Papua New Guinea are almost out of contention for making it to the Super 12 stage and it will be nothing less than a miracle if they manage to progress further. They lost their first two games and are languishing at the bottom of the points table. PNG would look to end the qualifying stage on a high but they will face a side that is hungry for a win in Bangladesh and nothing is going to come easy for them. They need to win this game in order to progress to the next stage but they would also have their eyes on the next league game where Scotland will face Oman. The Bangla Tigers would hope that Scotland hand a defeat to Oman which will see them go through to the Super 12 stage and the net run rate scenario will be out of the equation. But first things first, they have to win this game to stay in contention and if they lose, then they would hope that Oman suffers a heavy defeat, which will bring their net run rate down, and eventually, it will be Bangladesh and Scotland who will qualify for the next stage. Mahmudullah and his men would be eager to put their best foot forward to push for a win, if not a comprehensive one. Will Bangladesh qualify for the Super 12 stage? Well, we will find that soon.
