Right then, the first game of a doubleheader Sunday is done and it is Mumbai who have been fourth-time lucky rather than third-time lucky and now every team has at least one win under their belt. The second match has already started and it is Lucknow batting first against Gujarat in Lucknow. You can simply switch tabs and follow our coverage of that game. Cheers!

Romario Shepherd is the Player of the Match with his stellar cameo with the bat and exploits with the ball as well. Romario says that his hard work paid off and the coach gave him the chance to express himself and so did the skipper. Adds that in situations in which he came out to bat, you can't think much and need to keep a clear mind. Mentions that he pre-meditated one shot and says that he tries to keep it 50-50 with his batting and his bowling and ends by joking that his power comes from food.

Hardik Pandya the skipper of Mumbai says that it was a lot of hard work and they had the right intent and it all went well this game. Adds that with Suryakumar Yadav back in the side there will be just a couple of tactical changes but the team looks well settled. Mentions that the belief and backing in the camp is great and they just needed one win. Appreciates the opening batters and everybody else who are chipping in when it is needed. Says that Romario Shepherd's inning won them the game and he is extremely proud of the way he batted. Concludes that everything was covered well and that's why he didn't have to roll over his arms.

The Presentation ceremony...

Earlier in the game, after having been put into bat first, Mumbai set the stage for victory with a blistering batting display right at the start and then at the death as well. The openers scored 75 runs in the first 6 overs with Rohit Sharma in devastating form. However, neither openers could get to their fifties and skipper Hardik Pandya had to play an anchoring knock. It was Tim David who reignited the flame in the death overs with a quickfire knock and then Romario Shepherd just took things up a notch in the final over, hammering 4 sixes and a couple of 4s to take Mumbai to 234 runs. With the ball, Axar Patel bowled a tight spell and got wickets and made things happen in the field as well. Khaleel Ahmed and Jhye Richardson were just about decent but Anrich Nortje fumbled big time and he will certainly have a few nightmares of that 20th over that he bowled. In replay, Delhi batted well in patches and a couple of players stood out but Mumbai had the edge.

Ishan Kishan is now down for a quick chat. He says that they played to their potential and this is what they are capable of and got the result they were looking for. Adds that he has played a lot here and mentions that it does get tough for batting after the first 6 overs which makes the Powerplay very important in terms of batting. On Romario Shepherd, he says that he was working very hard in the nets and they are aware of his power and he delivered. Ends by saying that he is feeling good.

Rishabh Pant the skipper of Delhi says that they were in contention but feel they could not capitalize on the powerplay and with mounting pressure and the run rate over 13-14 runs it gets hard to cope. Adds that one over here and there can change the moment for the side and they can either blame that or get better at it. Talks about the deck and says that the slower ones were sticking a bit but was a good track to bat on. Concludes that they will look to improve on making the most of the Powerplay and the death bowling going ahead.

Delhi will eventually feel that they could have actually ended up on the winning side even after that final over where Anrich Nortje conceded 32 runs but it was the Powerplay with the bat that was equally disappointing. The openers failed to pick the pace of the pitch early on and Warner fell early. Prithvi Shaw and Abishek Porel stitched together a 88-run stand but they were always behind the eight-ball by then. Both Shaw and Porel played valiant innings but it was yet again Tristan Stubbs who just looked settled from ball one and played an unreal knock of 71 runs off just 25 balls and even remained unbeaten. He didn't get the strike at all in the final over and he would have looked to lessen the margin of defeat which was disappointing for him. Overall, Delhi need to buck up as they still have just the single win.

MUMBAI ARE FINALLY OFF THE MARK! Now that was an entertaining game and Tristan Stubbs almost pulled the rabbit out of the hat for Delhi but it just wasn't meant to be and Mumbai always had a few too many runs on the board. Mumbai had the runs on the board and got a brilliant start with the ball as well. The pacers didn't allow the opposition batters to get off to a flier and half the game was won inside the Powerplay itself as they saw the back of David Warner as well. They then faced a stern resistance for the second wicket partnership but Jasprit Bumrah had his say by crushing the leg stump of Prithvi Shaw and Mumbai yet again got back on top. They did get hit for boundaries here and there but managed to pick up wickets and Bumrah's highly economical spell of 2 for 22 runs was the difference-maker. Gerald Coetzee picked up three wickets in the final over to end the game with 4 wickets overall and there's a huge sense of relief among the Mumbai players.

