As it stands, Bangladesh are just 63 runs away from completing a historic whitewash over Pakistan. Both Shanto and Haque played a few loose shots, which they will need to avoid as they aim to chase down the target themselves and not leave the task to others. With the pitch beginning to ease out, batting conditions are likely to improve, making it more challenging for Pakistan to create opportunities. End of a cagey session, one where Bangladesh, despite the early setbacks, inched closer to creating history. As for Pakistan, they knew they needed to tighten up right from the start, and they did start well. Their pacers, Mir Hamza and Khurram Shahzad, executed a game plan of bowling full, which paid off as they created early breakthroughs. With the openers dismissed, Mominul Haque stepped up to relieve some pressure, and Najmul Hossain Shanto despite a nervy start, grew in confidence as the innings progressed. There were moments when Pakistan missed the trick by not having a third slip in place, a major one where Mominul nicked off but it raced away through the vacant third slip which could have made a difference.

Hasan Mahmud is up for an interview and he talks about his five wickets in the second innings of the match, saying that he is really happy he did it for his country. He further adds that the fast bowling team of Bangladesh has been really kind to him, giving him the experience and the push needed. He further spoke about his partnership with Litton Das in the first innings saying that he was confident enough to carry the bat with Litton and get his team closer to the first innings score. He ends by saying that its a good opportunity for the team to seal the series and they are confident to get the win.

PITCH REPORT - Bazid Khan is near the deck. He notes that Hasan Mahmud got the ball to swing effectively by pitching it up and he made the batters play those deliveries. Feels that Pakistan will need to adopt a similar approach, encouraging the batters to drive. Bazid opines that relying on short balls will not be as effective, instead, consistent full-length deliveries will be key to building pressure.

Earlier on Day 4, Pakistan resumed their second innings precariously placed at 9/2 and never really recovered, as the Bangladesh pace attack wreaked havoc. Hasan Mahmud was the star of the show, claiming his maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket, becoming the first Bangladeshi pacer to achieve such a feat on Pakistani soil. His performance, alongside contributions from Nahid Rana and Taskin Ahmed, marked the first time all ten wickets were taken by Bangladesh pacers in a Test innings, as Pakistan were bowled out for 172. Agha Salman and Mohammad Rizwan offered some resistance with a 55-run partnership for the seventh wicket, but it wasn’t enough to set a more formidable target. Rizwan, who was hit on the helmet during his innings of 43, did not return to the field, with Sarfaraz Ahmed taking over the keeping duties.

Right then, an abrupt end to the day but not before we witnessed some entertaining action. Heading into the final day, Bangladesh hold the upper hand with all 10 wickets intact and needing 143 more runs to win. Pakistan, taken aback by the aggressive approach from the openers, will need to strike early on Day 5 to turn the tide. The forecast, unfortunately, does not look promising for the final day, with rain expected to potentially impact play. Earlier, as Pakistan began the day with a 21-run lead, Shan Masood and Saim Ayub provided a promising start, getting their side past the first half hour. However, the situation unravelled quickly once this stand was broken. Nahid Rana set the tone up front with three wickets in the first session, and then Hasan Mahmud dashed Pakistan's hopes of recovery with twin strikes. Agha Salman fought a lone battle while batting with the tail to stretch the lead. Despite his efforts, the hosts could only manage 172 runs.

In pursuit of 185 runs, Zakir Hasan started aggressively, taking the attack to the opposition. His brisk start resulted in Bangladesh scoring 37 runs off the 6 overs before Tea to take the wind out of Pakistan's sails. The highlight of the day for Bangladesh was their two young pacers, Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana. In just his third Test, Mahmud secured his maiden five-wicket haul and became the first Bangladeshi pacer to take five wickets or more in Pakistan. Rana also made a significant impact, claiming four wickets and further cementing the visitors' control.

UPDATE - 11.24 am GMT - Unfortunately, folks, we are done for the day. STUMPS have been called on Day 4! The rain has had the final say, and we’ll have to wait until the final day to see how the Test concludes. The third session promised a lot as the players returned to the field with dark clouds in the distance. After just one over, it got extremely dark, and the umpires took a light reading. They deemed the light not good enough and the players had to leave the field.

UPDATE - 10.59 am GMT - The rain gods have finally made their appearance and it's pouring down at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The chances of the game resuming today seem bleak at the moment but let's hope for the best.

