Bangladesh beat Australia by 10 runs

Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur

So, that is it from this game! Bangladesh have not only won the game but also the series. Still, two games to go through in this series with the 4th T20I being played on Saturday. That game begins at 1800 local (1200 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!

Mahmudullah, Man of the Match, says the way boys fought was brilliant. States it was not a 150 wicket, he and Shakib Al Hasan knew that one of them needed to bat deep as it was not easy for a new batter as the Aussies were bowling really well. States they wanted early wickets and build pressure and Fizz was excellent but it was a combined effort from everyone.

Matthew Wade says the bowlers have been really good, they kept them in most of the games but they have not taken the opportunity with the bat which is disappointing. States they never thought it was going to be an easy chase, they know Bangladesh is good towards the death and it was only going to get tougher and tougher. States the third wicket partnership was good and it laid a foundation but he is disappointed they could not close it out. Credits the way Nathan Ellis bowled but he hopes they can finish the tour with two wins.

...Stay tuned for the presentation...

For Australia once again, Marsh was the star! This time though he got able support from Ben McDermott but the latter fell at the wrong moment. The others failed to contribute and also, lack of boundaries made it difficult. Once Marsh fell after getting to his half-ton, Australia needed a miracle. Mahedi Hasan did bowl an extremely poor 20th over but he did manage to defend the runs he had to. Overall, Australia will be pretty disappointed with how their batting has panned out in this series.

Have to say, this is a commendable effort from the hosts! What a performance! No matter how difficult the wicket is, defending something around 130 is never easy and they have done so AGAIN! Yes, it is a combined effort with the ball but there has to be a special mention for that one guy, probably the best left-arm pacer going around in this format, Mustafizur Rahman. He just gave away 9 runs in his 4 overs, he did not pick a wicket but take anything away from his efforts. He bowled tough overs, overs where the pressure was on Bangladesh and he shone with flying colors. However, it was Shakib and Nasum who put the pressure earlier on but the Fizz along with the youngster Shoriful Islam did brilliantly in the middle overs and towards the death.

Jubilation amongst the Bangladesh players! What a night for them! What a win for them! Just outstanding. For the very first time, they have won any kind of a series against the mighty Aussies and they have done it with two games to go. Stunning stuff.

The target is not a big one but it is not going to be easy! Can Australia chase this down or will Bangladesh seal the series?

The Australians started off really well but let the pressure off in the middle overs! The key for them was, they kept picking wickets at regular intervals but more than their bowling, it was their fielding which was really good and courtesy that, they saved quite a few runs for their side. Just the three bowlers were successful in picking wickets but expect for Ellis, who in the end had exceptional figures, the rest were quite economical.

Coming to the game now, Bangladesh have finished with just short of a total they defended in the first game! Not sure if they will actually be happy with that or they felt they could have got more. Well, if you think in normal circumstances, 127 is not close to par but by what we have seen so far in this series, it is a very good score. They have just the one man to thank and that is their skipper, Mahmudullah, he walked out when they were 3 for 2, he kept losing partners but held fort at one end and courtesy his fifty has take Bangladesh to a fighting total. Yes, there were a few decent innings from Afif and Shakib but he was the star.

What an end to the innings for Nathan Ellis! The way he celebrated the last wicket just shows how pleased he was, he probably did not believe it himself that he had taken a hat-trick. A day to remember for him. He becomes the first bowler to take a hat-trick in T20Is on debut.

OUT! Hossain has given it away! Really not sure if they needed to take this run. However, that is exceptional work from Carey! He is a keeper but he has done brilliantly here. On off, Afif pushes it towards cover and takes off. He was never going to make it. Carey gets to the ball from covers and as he is falling underarms it onto the stumps at the bowler's end. The Aussies know Hossain is short and they start to celebrate. It is taken upstairs and replays show that he is well short. Really important wicket as Afif was playing brilliantly and this partnership was going along really well.

An umpire review has been taken for Run Out. Looks like the batter was way out of his crease.

11.5 lb 1

NOT OUT! Umpre's call it is and it did seem like that would be the case! This lands on off and then grips, holds its line. Mahmudullah ends up playing down the wrong line, it hits him on the pad. An appeal but the umpire does not raise the finger. They take one. The keeper has a shy at the keeper's end but misses. It goes down to long on for one more. The review is taken. Replays show that impact was just outside off and the ball was clipping the off pole.

