UPDATE - 10.42 pm IST (5.12 pm GMT) - Oops! It has started to rain again! The trend of a wicket bringing about rain has continued even in the ODI series. The ground staff rush in with the covers and have now covered the entire square. The rain has come at the wrong time for the West Indies who were into India's tail and were just two wickets away from bowling them out. Just as we type, the rain has subsided and the ground staff have removed the covers as well. Stick around as resumption is not far away.

Ouch, that must have hurt! Alzarri Joseph bowls a quick short ball and angles it into the body. Umran Malik tries to get out of the way by backing away but the pace is just too much and he gets hit on the body.

PITCH REPORT - Shakera Selman and Daren Ganga are pitchside. Ganga says that the boundaries are pretty much the same and it is the same pitch used on the first ODI. Selman adds that a lot of grass has been rolled into the deck and bowlers might get some extra bounce. Ganga then informs that there was variable bounce last time around and it might be the same yet again along with the dominance of spinners. Selman ends by saying that the batters will face a stern challenge but the firmness might allow them to score a bit easier.

Hardik Pandya, the stand-in skipper of India, says that they wanted to bat first anyway. Adds that they want to challenge the batters by batting first. Mentions that they want to know how much they can score while batting first. Shares that the wicket was up and down in the last game. Informs that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are resting as a few questions need to be answered. Reckons that it was a tremendous bowling effort and the fielding was equally good. Feels that they could have finished the game well rather than being 5 wickets down. Ends by informing that Sanju Samson and Axar Patel come into the side.

Shai Hope, the captain of West Indies says that they will bowl first and reckons that the conditions will help the bowlers early on. Adds that they need to put the last game behind them and look ahead to performing better. Mentions that the pitch has been a bit uncertain but both teams have to play on it, so, it's okay. Says that they have the opportunity to bowl first here and will look to put the opposition under pressure. In the first ODI, the West Indies failed to show up with the bat, surrendering themselves against India's spin brilliance. Only 3 batters were able to reach double figures and as a result, they could only muster 114 runs. Skipper Shai Hope fought a lone fight and would want others to put their hands up in this fixture. Gudakesh Motie and Yannic Cariah bowled their hearts out in the second half, but a low total meant they were unable to defend the total. The West Indies fans will be hoping that their side can put in a complete performance and draw level in the series.

Hello and a warm welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to our coverage of the 2nd ODI between the West Indies and India at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados. Having registered a comprehensive victory in the first ODI, India hold a 1-0 lead heading into the game. The visitors will be hoping to seal the series with a win in this game, whereas the West Indies will look to bounce back and take the three-match ODI series to a decider.

India destroyed West Indies in the first ODI and continued their momentum from the Test series. Windies cricket is going through a very tough phase but they will hope for a better response in this second ODI at the Kensington Oval to take it to a decider while the visitors will want to seal it with another victory. The hosts need a lot of improvement in the batting department as they couldn't even play 30 overs while batting first and suffered an embarrassing defeat. Only their captain, Shai Hope looked in control out there but got no support from others. They will hope that young Alick Athanaze can take confidence from the Test series and perform well here too while experienced players like Brandon King, Shimron Hetmyer, and Rovman Powell need to take more responsibility. They went with Dominic Drakes and Jayden Seales as frontline pacers while Yannic Cariah and Gudakesh Motie handled the spin department well. They tried their best in the previous game but just didn't have enough runs to play with. Windies could bring in Alzarri Joseph and Oshane Thomas to add some raw pace and experience to the bowling attack. They will hope that their players turn up for this game and challenge visitors. India, on the other hand, experimented with their batting order as their skipper, Rohit Sharma wanted to give the middle order some game time. Ishan Kishan scored an excellent fifty at the top but the lean patch of Shubman Gill continued while Suryakumar Yadav is yet to settle in this format. Virat Kohli didn't get the chance to bat but we know what he can do with the blade while Hardik Pandya will hope to get some runs under his belt too. However, it was the bowling that set up the win for them with a brilliant spell from Kuldeep Yadav who picked up four wickets while Ravindra Jadeja grabbed three as the pacers also supported them well. They could think about bringing Yuzvendra Chahal in as the wickets are favourable to the spinners. They have the upper hand on the hosts and will want to take the series in this match only.
