We are back with the run chase as the match officials make their way into the middle. Pakistan players scatter to take their respective field positions. Mohammad Shahzad and Sediqullah Atal are the two openers for Afghanistan, while Aamer Jamal will bowl the first over for Pakistan.

On the other hand, Afghanistan's bowlers displayed exceptional skills and composure throughout Pakistan's innings. Their fast bowlers made early inroads by dismissing the openers and key top-order batsmen. The spinners complemented their efforts by dismantling Pakistan's middle-order, creating effective partnerships to secure wickets. Afghanistan's fielding, marked by sharp catches and agile run-out attempts, further bolstered their dominant performance in the field. With such an impressive display, Afghanistan is now in a strong position to chase down the target and secure a spot in the Asian Games 2023 final, where they will face an eagerly waiting Indian team. The stage is set for a thrilling second innings, as cricket fans await the outcome of this high-stakes encounter.
The woes for Pakistan began early in their innings as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Batters fell victim to poor shot selection and lapses in communication while running between the wickets. Despite Omair Yousuf showing some promise in the initial stages of the innings, his dismissal to a simple delivery added to Pakistan's woes. The lack of resistance from the Pakistani batters ultimately led to their demise, with the team getting bowled out and having 12 balls to spare. The fragile batting performance has undoubtedly raised questions about Pakistan's ability to handle pressure situations in crucial matches. They will have to bowl really well if they want to stop Afghanistan before this total. The wicket is not ideal for batter as the bowlers and getting good help. Pakistan still has a chance if the bowling and fielding is done right with plans.
In a disappointing turn of events for Pakistan, their batting performance in the semi-final of the Asian Games 2023 against Afghanistan left much to be desired. Being asked in to bat first, Pakistan struggled to build any substantial partnerships and succumbed to a paltry total of 115 runs in just 18 overs. This early collapse has unfortunately been a recurring theme for Pakistan throughout the tournament, and it reared its head again when it mattered most in the semi-final clash.

Commentary
Right then this is it from the second Semi-final of the Asian Games 2023 as Afghanistan has advanced through to the Gold Medal match where they will be facing India while Pakistan will be up against Bangladesh for a Bronze medal match. You could join us for both the games on Saturday with the Bronze Medal game set to be played from 6.30 am IST (1 am GMT). You could join us an hour before for the build-up as well. For now, you can enjoy the ongoing ICC CWC game between Pakistan and the Netherlands as well. Till then have a nice time.
Pakistan's bowlers put up a commendable performance, but ultimately, it was the runs on the board that made the difference. A margin of 20 more runs from the Pakistani batters could have altered the outcome. Pakistan's quest for an Asian Games Gold medal concludes here, and they will now compete for third place against Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Afghanistan's triumph sets the stage for a thrilling final showdown against India, the top-ranked T20 team in the world, as they vie for the coveted title.
Afghanistan's batting performance mirrored that of Pakistan, with both teams losing early wickets and exposing their middle order to the new ball's challenges. However, Afghanistan found a lifeline in the form of a crucial partnership between Noor and Afsar in the middle overs, which helped them regain their footing in the game. Pakistan fought back by dismissing both set batsmen in a single over, putting them in a commanding position. As the game entered the death overs, Afghanistan's captain, Gulbadin, played a decisive role, scoring an unbeaten 26 off just 19 balls to guide his team to victory and a place in the finals against India.
The semi-final clash between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the Asian Games 2023 proved to be a roller coaster ride of emotions, with Afghanistan emerging as the victors and securing their place in the final against India. Pakistan, on the other hand, will compete for third place against Bangladesh as the tournament enters its final stages.

Afghanistan on the other hand, is walking into the semi-final following an 8-run victory against the mighty Lankans. Noor Ali Zadran was the star of the show in their Quarter Final as he scored a half-century that took the side to 116 and the experience of Qais Ahmad and Gulbadin Naib restricted the opponents to just 108. The challenge today for the Afghanistan team would be to showcase a better batting performance against one of the most lethal bowling units in the tournament. Let's find out who is going to face India in a Gold Medal match. Stay tuned for toss and team updates.
Pakistan is stepping into the semi-finals with a hefty victory of 68 runs against Hong Kong in the Quarter Final. Pakistan were in a moment of bother after losing 5 wickets with just 54 on board but it was a collective effort of the lower middle order that bailed them out as they scored 160. Hong Kong had no answer to the lethal bowling attack of Pakistan, as Pakistan made an easy task of it. The challenge for Pakistan would be to up the ante with the bat right at the top against a much more quality side in Afghanistan.
Hello and welcome to the second semifinal of the Asian Games between Pakistan and Afghanistan. ZJUT Cricket Stadium in Hangzhou will host this encounter between two fierce sides.
...MATCH DAY...
We are just a couple of games away from the Gold medal clash at the Asian Games for the Men's Cricket Competition and in the second semifinal, Pakistan will take on Afghanistan at the ZJUT Cricket Field in Hangzhou. Pakistan notched up a relatively easy victory over Hong Kong in their quarterfinal clash, which was their first game of the campaign as well and will look to continue in the same form. On the other hand, the 2014 Silver medalists Afghanistan had an intense encounter against Sri Lanka in their quarterfinal match but they managed to topple the 2014 Gold medalists by 8 runs. Pakistan looked fairly under par with the bat early on against Hong Kong but a couple of cameos from Asif Ali and Arafat Minhas and then a sublime 16-ball-41 from Aamer Jamal took them to a solid total of 160. With the ball, they were on the money and after a bit of resilience, they ripped through the opposition batting order as three bowlers took a couple of wickets each and Khushdil Shah stood out with three wickets of his own. Moving on to Afghanistan, they certainly have a few names that have international experience and have played in T20 leagues across the globe which makes them a dangerous opposition. Their batting though faltered as they were bundled out for just 116 with just three batters getting into double figures. Noor Ali Zadran was the standout with a half-century but with the ball, skipper Gulbadin Naib and leggie sensation Qais Ahmad showed their class as they bowled out the Lankans for 108 runs. This second semifinal clash is a highly anticipated one as two neighboring nations go toe-to-toe for glory. Who are you backing?
