Pathum Nissanka is tempted in the flight as he looks to hit this wide of long on. A tough choice of shot as he has to fetch this one from outside off. Nissanka does not commit to the shot and just chips it towards long on where Riyan Parag runs to his right and takes it. Sri Lanka lose their first wicket at the score of 58, requiring 80 runs in 67 balls.

An optimistic shout for LBW but the umpire is unmoved! Ravi Bishnoi, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav have a confab and in the end, India do not take the review. PITCH REPORT - Russel Arnold is near the deck. He starts by saying that it is tough to predict the weather but the ground staff are hopeful that the strong winds will blow the clouds away. Adds that there might be intermittent showers but it should remain dry till 10-10:30 pm local time (the game will start at 8 pm local time). Russel informs that a fresh surface will be used for this game. Further says that this wicket is a lot drier and it looks very rough. Opines that the ball will grip but the wicket will be on the slower side. Reckons that the pacers will be effective with their slower deliveries. Feels that the captain winning the toss will look to bowl first with the possibility of a shortened game and dew. Tells that 160-170 will be a good score batting first. Says that the slower you bowl, the harder it will be for the batters to hit.