OUT! CAUGHT! Mumbai register their first win of the season by 29 runs. Gerald Coetzee gets 3 wickets in the over! Bangs this on a back of a length, just outside off, Jhye Richardson is hurried by the pace on it as he looks to pull but gets it off the upper half off the bat. The ball balloons over to backward point where Rohit Sharma takes the simplest of catches to wrap things up.

19.52

Bowls a yorker into the pads, Jhye Richardson digs it out to deep mid wicket for a couple of runs.

19.4W

OUT! CAUGHT! Gerald Coetzee on a hattrick now! Angles this across on a fuller length, just outside off, Kumar Kushagra looks to slice it over cover but doesn't get it right. The ball shoots high up in the air over cover and Tilak Varma gets under it to take a simple catch.

Jhye Richardson walks out to face the hattrick ball.

Kumar Kushagra, the Impact Player for Delhi walks out to bat now.

19.3W

OUT! CAUGHT! Mumbai inch closer to their first win! Gerald Coetzee angles this across on a back of a length and outside off, Lalit Yadav looks for the pull but gets it off the toe end of the bat straight up in the air to the left of the keeper, Ishan Kishan who calls for it and settles under it to complete the catch.

19.20

Spears a yorker, just on off, Lalit Yadav jams it back to the bowler.

SIX! That's the third of the over and Tristan Stubbs is doing everything right! Romario Shepherd drops the length a bit over middle and leg, Tristan Stubbs shuffles across and swivels to pull it over fine leg for a maximum to end the over. Delhi now need 34 runs off the last over and Tristan Stubbs will not be on strike.

18.51

Takes pace off and bowls it slower and outside off, Lalit Yadav cuts it to deep point for a single.

Lalit Yadav is the new batter in.

18.41W

OUT! RUN OUT! That's lazy and sloppy from Axar Patel and Delhi lose half their side. Romario Shepherd bowls this on a length and into the stumps, Axar Patel wacks it to the right of mid on and sets for the second run. The fielder Mohammad Nabi collects the ball and throws it back to the keeper, Ishan Kishan who knocks the bails off with Axar Patel falling well short of the crease as he was slow on the second run and wasn't expecting the throw to come to his end.

Is that out? Oh, dear! Axar Patel has been foxed by the keeper here and that is a smart piece of glovework from Ishan Kishan. It is sent upstairs and the replays show that Axar was out of his crease and mostly it was his laziness that got him out. OUT comes up on the board.

18.31

Cleaver bowling! Takes pace off and bowls it wider on off, on a length, Tristan Stubbs reaches for it and cuts it to deep cover for a single.

18.26

SIX! Two-in-two! Perfect start to the over and Tristan Stubbs is doing what Romario Shepherd did in that last over to them! Goes fuller and attacks the stumps, Tristan Stubbs picks the length perfectly to smack it over mid-wicket for another maximum.

18.16

SIX! Cant get flatter than that. A fuller delivery, into the stumps, Tristan Stubbs takes away his front leg and lofts it over the bowler's head for a maximum.

17.44

17.31

Attempts a yorker and bowls a low full toss on middle and off, Tristan Stubbs drives it to long off for a single.

Sees the batter making room and bowls another yorker, on leg, Axar Patel crouches low and tucks it to short third for a single.

Commentary

We are back with the chase! The two umpires make their way into the middle followed by the Mumbai fielders. It will be David Warner and Prithvi Shaw to open the innings for Delhi with the bat. Akash Madhwal is the impact substitute coming in for Suryakumar Yadav. Gerald Coetzee is handed the new ball and will start the proceedings for Mumbai. Away we go..

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Rishab Pant's decision of opting to bowl first appeared to backfire as the Mumbai batters launched a ferocious assault right from the start, catching the Delhi pacers off guard. Despite the introduction of spin during the powerplay, the flow of runs continued unabated, leaving Delhi trailing in the early stages of the game. It was then Axar Patel who finally broke through for Delhi soon after the powerplay, providing the crucial breakthrough of Rohit Sharma, which was swiftly followed by Anrich Nortje's dismissal of the dangerous Suryakumar Yadav for a duck. Subsequently, the Delhi bowlers managed to regain control, tightening their lines and lengths to restrict the flow of boundaries. Their disciplined approach in the middle overs prevented the Mumbai batters from scoring freely up until the 15th over. The bowlers then lost track conceding 96 runs in the last 5 overs with Anrich Nortje being smoked for 32 runs off the last over of the innings. With momentum against them, Delhi will have to come all guns blazing to stand a chance to chase this big total of 235 runs down. Will they be able to get through? Or will Mumbai continue their onslaught with the ball and register their first win of this season? We shall soon find out as the chase comes to you in a bit.

