So, that is it from this game! A lot at stake in game number 4 too as a win for Bangladesh will mean they will seal the series and a victory for the Kiwis will see them level the scores. That game will be played on the 8th of this month and it will begin at 1600 local (1000 GMT), the build-up though will begin a lot earlier. Do join us for it, till then, take care and goodbye!

New Zealand skipper, Tom Latham, says it was a really good performance and they were able to build important partnerships to get them to a par score and the job that the bowlers did with the new ball was amazing. He adds that he had belief in the middle and lower order to get valuable runs and Tom Blundell and Henry Nicholls did just that, which was helpful. Also adds that he came down the order to keep the left-right combination, which didn't work in this game. He also adds that the spinners have been consistent throughout and they have taken wickets along with being economical. Adds that the wickets are very different from back home and they knew it would be tough and they will keep on getting better and bettter as the tour goes on.

Ajaz Patel, Man of the Match, says as a spinner you thrive on conditions like these and you need to take responsibility and win games for your side. Adds all the bowlers did a good job and the batters before that also put up a good total. Mentions Rachin Ravindra bowled really well and they had discussed about which length is the key and he feels it was a great bowling effort. Informs he did have a good conversation with Daniel Vettori and he got a lot of advice as to which length will be good on this wicket.

Bangladesh skipper, Mahmudullah, says that the bowlers did a good job to restrict the opposition and they started well with the bat but could not capitalize on it. He adds that the middle order has been batting well, apart from this match and the top order did a good job in this game and they will look to learn from this match. Also adds that there is a long way to go in the series and they will look to bounce back in the next match.

TIME FOR THE PRESENTATION!

For the Kiwis, it is the spinners who led the way, actually, it was Ajaz Patel who was the star. A four-fer for him and four huge wickets. Cole McConchie was also really good with a three-fer. The others also did a good job by keeping it tight and building pressure. In the end, it was a really good effort from the visitors.

The start of the second essay though belonged to the hosts as Liton Das and Mohammad Naim got them off to a flier but once the former fell, the procession began. They just kept losing wickets at regular intervals and apart from the opening two only Rahim managed to get into double figures. That just sums up how poor they were with the bat.

A really good win for the Kiwis and they HAVE KEPT THE SERIES ALIVE! That partnership between Tom Blundell and Henry Nicholls has to be the difference. That is what took New Zealand from a position of disaster to something competitive and their bowlers then rose to the occasion.

Commentary

We are back for the second essay! The Bangladesh openers, Liton Das and Mohammad Naim walk out to the middle. Jacob Duffy to start off. Here we go...

... THE CHASE ...

Now, we have seen such totals being defended in recent times. New Zealand need to bowl accurately and try and pick up wickets on regular basis. Bangladesh know they need the one partnership and they’ll have the series in the bag. All to play for. Join us shortly.

The New Zealand batting was all about the one stand between Blundell and Nicholls. Yes, Young, Allen and Ravindra did get off to starts but they could not make it count. It was the 50-plus stand between numbers 6 and 7 which has kept the Kiwis in the game.

Bangladesh though will be disappointed. They had the Kiwis reeling at 62 for 5 but could not capitalise on the advantage. Their bowling wasn’t upto the mark in the last 10 overs. Also, they ended up giving away more than 45 in the last 5 overs which is not a good performance on this surface.

A really good recovery from the Kiwis and they have posted a total which one can be called a fighting one. Yes, the scoreboard reads 128 but on this wicket, if you bowl well, it is not going to be easy.

19.50

NOT OUT! The decision has been overturned. Fuller delivery, around leg stump and angling across. Tom Blundell looks to dig it out on the leg side but misses. Blundell gets rapped on the back leg and there is a huge appeal from the bowler. The umpire raises his finger, but Blundell reviews it straightaway. We can see that the ball pitches outside leg and Tom Blundell will continue to bat.

19.41

Fuller delivery, on off. Henry Nicholls drives it to long off for a run.

19.34

FOUR! STREAKY! Henry Nicholls and New Zealand will take it. Full and on leg stump. Henry Nicholls makes room to drive but gets an inside edge and the ball goes through his legs and into the fine leg fence.

Nurul Hasan was halfway down the track when he was sent back. The throw was at the wrong end and Tom Latham underarmed it to the bowler, who finally dislodged the bails. In the end the benefit of the doubt is given to the batter.

OUT! TIMBER! Two in two for Patel and he has 4! A first-baller for Afif. This is also an important wicket, Afif Hossain is a lovely timer of the ball, we have seen what he is capable of in the recent series against Australia. New Zealand at the moment, all over Bangladesh. Afif Hossain will be disappointed. Not the best of balls, it is very full and outside off. Afif looks to jam it out but ends up playing down the down the wrong line. It lands, spins back in and hits the off pole. Bangladesh now need a miracle.

Who will come in at number 7? It's going to be Afif Hossain.

9.2W

OUT! TAKEN! That is a huge, huge wicket! Ajaz Patel gets the Bangladesh skipper and he is amidst a dream spell here. Mahmudullah looks to break the shackles and rightly so, they were going nowhere playing like the way they were, the run rate needed building, he though picks the wrong bowler as Patel has not put a step wrong so far. Mahmudullah makes room as he wants to target the off side. Ajaz Patel bowls it wide and slow. Makes Mahmudullah reach out for it. The batter looks to go over cover but it goes off the toe end straight to Nicholls. Bangladesh in dire straits now.

Mahmudullah, the captain of Bangladesh says that, yes they are looking forward to the chase as the pitch looks better but he is still unsure on how it will behave. Adds that it's always difficult batting first on such a track and will be looking to restrict the opponent to a modest total. Ends by saying that there are no changes to their last match's playing XI.

Tom Latham, the Kiwi skipper says, that they will have a bat first and they took a learning from the second match and will keep improving. They will look to put on a competitive score and try to defend it. Also adds that the guys with the ball have done a wonderful job and will look to continue the same. Ends by saying that the wicket is tricky and they will look to improve upon it and there are three changes in the side.

PITCH REPORT - Tino Mawoyo is down with the pitch report. He says that the sun is shining and the pitch is the one used in the first match. There are cracks but they aren't visible due to the light grass cover. There will be variable bounce and the batsmen will have to adapt in order to have a flourish at the end.

Bangladesh (UNCHANGED XI) - Mohammad Naim, Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah (C), Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan (WK), Mahedi Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman.