A review has been taken for LBW. It is Umpire's call, so the on-field decision stays. Review retained by Australia.

Agar from long off runs to his left and looks to take it with a slide but his back foot gets stuck in the ground. The good thing for the visitors is that he hangs on. 0.1 1

Starts with a flatter ball, angling on middle. Naim tucks it to the on side and takes a quick single. Mohammad Naim and Bangladesh are underway straightaway.

We are all set for the action to begin! The Bangladesh openers, Mohammad Naim and Soumya Sarkar walk out to the middle. Australia on the other hand, start off with a spinner, Ashton Turner it is. Not a bad move, he bowled well against the Windies and with two-left handers out there, he could well be handy.

PITCH REPORT - Farveez Maharoof says it is going to get tougher for the batters. There is hardly any grass and it is not going to be easy to bat. Ends by saying the spinners in the middle will be the key for Bangladesh and anything close to 130 will be a good total.

AUSTRALIA (PLAYING XI) - Matthew Wade (WK/C), Ben McDermott ( IN FOR Josh Philippe), Mitchell Marsh, Moises Henriques, Alex Carey, Ashton Turner, Dan Christian (IN FOR Andrew Tye), Ashton Agar, Nathan Ellis (IN FOR Mitchell Starc), Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood.

BANGLADESH (UNCHANGED PLAYING XI) - Mohammad Naim, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahedi Hasan, Mahmudullah (C), Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan (WK), Shamim Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Nasum Ahmed.

Matthew Wade says they wanted to bowl, there is the weather around, he is not sure what is going to happen but he would have bowled. States there are three games left so they can still win the series but they need to get things right here. Informs they have three changes, Nathan Ellis, Dan Christian and Ben McDermott come in for Josh Philippe, Mitchell Starc and Andrew Tye.

Mahmudullah says they would want to put up a good total, the bowlers have done well and they would want to restrict them later on. Mentions it is a big opportunity for them and he hopes they can win. Informs they are unchanged.

TOSS - Up goes the coin and it lands in the favor of Bangladesh. They have ELECTED TO BAT FIRST!

UPDATE - Also, we have some timings now! The toss will take place at 1900 local and game will begin at 1915 local, provided there is no further rain.

THERE IS A DEBUTANT FOR THE AUSSIES! Starc has been seen handing the cap over to Nathan Ellis! For those who do not know, he is a pacer, he has been really impressive in the Big Bash in the last few overs and this was on the cards.

UPDATE 1837 local - Even better news now! All the covers are off! The clouds too seemed to have passed away. The toss can't be far away now. Stay tuned. There is now an inspection going on. Both the umpires are out there having a look with their masks on. Wade and Langer are out there having a look at the pitch. They would be desperately hoping for a wicket which is a little more batting friendly. The Bangladesh players are in a huddle. Also, we are entering the territory where we might start to lose some overs. Wade is in his yellows which means the toss is not far away now.

THE COVERS ARE COMING OFF AGAIN! The groundsmen are also doing their bit. Let us hope rain does not make its presence felt again.

The covers are back on! There is a slight drizzle and it is quite dark out there! The players too have gone back inside. The groundsmen have also made their way back into shelter so these are not good signs.

Good news! The rain has eased off, it has actually stopped! The groundsmen are doing their job and the players too are out in the middle warming up. The drainage here is excellent so we are hopeful of having a 20-over game.

Should have had the toss by now but, but, guess what has made its presence felt, THE RAIN! It has been delayed for now. Well, if there is rain here, there is no rain in Nottingham for now so you can catch all the action from the Test match where India's trail has gone below 30.

Isn't cricket a lot more fun when the bowlers are dominating? Well, high-scoring thrillers are also exciting but there is something that fascinates you when the bowlers make the ball talk. We are hoping for another turner of a wicket here, what about you?

Bowlers, bowlers dominating in Nottingham and here in Bangladesh too. It is the seamers there and it is the spinners here. Courtesy that, the hosts have a 2-0 lead in the series. Another win and that will see them bag the series with 2 games to go and they are favorites to do so. Does Australia have it in them to keep it alive? We will find out. Welcome to the coverage.