Tim David is up for a chat. He says that it was pretty exciting to be at the other end and watch Romario hit the ball. Adds that things haven't been going their way so they had to go hard and all that momentum Romario gardened in the final over is crucial. Reckons that the wicket did slow up a bit and hence, that final over is even more important. On that ball that almost hit his face, he says that he was scared that it might smash right in and ends by joking that it is definitely the first three he has got at the Wankhede.

Romario Shepherd's explosive cameo, scoring 39 runs off just 10 deliveries, has significantly bolstered Mumbai's innings, enabling them to post a commanding total of 234 runs on the scoreboard which the skipper, Hardik Pandya will be mighty pleased about. After being put in to bat first, Mumbai's opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan launched a blistering assault on the Delhi bowlers right from the outset. Their aggressive strokeplay confounded the field placements, allowing them to establish a formidable foundation of 75 runs by the conclusion of the powerplay. With Rohit Sharma's departure at a well-crafted 49 runs, Mumbai suffered a temporary setback as the returning Suryakumar Yadav fell for a duck, losing two wickets in quick succession. Although Hardik Pandya managed to find occasional boundaries, the middle overs witnessed a slowdown in run-scoring as Mumbai lost a couple more wickets including Ishan Kishan who looked good, enabling Delhi to claw their way back into the game. However, a pivotal 60-run partnership between Tim David and the skipper provided Mumbai with a much-needed boost. It was then Tim David and Romario Shepherd who put up a 53-run partnership off 16 balls that propelled Mumbai to a mammoth total of 234 runs.

SIX! Well, that is one of the greatest final overs from a batting perspective in the history of the tournament as Romario Shepherd racks up 32 runs! A bit full again and at the stumps, Shepherd hangs deep, clears the front leg and whips it over long on for a fourth biggie in the over. Anrich Nortje is distraught but what a knock that is from Shepherd, 39 off just 10 balls. Mumbai finish with a huge total of 234/5 on the board!

19.54

FOUR! The ball is just going like a tracer bullet every time it leaves the bat of Romario Shepherd. Full and quick at the stumps, Romario clears the front leg and drills the ball right back past the bowler for a boundary.

19.46

SIX! Wow, we are witnessing some pure ball-striking and Romario Shepherd is giving the Mumbai crowd a nostalgic innings, reminding everyone of Kieron Pollard. Goes short again and outside off but it doesn't matter as Shepherd is able to adjust and plays it like an inside-out Tennis forehand over the cover fence for another biggie, the third one off the over.

19.36

SIX! That has almost gone into the harbor! Hard length outside off, Romario Shepherd shimmies across and changes his stance before swinging it away a long way over fine leg for a mammoth six.

19.26

SIX! That is colossal from Romario Shepherd and the crowd should be ducking for cover here. Banged in short again but coming in at a comfortable height, Shepherd muscles the ball with brute force and deep into the stands over long on for a biggie. There might be someone actually hurt in the crowd, hopefully, it is not serious.

19.14

FOUR! Another hard hit from Romario Shepherd and it will be another boundary. Short of a length and outside off, Romario just flat-bats it into the deck and just to the right of the wickets at the other end for a boundary.

FOUR! Another freebie and the 200 comes up for Mumbai with one over still remaining. Short and wide, a bit slower too, enough time for Tim David to wait and slap it away past point for a boundary. 19 off that over, a big one for MUmbai!

18.56

SIX! A poor delivery and Tim David doesn't miss out. David also reckons this could be above waist height and takes the review. Ishant Sharma goes down on the follow-through and ends up serving a high full toss on the body, David manages to whip it away over the fence behind square leg for a biggie. The replays roll in and the third umpire is happy with the height.

18.41

Another good yorker, this time on middle and leg, Romario Shepherd stays deep in the crease and forces it out through mid off for another single. Delhi won't mind the single at all.