UPDATE - 10.41 am GMT - While the square and the playing surface weren’t covered initially, the ground staff have now started to cover the strip and the square. Lightning can also be seen in the distance, and more covers are being brought on as it has gotten even darker.

UPDATE - 10.21 am GMT - Uh oh! It has gotten quite dark, and the two umpires are taking a light reading. They’ve determined that the light is not good enough for play to continue. The players are walking off the field, and the groundsmen are thinking about bringing on the covers as a precaution. There is no rain to be seen at the moment but dark clouds have been around the ground for some time now. We hope that we get to see the play resume in some time, but for now, it's a waiting game.

Bangladesh came out with the intent of breaking the back of the chase early, and they have started well. This aggressive approach has left Pakistan stunned. When they return after Tea, they will need to find answers quickly to counter Bangladesh's momentum and turn the game in their favour. What hasn’t worked in the hosts' favour is the lack of movement, which was prominent on the morning of Day 3. Earlier in the session, Mohammad Rizwan and Agha Salman resumed their recovery efforts for Pakistan. Just as Rizwan was settling in, Hasan Mahmud induced a false shot from him. Mahmud’s twin strikes further set Pakistan back, leaving Agha Salman to once again play a crucial role with the tail. He did a decent job, but with little support from the other end, Pakistan eventually ended up with 172 on the board.

Bangladesh have come out firing, haven’t they? Another session that well and truly belonged to Bangladesh in this Test. Chasing 185 runs for victory, the visitors have shown they mean business, with Zakir Hasan leading the charge. He’s batted with intent and authority, while Shadman Islam has looked much more compact than he did in the first innings. With the ball, Hasan Mahmud was the standout performer for the visitors, claiming a five-wicket haul and becoming the first Bangladeshi pacer to achieve this milestone in Pakistan. Nahid Rana also made a significant impact, ending with four wickets to his name.

Things could have been even worse if Shadman Islam had not dropped Mohammad Rizwan on the very first ball he faced. Rizwan, undeterred by a blow to the helmet, remained proactive and kept the scoreboard ticking. Although he showed signs of feeling the after-effects of the blow, Rizwan chose to continue until the break. Pakistan scored 108 runs in the first session at the loss of 4 wickets and they currently lead by 129 runs.

End of yet another fascinating session of Test cricket! The session didn’t begin as Bangladesh would have hoped, but they’ll be pleased with where the Test stands at the end of the first session. Shan Masood and Saim Ayub got Pakistan off to a bright start, looking largely untroubled until their dismissals. Once both set batters fell, Pakistan’s innings took a rapid downturn. Nahid Rana turned up the heat, and the hosts slumped from 62-3 to 81-6.

Litton Das is in for a chat. He expresses his satisfaction with scoring against a strong team like Pakistan in Test cricket. He admits he was nervous at the start, but Mehidy Hasan's encouragement helped calm his nerves. Litton mentions that after getting hit on the elbow early on, Mehidy took the initiative, and as he began to feel better after the second session, he started playing his shots more confidently.

PITCH REPORT - Nick Compton is pitchside. He informs that the indentations from Day 2 have hardened, causing the ball to seam. Litton Das, however, was not done yet. He continued his innings with determination and reached his fourth Test century, a knock that held the Bangladesh innings together. Alongside Hasan Mahmud, Das added a further 69 runs for the ninth wicket, frustrating the Pakistani bowlers who were searching for a quick end to the innings. Eventually, Salman Ali Agha managed to dismiss Das for a valiant 138, breaking the stubborn 69-run partnership. Bangladesh's innings concluded at 262 runs in 78.4 overs, just 12 runs shy of Pakistan's first-innings total. The final few overs of the day were crucial, and Pakistan needed to avoid further setbacks. However, Bangladesh struck early, with Abdullah Shafique falling, chasing a wide delivery before the nightwatchman Khurram Shahzad fell on what ended up being the final ball of the day.

But cricket, especially in the longest format, often throws up surprises, and Day 3 was no exception. Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan orchestrated a phenomenal rescue act for Bangladesh, demonstrating resilience and composure under pressure. Their partnership for the seventh wicket, worth 165 runs, was a record-breaking feat. For the first time in Test cricket history, a seventh-wicket stand crossed 150 runs after the first six wickets fell for under 30. Mehidy played a crucial role with his well-crafted 78 before finally succumbing to Shahzad just before the Tea break.

