Ireland, on the other hand, doesn't have a good record against the hosts while they have been struggling in this format in recent times as well. Their batting needs to improve a lot and players like Paul Stirling, Andy Balbirnie, Lorcan Tucker needs to take more responsibility. In the bowling department, they will expect a lot more from Joshua Little, Mark Adair and Barry McCarthy while they will hope that George Dockrell continues to deliver in both departments. This is a great opportunity for them to deny the hosts a series win and improve their record in this format. Will they be able to stop England? England were brilliant with the bat and showed their bench strength in this format. Will Jacks and Sam Hain played excellent knocks but just missed out on their hundreds. Their bowling looked a bit shaky initially with George Scrimshaw showing some nerves as it was his first ODI, but Rehan Ahmed produced a magical spell of spin bowling, and they managed to get the job done. The hosts also gave debuts to four players and we can expect some more rotation for this game as well.

However, the looming uncertainty of the weather casts a shadow over the much-anticipated contest, with a significant 70 per cent chance of rain threatening to interrupt proceedings. This series has already witnessed its share of weather-related disruptions, with the first game being completely washed out without a ball bowled, and there is a palpable apprehension that a similar fate may befall the third ODI.