18.31

Gets the bumper close to the off stump, Tim David swivels on it and nails the pull but straight to deep square leg for just a single.

18.31wd

WIDE! A bit all over the place as this is bowled short and well beyond the tramline outside off.

18.21

A searing yorker at 138 clicks around the fourth stump line, Romario Shepherd manages to toe-end the ball just past the off stump and the batters scamper through for a single.

18.14

FOUR! Geez, that was hit hard! Overpitched and outside off, Romario Shepherd throws his hands at it and gets it in between mid off and covers for a boundary.

18.11wd

WIDE! Ishant Sharma too now looks for the slower bumper wide of the off stump but pushes it a bit too wide for the umpire's liking.

Goes full now and outside off, Romario Shepherd can only manage to hit it down to long off for a single. Good comeback in that over from Anrich Nortje.

17.61wd

WIDE! A late call for a wide and Delhi have challenged it. Attempted slower bumper, trying it push it across the off stump but gets it a bit too wide. Romario Shepherd tries to reach out but can't get to it and the third umpire deems that the batter was still around off stump and calls it a wide.

Romario Shepherd walks out to bat next for Mumbai.

17.5W

OUT! CAUGHT! Anrich Nortje gets his man and Hardik Pandya has to depart after a valuable but sluggish knock. Nortje misses his mark and serves a juicy full toss angling it onto the pads, Pandya looks to slog it away but gets it flat down towards deep square leg where the substitute fielder Jake Fraser-McGurk picks up his second catch of the game.

17.40

Gets another one right does Anrich Nortje. Slower bumper, in and around off stump, no room available and Hardik Pandya can only dab it down to backward point.

17.30

Hardik Pandya missed that one by a mile! Slower one, dug in short and outside off, Pandya looks to fetch and pull but only connects with thin air.

17.31wd

WIDE! Banged in a bit short again, pace on this time and pushed beyond the tramline outside off. Left alone for another wide and Rishabh Pant is getting a real workout behind the stumps.

17.21

A slower bumper, dug in well short and outside off, Tim David manages to ride the bounce and pull it down towards long on for a single.

17.21wd

WIDE! Will have to reload that one! Slower one, trying for the wide yorker but spills it beyond the tramline for a wide.

17.27nb

NO BALL AND SIX! It's all gone wrong for Anrich Nortje and Delhi here and that was a wild delivery. The ball slips out of the hands and turns out to be a beamer right around the chest. Great reflexes from Tim David though as he manages to swing at it and the ball sails into the stands over the fine leg fence. Free Hit coming up...

17.14

FOUR! A real gift from Anrich Nortje and Tim David duly obliges. Slower one, on a length and angling down leg, David just flicks it wide of short fine leg and picks up an easy boundary.

OUT!

Cleaver bowling! Takes pace off and bowls it wider on off, on a length, Tristan Stubbs reaches for it and cuts it to deep cover for a single.

Hardik Pandya sends it upstairs for the review. Gerald Coetzee steams from around the wicket and bowls a fuller delivery on middle and leg, Tristan Stubbs gets across the line and looks to scoop it over but misses out as the ball sneaks through the bat and clips him low on the pad. The ball rolls away to the off side and the batters cross. The replays roll in and the UltraEdge confirms that there was no inside egde. The BallTracking shows that the pitching was outside off and the impact was outside leg. The onfield call stays and it is called as legbyes!

Half an appeal for LBW by the bowler and the keeper also thinks there's something in it and Hardik Pandya does take the review. The replays roll and it looks to be outside off stump and UltraEdge first confirms that there's no bat on it. Ball Tracking does show that the impact was indeed outside off stump. NOT OUT!

OUT! CAUGHT! Would you believe it? The one-time Jasprit Bumrah misses his mark in this one, he gets his wicket and that is his 150th Indian T20 League wicket! Looks to spear the quicker yorker in at the toes but ends up serving a full toss instead. Abishek Porel is cramped for room though and has a swing across the line. The ball comes off the higher part of the bat and goes down to wide long on where Tim David takes a simple catch. End of a fighting knock by Porel.

14.50

Just too good from Jasprit Bumrah yet again! Full and close to the off stump, right in the blockhole, Abishek Porel looks to squeeze it out on the off side but fails to do so.

