We are onto match 19 of the 2025 Indian Premier League season, as the Sunrisers Hyderabad gear up for their third home game of the season, where they will be taking on the Gujarat Titans. The Sunrisers are in dire search of a win as they have lost 3 games on the trot coming into this contest. After their first game of the season where they got 286, their batting department hasn’t been anywhere near their best. Abhishek Sharma hasn’t gotten a single double-digit score this season, while Ishan Kishan, who scored a terrific 100 in the first game, has now faced 3 consecutive failures. Heinrich Klaasen has got starts but hasn’t yet converted any of them into big scores, while Travis Head has now failed in two consecutive games after getting two consecutive fifties. Their only shining light has been the introduction of Aniket Verma in their middle order, who has batted with serious intent and has been consistent with it, too. Their bowling attack hasn’t been at its best either. They have lagged a proper wicket-taker as Pat Cummins and Co. have failed to take wickets at regular intervals. They are currently trying to solve that issue through their leg spinner, Zeeshan Ansari, who has given glimpses of his ability with the ball. Their pacers, apart from the Powerplay phase, have been poor from the word go, as they have leaked runs at an alarming rate. Their captain, Pat Cummins, has been their most expensive pacer having given away runs in excess of 10 an over in this season. On the other hand, the Gujarat Titans are breathing easily as they are coming into the game on the back of two consecutive wins. Add to that the fact, that both their wins have been comfortable ones. After a run-fest against the Punjab Kings in their season opener, their bowling attack has come together as a unit, led by Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Sai Kishore, who have controlled the Powerplay and middle-overs phase. Rashid Khan hasn’t had the best of starts to the season, and GT would be hoping for him to come good in this game. Kagiso Rabada has flown back home due to personal reasons which is a big blow to GT. GT’s batting has clicked nicely so far, led by Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler, who have scored consistently in each of the 3 games. Their captain, Shubman Gill, has got some starts, and he would be eager to get a big score in the upcoming game. Sherfane Rutherford’s addition has been handy for the Titans, as he too has played some effective cameos. So, coming to this game, we might have run fest in the store, as both the powerhouse batting line-ups would be looking to score heavily. Will the SRH batting regain its lost touch and get a much-needed 'W,' or will the Gill-led GT win their third straight game? We shall find out.
