Bajpur is one of the Assembly constituencies of the Udham Singh Nagar district in Uttarakhand. There were a total of 1,36,192 voters in the Bajpur constituency during the 2017 Assembly elections. This year, the voting is scheduled to be held in a single phase in Uttarakhand i.e. on February 14, 2022. In 2017, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party, Yashpal Arya won the seat with a margin of 12,636 votes. However, he joined the Congress party in October 2021 and has been fielded as the Congress candidate from the seat this time. Whereas, the BJP has fielded Rajesh Kumar from the seat this time. It must be noted that this Assembly seat falls under the Nainital-Udhamsingh Nagar Lok Sabha constituency, which is represented by BJP's Ajay Bhatt.