14.44

FOUR! Skillful from Abishek Porel and that was a brave shot! The slower yorker now on off stump and angling in, Porel gets right across the stumps and delicately scoops it right of the stumps and fine of short fine for a boundary.

14.31

That one almost sneaked through! Quick and right at the base of the off stump, Tristan Stubbs manages to jam the bat down in time and gets it off the cue end on the leg side for just another single.

14.21

Full and straight this time, angling in a bit, Abishek Porel clears the front leg and heaves it away to deep mid-wicket for a single.

14.10

Perfectly executed! Brings out the slower yorker, bowling it outside off and getting it to dip as well, Abishek Porel looks to smash this one out of the park but is well beaten.

Strategic break! Delhi are well and truly on track to chase this one down. Both Abishek Porel and Tristan Stubbs have looked positive and have found boundaries at will. With 97 more runs needed off the last 6 overs, Delhi do have wickets in hand which evens out the equation. Mumbai will have to tighten the flow of runs from the other end while Jasprit Bumrah continues to show his magic. A brilliant finish to this exciting game is set to unfold.

OUT!

Anrich Nortje (2-0-17-1) comes back into the attack. Also, the impact substitute Kumar Kushagra comes in for Khaleel Ahmed.

Slightly slower, keeps it full and angles it into off and middle, Tim David plays it late and straight to short cover.

16.21

Pitched up full and outside the off stump, thumped away down to long off for a single.

16.13

That was a bit unnecessary from Rishabh Pant! Full and angled into the legs, Tim David flicks it away to the right of deep square leg where Abishek Porel just fumbles a touch and the batters race back for the second. The throw comes in at the keeper's end where Pant collects the ball and throws it at the stumps on the other end. The ball ricochets away and Pandya sets off for the third but David is unaware and has to rush. The throw from the deep just misses the stumps at the bowler's end as David dives in to make his ground.

15.16

SIX! Swung away for a maximum! A bit of a nothing delivery from Jhye Richardson as this is bowled at just 120 odd clicks and in the slot around off. Tim David stays put and clubs it over wide long on for a six.

Strategic break! Well, what a turnaround this has been! Mumbai were 75/0 at the end of the first 6 overs but Delhi, led by Axar Patel have pulled things back remarkably conceding 63 runs in the next 9 overs and picking up 4 wickets as well. However, there are still 5 overs left and Hardik Pandya is well set and has Tim David for company as well. With more firepower to come, expect Mumbai to come hard at the bowlers and Delhi will be hoping that the aggressive nature brings about more wickets for them. Let's see how the first innings pans out.

Hardik Pandya, the captain of Mumbai, says that they would have also liked to bowl first although batting first isn't a problem with the deck being a dry one. Mentions not getting a win under their belt has put them under some pressure but they are very sure that one win will bring more. Talks about how special this game is with all the kids around and they hope to send them back home with a smile. On the flip side, Delhi have managed to secure just one victory out of their four matches thus far, leaving them just one step ahead of Mumbai on the points table. Despite glimpses of form, the team has struggled to translate their efforts into tangible results. Skipper Rishabh Pant has been a consistent performer with the bat, but he will require more substantial contributions from the rest of the batting lineup. While the bowling unit faced a tough challenge in their previous outing against Kolkata, they have otherwise delivered decent performances. However, they will need to raise their game against the formidable Mumbai batting lineup. Cohesion will be key for Delhi to turn the tide and return to winning ways. With much at stake, both teams will be eager to rectify their shortcomings and clinch a much-needed victory in this crucial encounter. Who do you think will get across the line? We shall soon find out as the Toss and team news comes to you in a bit.

Mumbai has faced a challenging start to their campaign, enduring three consecutive matches without tasting victory, a position that sees them languishing at the bottom of the league table. With performances falling below par, much rests on the shoulders of skipper Hardik Pandya to orchestrate a turnaround and infuse the team with renewed energy and determination. The return of the reliable Mumbai batter, Suryakumar Yadav, comes as a relief to the side which undoubtedly will offer much-needed stability to their batting order. Although his presence in this game is yet to be confirmed, his contribution will be instrumental in propelling Mumbai back to their winning ways, a reputation they have long been renowned for. However, concerns linger over the bowling unit, which has yet to hit its stride. In the past, Mumbai's bowling prowess has been a formidable force, and they will be keen to rediscover that lethal edge to bolster their quest for success in the tournament.
