India have flexed their muscles to stamp their authority and have the Black Caps on the mat. It's now a matter of landing the knockout punch as New Zealand getting back on their feet looks highly unlikely. Still, cricket is a game of uncertainties and it has a habit of giving a reality check whenever you try to get too ahead of yourself. That record sixth wicket stand between Brendon McCullum and BJ Watling against India in 2014 is still fresh in our memories. A game that looked done and dusted on Day 4 got stretched deep into Day 5. Daryl Mitchell is down for a chat. He says that Agrawal set the template with the way he batted against the spinners. Adds that it is about finding ways to put pressure on the bowlers. Mentions that it is about constantly adapting to the situation and what the opposition is doing, it is always nice to spend time in the middle. He accepts that they are in a tough situation and it will be challenging from here to save this Test.

For India, it was the Ashwin show, he got three of the 5 to fall and bowled beautifully. Axar also got one. Yadav and the seamers were a tad disappointing. They could have had Nicholls too had India taken the review on Yadav's bowling. However, they will be pretty pleased with the day.

Another session which belongs to India! 4 wickets is what they got and they are just the 5 wickets away from winning this game! A very strange approach from the Kiwis in this session. They came out with fire, they looked to play shots especially, Mitchell, Taylor and Young. It did not come off that well for Young and Taylor but Mitchell played really well for his half ton. Nicholls gave him good support. Once Mitchell fell though Blundell did not last for long but Nicholls and Ravindra ensured there were no more wickets to fall.

The story is the same for the Kiwis. It is Ajaz who is picking wickets at one end and Southee keeping it tight at the other. They need more from the others. They would be eager to get India all out so that they don’t have to spend a lot of time in this heat. Will there be a fightback from them in the next session?

India continue to pile on the misery on the Kiwis. It was Mayank and Pujara who started the day well. Mayank got to his half ton, before the two fell in quick succession to Ajaz Patel. Now Kohli and Gill are amidst another strong stand. The lead is already one which we believe is enough, how much more will India want?

Tossed up on off. Shubman Gill pushes it to the fielder at short extra cover. So India are 142/2 on Lunch on day 3 of this Test match.

The umpires do go upstairs wanting to make sure it's a clean catch and after having a good look at it, the third umpire decides that the fingers were underneath the ball. Cheteshwar Pujara has to depart after a positive outing.

Has that been taken cleanly? The umpires have gone upstairs to check. Yes, it has been taken cleanly as shown in the replay. The shadows made it a bit difficult to judge but there's conclusive evidence that Taylor's fingers were under the ball.

Murali Kartik and Deep Dasgupta are pitchside. They say that 16 wickets fell on Day 2 and the pitch is not necessarily a spinner's paradise right now and there aren't any demons in the pitch itself. The best way to counter the turn for a batter is to use his feet just like Mayank Agarwal did and unsettle the bowler. The batters will find it difficult to get going but if they spend enough time, runs can be scored.

The Kiwis, on the back of a historical bowling display from Ajaz Patel, kept the hosts to a score of under 350. Their batting though left a lot to ponder as the visitors were bundled out for just 62. Not having picked up a single Indian wicket yet in the second innings means that today could be another long and hard day for New Zealand. Can they stage a miraculous comeback? We'll have to wait and watch.

Hello and a warm welcome to Day 3 of the second Test match between India and New Zealand. Day 2 moved at rapid pace as 16 wickets fell in the day. After a mini collapse with the bat, the Indian bowlers came out with fire in their belly and put on a stunning display as they bundled out the Kiwis for their lowest Test score against India. The hosts have the match firmly in their grip as they stretched their lead to 332 runs and it'll be interesting to see how long they decide to bat as a lot of time is still left in this match.

... Day 3, Session 1 ...

For the Kiwis, it would be nothing less than a miracle if they salvage something out of this game. All they can do for now is show tremendous character and just not let India go along their merry way. They would hope to pick wickets quickly because that is the only way they would have a slender chance in this game. After the demoralizing batting effort, do they have any fight left in them? Mayank Agarwal is up for a quick chat. He says that it felt amazing and that innings was all about grit and determination. Adds that he did not change his technique much because it was more of a mental battle. Mentions that he needs to stay positive against the spinners, against someone like Ajaz Patel who was bowling brilliantly so it's necessary to put the other bowlers under the pump a bit. Adds that the Indian domestic circuit is very tough and one needs to apply his skills to the maximum in order to do well. Ends by saying that they will look to bat well tomorrow and set a target for the opposition.

We really do not need to mention to whom this day belongs day! Day 2 just ended but it seems like this Test is heading towards just one result and that is an India win. After they got to 325, courtesy of a fifty from Axar and a brilliant 150 from Mayank Agarwal, their bowlers demolished the Kiwi batting line-up. They had the choice of enforcing the follow-on but they decided to bat yet again. The lead is now well above 300 and they have all 10 wickets in hand. The question here arises, how many more runs will India want? Time is not an issue so they could bat for as long as they would like to.
