Commentary
Ireland will be eager to chase this down. The bowlers have done the job and it is now upto the batters to finish it up. It was once again their seamers who did the job for them. Barry McCarthy, and Craig Young were exceptional. Right then! Just 111 runs to win. You expect Ireland to chase it down easily. Afghanistan though need to show some fight. So, Afghanistan need 111 runs to win. The bowlers have done an incredible job in this match. Afghanistan had 7 wickets in hand at the start! Hashmatullah Shahidi though fell right at the start. His wicket opened the gates for Ireland who with their consistent lines and lengths got the rewards. Rahmanullah Gurbaz fell and the tail didn't add much as well. However, Naveed Zadran's knock helped Afghanistan get something to bowl at. Not a good performance by Afghanistan, they have really let themselves down with the bat.

Commentary
Afghanistan will be happy with how they did in this session. Ireland at one time seemed like taking a lead of over 150 but Zia ur Rehman did well and finished with a fifer. Still a stiff task ahead, they need to bat well now and show more character and application. The Irish on the other hand, will love a similar performance to their first innings.
A good batting display from the Irish and they will feel they are in a good position in this game. They did not have anyone play a big innings but had a few decent partnerships which has helped them stretch their lead to over 100. Stirling was their highest scorer but the others contributed too with some decent scores. Overall, they'll be pleased with their effort.

Afghanistan didn't see it coming. They opted to bat first but wouldn't have imagined this kind of score. Only Ibrahim Zadran stood up for them, no one supported him! Afghanistan though lost him right after the Lunch break and if not for Janat's 41, they would have ended around 100. Still, not the start they would have liked to the game and now they have to bowl really well to keep Ireland under pressure. They have to be as consistent as Ireland were! Tea is taken as well. An outstanding performance by the Irish team and they will be so happy right now. 10 wickets inside one and a half sessions and it was Mark Adair who made Afghanistan dance to his tunes. He was right on the money from the start. Bowled good lengths and lines and took two wickets in an over. Barry McCarthy and Craig Young supported him well too. Ireland after the lunch struck rightaway, removing Zadran and Rehman in quick succession. Curtis Campher followed it with two wickets in a row. However, Mark Adair was the pick with five wickets!

Commentary
That's it from this game, a day to remember for the Irish as they bag their first Test win. They'll be hoping it is just the start. Afghanistan on the other hand, have a lot to improve. Andy Balbirnie says he is very happy. They were really good through out. Adds they bowled really well and with a lot of discipline. Chasing a small target, they did lose four wickets early but Tucker and Balbirnie played brilliantly. They added over 50. Balbirnie scored a fine half-ton and Tucker supported him well to create history for Ireland.
It was Ireland's pacers yet again who shined the second time around. They yet again bowled out Afghanistan for a moderate total. Young, Barry and Adair all ended with three wickets each and ensured they did not have to chase a big score.
In reply, a combined batting effort saw them take a lead of around 100. Stirling was the star with the bat with a half-ton but there were a few more who got to decent scores which helped them get that lead.
History has been created! This is Ireland's first-ever Test win and it is a convincing one in the end. Right from Day 1 they have dominated. First, they bowled Afghanistan for a low score thanks to a fifer from Adair.

Hello and welcome to the action of Day 3. This match is moving at a fast pace and we feel whoever dominates Day 3 will have the upper hand in this game. Ireland though have done well so far to stay a foot ahead of their host. They batted well in the second innings and took a lead of more than 100 runs. However, Afghanistan gave a befitting reply by cutting out the trail in more than a session itself. Afghanistan lead right now by 26 runs. Commentary
Afghanistan will be happy with how they did in this session. Ireland at one time seemed like taking a lead of over 150 but Zia ur Rehman did well and finished with a fifer. Still a stiff task ahead, they need to bat well now and show more character and application. The Irish on the other hand, will love a similar performance to their first innings.
A good batting display from the Irish and they will feel they are in a good position in this game. They did not have anyone play a big innings but had a few decent partnerships which has helped them stretch their lead to over 100. Afghanistan began well but then it was hard work for their bowlers. The wicket isn't offering a lot and their bowlers had to toil hard. They were rewarded right towards the end and they'll hope this opens the floodgates. Will they dominate after the break? We will find out.
That wicket right at the end will give Afghanistan a lot of relief. Before that, this session was mostly about Ireland. They lost Tector early but Tucker and Stirling batted really well. They added around 80 and took their side into the lead. It seemed that Ireland would go into the break five down but Stirling fell right towards the end of the session. Ireland though will hope they can have a couple of such partnerships and push that lead over the 100 run mark.

Ireland in reply lost their captain early on but Curtis Campher played brilliantly along with Harry Tector adding around 60 runs. Just at the stroke of stumps though Campher fell and the nightwatchmen, Theo van Woerkom too. Ireland still have a lot of batting left. For the hosts, Naveed Zadran and Zia ur Rehman bowled well but need more from others. Afghanistan will hope to pressurize Ireland in the first session on Day 2. An eventful day comes to end! Ireland will be happier of the two sides though. Afghanistan opted to bat first but were pushed on the back foot mainly by Mark Adair who was on top of his game. He bowled good lines and lengths and got two wickets in an over. Barry McCarthy and Craig Young supported him well too. Afghanistan tried to get back on track through Ibrahim Zadran but he too fell right after the Lunch break after his fifty. Karim Janat tried to show some fight but got no able support from the other end. Mark Adair was the pick as he ended with a five-for.

Afghanistan didn't see it coming. They opted to bat first but wouldn't have imagined this kind of score. Only Ibrahim Zadran stood up for them, no one supported him! Afghanistan though lost him right after the Lunch break and if not for Janat's 41, they would have ended around 100. Still, not the start they would have liked to the game and now they have to bowl really well to keep Ireland under pressure. They have to be as consistent as Ireland were! Tea is taken as well. An outstanding performance by the Irish team and they will be so happy right now. 10 wickets inside one and a half sessions and it was Mark Adair who made Afghanistan dance to his tunes. He was right on the money from the start. Bowled good lengths and lines and took two wickets in an over. Barry McCarthy and Craig Young supported him well too. LUNCH! Excellent start to the game! Ireland though will be the happy team right now. They were right on the money from the start. Mark Adair was very disciplined with his lines and lengths. He struck twice to put Afghanistan on the back foot but the hosts replied well with Zadran and Hashmatullah Shahidi playing some beautiful strokes and getting back on track. Both added around 50 runs before Hashmatullah Shahidi gave away his wicket down the leg side. Ibrahim Zadran though has held one end well with his fifty and will hope that Rahmanullah Gurbaz can glue with him to build a big stand. Afghanistan recently played a Test match against their Asian rivals, Sri Lanka but were beaten comprehensively by them. There were lots of positive though from the match.
