That is it from this match. New Zealand go 2-0 up and could seal the series in the next game where these two meet again on the 17th of this month. Join us at 5.30 am IST (12 am GMT). Join us earlier for the build up. Cheers!

Tim Southee, stand-in skipper for New Zealand says it was a good surface to bat and the openers set it up nicely. Tells Ish Sodhi got two vital wickets and was sensational on the field as well. Ben Sears is young but shows a lot of character. Reckons they lost wickets quickly but the openers did enough to win the game.

Shaheen Afridi says they missed out on making the most of the new ball when swing was on offer. Adds they bowled well after the 10 overs but the start wasn't particularly good.

Finn Allen wins the PLAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD. He says it was important to adapt quickly and have different gears to his game.  Adds he had a chat with Daryl Mitchell and hoped for a score around 200. Tells Kane Williamson is a calm man and they bounce off each other and help each other.

...Presentation next...

New Zealand go 2-0 up in the series. They were definitely nervous while defending. Nothing was going as per their plan but once Adam Milne got the wicket of Zaman, the flood gates opened up for them. They kept it tight after that and even the bowlers came back strongly in the back end. The worrying sign for New Zealand was their fielding. Both Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam were dropped once and went onto make most of it. On any other day, they could have snatched the result and New Zealand will surely work on the fielding department.

Pakistan have failed to chase down a target twice in a row. This was more gettable though and they were in pole position at one point with Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam hitting all over the ground. They made most of the lifelines given to them and scored fifties respectively. However, the game took a twist once Fakhar Zaman fell. Yet again the middle order collapsed. Babar Azam was out there but his wicket and Shaheen Afridi's wicket were the final nail in the coffin.

The umpires are checking a caught behind appeal.

Pakistan need 23 runs off the last over. Tim Southee to bowl.

Commentary

So, Kane Williamson hurt his hamstring and will take no further part in this game. Tim Southee to captain his side. The players are in the middle for the chase. Tim Southee to bowl first..

...THE CHASE...

Allen scored a quick fifty but New Zealand lost wickets at regular intervals which hampered their momentum a bit. New Zealand in the last five overs failed to go big and have ended under 200. Pakistan were okay with the ball. They didn't make the most of the swing available at the start and allowed the Kiwi batters to get some easy runs. However, Pakistan will be confident to chase this down. A good start is required for them. Can the openers lay the foundation for others to chase it down? Let's find out.

Excellent fightback from Pakistan in the last phase and they have given themselves a real chance to win this game. Anything under 200 and Pakistan were going to be in this game. New Zealand will be disappointed with the score, knowing they were in such a commanding position for a long period. Finn Allen gave a blistering start and he along with Kane Williamson added over 50 runs. The skipper though during the halfway mark got injured out and is still unknown if he will take the field.

UltraEdge shows a big spike as the ball hits the PADS. Ball Tracking shows it rolls over the middle pole. Superb delivery nonetheless.

FOUR! First one of the game. Not a good start from Rauf. Length ball, slanting on the pads. Hit-me ball! Allen whips it over short fine leg for a boundary. Over the man there.

Who'll bowl from the other end? It is Haris Rauf.

We are all set. The Pakistani team is out in the middle. A bit overcast conditions but the sun is out as well. Finn Allen and Devon Conway to open for the Kiwis. Shaheen Afridi to bowl first. A slip in place. Let's go...

New Zealand (PLAYING XI) - Finn Allen, Devon Conway (WK), Kane Williamson (C), Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Ben Sears.

Pakistan (PLAYING XI) - Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Azam Khan (WK), Aamer Jamal, Usama Mir, Shaheen Afridi (C), Abbas Afridi, Haris Rauf.

TOSS - Pakistan have won the toss and will BOWL first!

New Zealand on the other hand were expected to start well at home. They had a lot of positives to take from the first game and would love to replicate and go 2-0 up. The Kiwis put on a brilliant performance but Pakistan will be eager as well to square things up. Can Afridi get his first win as a captain or the hosts will double their lead? Let’s find out. Toss and team news coming up.

It was not a dream start to Shaheen Afridi’s captaincy career as Pakistan were convincingly beaten by the hosts in the first match. Pakistan were in the game for a while but the middle order collapsed at the wrong time. Afridi will not only try to rectify their batting but their continues fielding woes was on show as well which cost them quite a few runs along with a couple of bowlers conceding more than 50 runs.

...Match Day...

We're in for a thriller as New Zealand and Pakistan face off in the second T20I at Seddon Park in Hamilton! The Black Caps will be looking to ride the momentum from their commanding win in the first match. The Kiwi batters showcased their firepower, with Finn Allen scoring a quick 34, Kane Williamson anchoring with a stylish 57, and Daryl Mitchell exploding for a sensational 61, propelling New Zealand to a steep total of 226. Every single cricket fan doesn't matter from which geography, was simply awe-struck by such clean hitting. Despite Shaheen Afridi and debutant Abbas Afridi's impressive 3-fers, they couldn't prevent the daunting total. In reply, Pakistan lost early wickets. Saim Ayub and Mohammad Rizwan did provide explosive initiation up the order but perished sooner. Babar Azam's blazing 57 was the biggest highlight for them. However, the Kiwi veteran Tim Southee's 4-wicket haul, making him the first bowler with 150 T20I wickets, led to Pakistan's middle-order collapse, as Pakistan got bundled up on 180. The Blackcaps emerged as deserved 46-run victors but Pakistan will be keen to bounce back strongly in Hamilton. When New Zealand and Pakistan clashed at picturesque Seddon Park previously, the Kiwis dominated with a dominating 9-wicket victory. The Kiwis have a strong track record at this venue, losing only 2 of their last 10 matches. New Zealand's batting order is firing on all cylinders and their bowling artillery didn't disappoint either. They will aim to continue their home dominance. The visitors will have to up their game in all departments, especially in preventing any further fielding mishaps. With home advantage on their side, the Kiwis will be eager to seize a 2-0 lead, while Pakistan will be hungry for a comeback.