Day 3 began with Bangladesh at 10/0, facing a tricky task after two overs the previous evening. However, the morning session was all about Pakistan's bowlers, particularly Khurram Shahzad, who unleashed a sensational spell. Bangladesh's top order crumbled, unable to cope with the relentless attack, and they found themselves reeling at 26/6 by the 12th over. With scattered showers expected over the next two days, Shan Masood and the Pakistani think tank will need to carefully manage their time to ensure they can bowl Bangladesh out in the second innings. Earlier in the day, Pakistan staged a remarkable turnaround as Khurram Shahzad and Mir Hamza dismantled the Bangladesh top 6 within the first 11 overs. With Bangladesh at a precarious 26/6, their record-lowest team total of 43 in Tests seemed under threat. However, Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan staged a marathon recovery with a 165-run stand. Their partnership was brought to an end by Khurram Shahzad who went on to scalp another in his following over. Never before in the history of Test cricket had there been a 7th wicket partnership of 150 or more runs after the first 6 wickets had fallen for 30 runs or fewer. It was indeed a monumental effort from Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan.

At the start of the third session, trailing by 81 runs with only two wickets remaining, Bangladesh's hopes hinged on Litton Das. He leveraged his experience while batting with Hasan Mahmud, and edged Bangladesh closer to parity with his 4th Test ton. As the new ball approached, he took on Agha Salman but fell in the process. Nahid Rana was unable to add to the score, leaving Bangladesh with 262 on the board and Pakistan holding a slender 12-run lead. The Test was left hanging in the balance as a one-inning shootout. Pakistan's openers faced a challenging 20-minute period to see out the remaining overs. Abdullah Shafique's difficult Test continued, and in the final over of the day,  the nightwatchman Khurram Shahzad was dismissed by a stunning delivery from Hasan Mahmud, leaving Pakistan with 8 wickets in hand and a 21-run lead.

End of a fantastic day of Test cricket! This is why we love the format, don't we? The dramatic ebbs and flows have kept us on the edge of our seats, and it continues to deliver moments of pure excitement. While the first session went Pakistan's way, the next couple of sessions saw a fight back from Bangladesh, leaving the Test delicately poised at the end of Day 3.

The ball goes on to hit the top of the off stump and Day 3 of the Test match comes to an end with Pakistan at 9/2 with the lead of 21 runs.

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Litton Das grabs an easy catch and Bangladesh players go up in joy! Hasan Mahmud gets the first breakthrough and sends back the struggling Abdullah Shafique. Swings the ball away from the right-hander this time and Abdullah Shafique stays on the crease and pokes at the delivery away from his body, getting an outside edge behind to the keeper, Litton Das who does the rest.

Big swing into the batter, fuller on the stumps, and Abdullah Shafique gets a thick inside edge to the right of square leg for a couple of runs more as he tries to push at the ball.

The Ball Tracking shows the ball to be clipping the leg stump and it is umpire's call. The on-field decision is upheld. Bangladesh are bundled out for 262 runs.

OUT! CAUGHT! Saim Ayub grabs a very well-judged catch to end a brilliant innings from the lone warrior of Bangladesh, Litton Das! Agha Salman fires the ball into the pitch as he sees Litton Das stepping down the track for a big shot. Litton Das gets this one off the the toe end, a rare sight in this innings from him and it goes flat and low to the right of long on. Saim Ayub at long on makes a good sprint to his right and dives, grabbing the ball with both hands inches above the ground. A much-needed breakthrough for Pakistan. End of a marathon innings from Litton Das as he falls for 138 with Bangladesh trailing by 12 runs.

Drinks break! This partnership continues to frustrate Pakistan, who seem to be going through the motions, waiting for a mistake from either batter. At 26/6, few would have imagined that Bangladesh would be where they are currently, trailing by only 15 runs. A chance came Pakistan's way in Khurram Shahzad's previous over but it was grassed by Shan Masood. We are four overs away before the second new ball will be due for Pakistan.

SIX! Bangladesh now trail by only 15 runs! Litton Das hits his fourth six of the innings! Abrar Ahmed fires the ball into the right-hander and Litton Das walks across and gets low to slog sweep it over square leg and gets brilliant timing on the ball to take it for a flat six.
