Commentary
For Bangladesh, Rana was brilliant with the new ball but once the ball got old, the pacers struggled. Hasan though was extremely good. He bowled well in the middle overs but did not get a lot of support from the others. Their batters now face a massive task ahead. Still a lot of time in the game but they'll need a few special knocks. Sri Lanka on the other hand, will want to make most of the new ball. They'll hope to get a few before Stumps. Bangladesh on the other hand, will hope to enter Day 4 without losing any. Join us for the chase in a bit.
End of a fine, fine batting effort from Lanka and they have batted Bangladesh out of the game! Yet again the stars from the first innings did it for them. Both Dhananjaya and Kamindu scored tons and have taken them to a massive score. There were a few starts for the others as well but it was these two who were the highlight.

Commentary
It was the seamers of the Lankans who took all the wickets. Vishwa Fernando ended with four while Kasun Rajitha and Lahiru Kumara ended with three wickets each. Overall, they bowled really well to rattle the hosts on the back foot. Sri Lanka lead by 92 runs. They will hope to end the session without losing any wickets. That is a solid performance by Sri Lankan bowlers. They have an incredible job of restricting Bangladesh to such a total. Sri Lanka took three wickets at the end of Day 1 and were tight today as well. Lahiru Kumara was just brilliant as he bowled tight line and lengths to take three wickets in no time. Taijul Islam played well but got out on 47. The other batters chipped in bt none made a big impact.

...Second innings...
The debutant, Nahid Rana was having an off day. Sri Lanka deliberately took him on and scored a lot of him but the debutant wasn't going to let it slip away that easily as Rana made a fine comeback by picking both set batters. He ended with three wickets and so did Khaled Ahmed. The pitch might do a bit with the new ball. Bangladesh have to be aware of that. They will hope to end the day's play without losing any wickets. Can the openers lay the foundation?
Sri Lanka end with a decent total. Bangladesh will be happy with how they have fought back. It was just the second session that has let them down. Five wickets in first session and five in this one but Sri Lanka turned things around in the second session when Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis came into bat under tremendous pressure. A partnership was badly needed and both played such wonderfully that it hushed Bangladesh completely on the back foot. Sri Lanka scored around 5 runs per over and both added around 200 runs. Both fell right after getting to their respective tons.

Dhananjaya de Silva, Man of the Match! He is very happy for the way he played. Adds the wicket had something in it for the pacers and they needed to play late. Credits the way Kamindu played. Reckons there wasn't much help in the second innings but the pacers did well. Ends by saying he is looking forward for the next game.
Najmul Hossain Shanto creidts Dhananjaya and Kamindu for the way they played. Adds he is proud of his pacers for the way they bowled. Mentions they need to improve their new ball batting. Fernando and Kumara ran through the top order of Bangladesh and managed to take five wickets at the end of Day 3. Day 4 was all about Rajitha as he picked a fifer and gave his side a massive win. Haque was the only one who showed some fight with the bat for Bangladesh, the rest just surrendered. Bangladesh will be very disappointed with their performance and Sri Lanka will be very pleased.
The Bangla pacers yet again managed to get early wickets but it was Dhananjaya and Kamindu yet again who came to the fore for Lanka. They scored tons again and gave Bangladesh a target of 500.
Then the pacers came to the fore as they took all 10 wickets and helped the visitors take a lead close to 100. Taijul Islam fought hard with the bat or the lead could have been a lot more.
That is an outstanding effort from Lanka. A thumping win for them to take a 1-0 lead in this series. Except for the initial sessions, it was all about Lanka in this game. They were in trouble after being inserted. They were around 50 for 5 but then came a massive stand of over 200 between Dhananjaya and Kamindu. Both scored tons and helped their side to a competitive total.

The whole day intact was about the Lankans. First it was Dhananjaya and Mendis. The two piled on the misery on the hosts and took the lead to 500 and then they had a few overs to bowl to the hosts and Fernando ran through the top order. More of the same is what Lanka would want on Day 4. They would love to end this in the first session itself. Bangladesh on the other hand, will be hoping to show some fight. Commentary
For Bangladesh, Rana was brilliant with the new ball but once the ball got old, the pacers struggled. Hasan though was extremely good. He bowled well in the middle overs but did not get a lot of support from the others. Their batters now face a massive task ahead. Still a lot of time in the game but they'll need a few special knocks. Sri Lanka on the other hand, will want to make most of the new ball. They'll hope to get a few before Stumps. Bangladesh on the other hand, will hope to enter Day 4 without losing any. Join us for the chase in a bit.
End of a fine, fine batting effort from Lanka and they have batted Bangladesh out of the game! Yet again the stars from the first innings did it for them. The first time it was so nice, they had to do it twice! Dhananjaya de Silva and Mendis added 200 runs in the first innings and now have added over 100 runs. A fantastic display of grit and determination from these two. Sri Lanka have dominated the session. They lost Vishwa Fernando early on but since then it is all Lanka. Both have scored back-to-back fifties and are on course to convert into a big one. Sri Lanka lead by 325 runs. Bangladesh looks clueless as the game goes on. They are itching to break this partnership but have no idea where it will come from. Hello and welcome to the action of Day 3 between Lanka and Bangladesh. Day 2 turned out to be quite eventful day and we feel the hosts have done enough to keep themselves in the game. Sri Lanka had a lead of around 100 runs before batting again but lost five wickets in the process. They’ll look to cross the 300-mark while Bangladesh will try and restrict them under 300. Anything under that will keep the game in balance. The first session could be the most crucial one of this game and whoever dominates might go on to win the game. Stay tuned.

