Hello and welcome everyone to the 2nd ODI between Ireland and Bangladesh. Before the start of this series, there were lots of hopes for Ireland to clean sweep this series and book their place for World Cup but things doesn’t work against the nature. As the first game was called off due to rain, Ireland now have to take the long route for the mega event as their chances to qualify directly is null and void. Still, a lot to play in this series. Let’s hope for an exciting match and hope the rain stays away. Stay tuned.

The eight teams that will qualify directly for the 2023 ODI World Cup have now been decided. It was between Ireland and South Africa to fill the last place but the former needed to win this series 3-0. However, in the first game rain played spoilsport, and the game was washed out as were the hopes of direct qualification for the Irish. Bangladesh looked a bit rusty in the first match as they were still adapting to the English conditions. Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Towhid Hridoy scored some runs but the other batters struggled a bit. There is not much at stake for them, so they can play freely. Litton Das and Tamim Iqbal will look to rack up some runs in the remaining matches while Shakib Al Hasan will also look to get back in form. Their bowlers did not get many overs due to the rain but Hasan Mahmud, Taijul Islam, and Shoriful Islam picked up a wicket each and will look to add to that tally. Shakib and Ebadot Hossain will be crucial with the ball too. They are a well-balanced side and have a slight edge over the Irish. Ireland, on the other hand, haven't played much cricket as a team. The last time they played an ODI series, it was against Zimbabwe and they drew 1-1. Their players have been in decent form in recent times and now that qualification is not on the line, they will come all guns blazing. Paul Stirling and Andy Balbirnie will look to give them good starts while they have a solid middle order consisting of Lorcan Tucker, Harry Tector, and George Dockrell who have played some big knocks against tough oppositions which should give them more confidence. Their bowling attack is a very good one with Joshua Little who is a part of the Gujarat team in the ongoing Indian T20 League using his experience to trouble the batters in the first game and getting good support from Mark Adair and Graham Hume. They should enjoy the overcast conditions here which would be crucial if they want to upset the subcontinent side. They know that they have to take the long route to the World Cup which won't be easy but this series is a perfect opportunity to sharpen their skills in this format. Let's see who comes out on top.
