With a leg slip in place, Ashwin drifts it down leg, on a fuller length, Mominul Haque gets inside the line and reaches out in front to play the sweep that has fetched him a lot of runs across both innings. A bit of extra bounce on this occasion and it results in the ball catching the shoulder of the bat and going quickly to the left of leg slip where KL Rahul stays low and takes it near his knees. PITCH REPORT - Murali Kartik and Athar Ali Khan are in the middle for the pitch report. Kartik says there are a lot of cracks on the surface which weren't visible on Day 1 and the low bounce will come into play. Athar adds that because of the bowler's foot marks, the spinners will have a good chance to extract more from it and Bangladesh will have to bat really well to save this match.

In the second session, India dominated with both ball and bat. They triggered a collapse to bowl Bangladesh out for 233, down from 205/6 at the start. Gets an inside edge onto the pads and the ball goes nowhere. It rolls near his feet but Kohli thinks that it has gone away for him to take the single. He sets off for the single but gets sent back by Pant halfway through the run. Virat is nowhere in the frame when Khaled Ahmed charges in off his follow through and bends to pick the ball up. He is inches away from the stumps at the batting end and has all the time in the world to walk towards the stumps and take the bails off. Instead, he opts to release an underarm throw from a couple of yards which does not hit the stumps. It rolls behind, allowing Kohli to make his ground.

NO BALL! On the pads, full and on the pads, Rishabh Pant flicks it to deep fine leg and gets a run. Khaled has overstepped.

India’s openers, Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, came out attacking, breaking the record for the fastest team fifty in Test cricket, reaching the milestone in just 18 balls. Mehidy Hasan’s introduction of spin paid off, as he removed Rohit Sharma, preventing a missed review from hurting Bangladesh. Jaiswal continued his aggressive innings, reaching his half-century with solid support from Shubman Gill before falling to Hasan Mahmud just before Tea.

Bangladesh’s batting fell apart quickly after Lunch, as India stuck to their plan. Starting the session at 205/6, Bangladesh collapsed to 233 all out. Jasprit Bumrah was pivotal, removing Mehidy Hasan, which led to the quick dismissal of the remaining batters. Mominul Haque fought alone for Bangladesh, staying unbeaten on 107, but got little support from the rest of the lineup.

SESSION SUMMARY - 24.2 overs, 166 runs and 6 wickets. Despite losing both openers, India will be satisfied with their position at Tea on Day 4, sitting comfortably at 138/2 after just 16 overs and trailing by just 95 more runs. The Indian bowlers executed their plan flawlessly to wrap up Bangladesh earlier in the session, and their aggressive approach with the bat has given them control.