Bangladesh whoever came out fighting with the ball. Rana bowled with fire and bagged early wickets for the hosts. Dimuth though showed good fight and he was well supported by Mathews and Dhananjaya de Silva who is off to a start. Lanka will hope they can somehow cross the 300 run mark and that will take some chasing. Bangladesh on the other hand, will hope they can take a few more wickets quickly and keep Lanka in tact. Commentary
It was the seamers of the Lankans who took all the wickets. Vishwa Fernando ended with four while Kasun Rajitha and Lahiru Kumara ended with three wickets each. Overall, they bowled really well to rattle the hosts on the back foot. Sri Lanka lead by 92 runs. They will hope to end the session without losing any wickets. That is a solid performance by Sri Lankan bowlers. They have an incredible job of restricting Bangladesh to such a total. Sri Lanka took three wickets at the end of Day 1 and were tight today as well. Lahiru Kumara was just brilliant as he bowled tight line and lengths to take three wickets in no time. Taijul Islam played well but got out on 47. The other batters chipped in bt none made a big impact.

LUNCH! A fantastic session for Sri Lanka and they continue to dominate the proceedings. Three wickets for them in this session. Their seamers continued from where they left off on Day 1 as they bowled in tight channels. Mahmudul Hasan Joy left the crease early. Hossain edged one to the slips. Litton Das and Taijul Islam then tried to rebuild and just when it seemed that this partnership is going to fly, Lahiru Kumara came up with a banger. He was the pick as all three wickets went to him in this session. Bangladesh have a big task as they trail by 148 runs. Taijul Islam is batting well but need some help from the other end. Sri Lanka bossed the second session but both fell after getting their centuries. It was the debutant who broke the deadlock. Nahid Rana went for runs but came back brilliantly in his second spell to get both the centurions in quick succession. Bangladesh made sure the tail did not wag much and took five wickets in the final session as well. However, in reply, they lost three wickets in an hour or so of play. They have lost few key batters but still have plenty of batting left. Bangladesh need to make sure to start Day 2 well while the ball is still now so Sri Lanka will hope for some early inroads. Stumps! A day that started well by Bangladesh but in the end, it's the visitors who will have a good sleep. Bangladesh opted to bowl first and were right on the money, taking five wickets in no time. Khaled Ahmed was the man of the hour and it looked like they will rattle the visitors quickly but then came the stubborn partnership which turned things around and got Sri Lanka back on track. Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis joined hands to add more than 200. Mendis was dropped in the slips on the first ball and went onto make a hundred while the skipper under a lot pressure played a brilliant innings as well.

...Second innings...
The debutant, Nahid Rana was having an off day. Sri Lanka deliberately took him on and scored a lot of him but the debutant wasn't going to let it slip away that easily as Rana made a fine comeback by picking both set batters. He ended with three wickets and so did Khaled Ahmed. The pitch might do a bit with the new ball. Bangladesh have to be aware of that. They will hope to end the day's play without losing any wickets. Can the openers lay the foundation?
Sri Lanka end with a decent total. Bangladesh will be happy with how they have fought back. It was just the second session that has let them down. Five wickets in first session and five in this one but Sri Lanka turned things around in the second session when Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis came into bat under tremendous pressure. A partnership was badly needed and both played such wonderfully that it hushed Bangladesh completely on the back foot. Sri Lanka scored around 5 runs per over and both added around 200 runs. Both fell right after getting to their respective tons.

LUNCH BREAK! A commanding start by the hosts! Overcast conditions, ball moving both ways and the seamers right on the money, Bangladesh couldn't have asked for a better start than this! Dhananjaya de Silva, Man of the Match! He is very happy for the way he played. Adds the wicket had something in it for the pacers and they needed to play late. Credits the way Kamindu played. Reckons there wasn't much help in the second innings but the pacers did well. Ends by saying he is looking forward for the next game.

Fernando and Kumara ran through the top order of Bangladesh and managed to take five wickets at the end of Day 3. Day 4 was all about Rajitha as he picked a fifer and gave his side a massive win. Haque was the only one who showed some fight with the bat for Bangladesh, the rest just surrendered. Bangladesh will be very disappointed with their performance and Sri Lanka will be very pleased.
The Bangla pacers yet again managed to get early wickets but it was Dhananjaya and Kamindu yet again who came to the fore for Lanka. They scored tons again and gave Bangladesh a target of 500.
Then the pacers came to the fore as they took all 10 wickets and helped the visitors take a lead close to 100. Taijul Islam fought hard with the bat or the lead could have been a lot more.
That is an outstanding effort from Lanka. A thumping win for them to take a 1-0 lead in this series. Except for the initial sessions, it was all about Lanka in this game. They were in trouble after being inserted. They were around 50 for 5 but then came a massive stand of over 200 between Dhananjaya and Kamindu. Both scored tons and helped their side to a competitive total.
