Right then, that is all we have from yet another one-sided affair. Pakistan have bulldozed their way to a 2-0 lead in this five-match series while New Zealand are looking for their first win on this tour. The third match will be played on Monday 17th of April at this very venue and the game will start at 9.30 pm IST (5 pm GMT) but you can join us for the build-up well in advance. Until then, goodbye and cheers!

Tom Latham the skipper of New Zealand says the team has been there and there about but they lost their way today around the 14th over. Adds that the credit must be given to Babar Azam for his brilliant inning as he was amazing. He adds that upfront the bowlers were near to perfect but we gave away a bit too many in the last four overs but says that this will be a learning curve for his team with which they will improve for sure. Claims that when the team is chasing a score over 190, partnerships become even more important and the lack of significant partnerships ended up costing them the game. He ends by saying that the team is not far behind from victory as they have lost the games with fine margins in crucial moments and they will come back stronger.

Babar Azam the captain of Pakistan is also the Player of the Match for his remarkable century. He says that he is really happy to perform and end up on the winning side today. He adds that he along with Mohammad Rizwan, got a good opening stand and later with Iftikhar Ahmed they did well to close the innings.  Adds that he is trying to play throughout the innings and looked to accelerate towards the end. Mentions that the most important thing was building up partnerships as back-to-back wickets never help any team. On his bowling outfit, he says that the bowlers are bowling beautifully and as a result, the team is doing amazing in the games that they are playing.

Time for the presentations...

Pakistan will be proud of their effort as they backed a good batting performance with some high-quality bowling. Haris Rauf was once again at his lethal best as he picked up 4 wickets in his four-over spell and conceded just 27 runs. Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, and Zaman Khan chipped in with a wicket each as they comfortably defended a massive target set by their batters. It was the skipper Babar Azam who set the tone for this game with a century in the first inning and was supported by Mohammad Rizwan who got to his half-century. They will be slightly worried about the mini-collapse in the middle overs but will be generally happy with the win.

New Zealand started the run chase tentatively with both the openers getting off to decent starts but could not convert it as they were dismissed in the quest to accelerate. Will Young struggled out in the middle and was dismissed on a low score but Mark Chapman continued his good form. Once again, he lacked partners at the other end as Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, and Rachin Ravindra all departed cheaply. Mark Chapman stayed unbeaten on 65 of just 40 deliveries but his efforts were in vain. The worry for them will be that even with the ball, Matt Henry is the only one who looks dangerous and will need to pick up their overall effort.

Pakistan have registered yet another comprehensive win and have taken a 2-0 lead in the series. They have shown their superiority over their opponents once again as they have dominated in all aspects of the game and have won by a huge margin of 38 runs. They are just one game away from sealing the series while New Zealand have loads of work to do if they are to want to avoid a demolition job on this tour.

Commentary

New Zealand need a good start here if they have any hopes of reaching this target.

We are back for the runchase. Chad Bowes and Tom Latham will open the inning for New Zealand. Shaheen Afridi has the new ball and will begin proceedings. Let's go...

For the Kiwis, Matt Henry was the standout bowler as he managed to pick up a couple of wickets giving away just 29 runs. He was well helped by James Neesham and Rachin Ravindra who scaled a wicket each. The target is not a big one, but looking at what happened in the 1st T20 international New Zealand would be looking to put up a fight in this game and level the series by chasing this down.

It is all about Babar Azam at the moment as the everyone looks to be still celebrating his outstanding knock! We are at the halfway stage of this game as Pakistan has posted a total of 192 runs in their quota of 20 overs. After being asked to bat, Pakistan started off well with the opening stand of 99 runs before Mohammad Rizwan eventually got out after notching up his half-century. There was a cluster of wickets in the middle stage but Iftikhar Ahmed and Babar Azam batted brilliantly and managed to post a total that the bowlers can fight for and defend. Babar Azam batted to the very end and scored 17 runs in the last over to reach the landmark.

TOSS - The captains are out in the middle. The coin is flipped into the air and lands in favor of Pakistan. They have elected to BAT first.

New Zealand on the contrary had a day to forget as they were poor in all three departments of the game. The bowlers were able to bowl out the hosts but the batters couldn't back it up and were bundled out on 94. Mark Chapman was the only one who showed some resilience and fought for the side but was not backed up by anyone. The Kiwis would be heavily relying upon the top order to fire if they are to have a better time in this outing. Will they be able to overcome their disappointment and get their first win on this long tour? Or will Pakistan continue their dominance? We will find out soon. Stay tuned for the toss and team updates.

Pakistan won the first game convincingly despite being in a situation of bother at one point in time when they were batting. They still managed to post a solid total on the board and their bowling was spot on as they did not let the visitors get to the three-figure mark. Haris Rauf was outstanding with the ball and the same would be expected of him in the second game as well. Young sensation Saim Ayub was brilliant with the bat along with the experienced head of Fakhar Zaman though the team would be looking for a better display from ace batter Babar Azam.

Hello, and a warm welcome, ladies and gentlemen to our coverage of the second match in the five-match T20I series as Pakistan take on New Zealand at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. The hosts have a 1-0 lead in this long series and will want to take an early advantage by maintaining their winning momentum. The Kiwis will want the forget their last match in a hurry and have an opportunity to reverse their fortune by leveling the series in this quick turnaround.

... MATCH DAY ...

It is time for the second T20I of the New Zealand tour of Pakistan. The first game was dominated by the hosts as they won it comprehensively with a margin of 88 runs. The hosts scored a good total as Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub put up a good show. Pakistan though went on a bit of a rollercoaster ride after Ayub’s wicket. The men in green kept losing wickets at regular intervals but they also assured the run rate kept growing. They will look to have a steady start and restrict their loss of wickets in their next game. On the bowling front, Haris Rauf was quick to wrap up the tail and bagged her career-best T20I figures of 4/18. They will be pleased with their performance and will look to put up a better show in front of their home crowd. For the visitors, it was just a bad day. They were off to a shaky start inside the Powerplay. None of their batters performed well and they will look to bounce back. The hosts have started the series on an assertive note and they will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Can they do it? Or will the Kiwis bounce back and level the series? Let's find out together.
