That is it from this game! Netharlands win their first game of the World Cup Super Legaue and get their first win over Ireland since 2007. Ireland will be windering how they lost this game but they will look to comeback stronger in the next ODI. Join us for 4th June at 1020 local (0820 GMT). Till then goodbye

Netherlands skipper, Pieter Seelaar, says that this game had a bit of everything and he said earlier that it was going to be a tough fight. Adds that they made a comeback when they got the wicket of Stirling and the pacers did a very good job. Adds that he gave a go with him bowling the 47th over and it worked. Tells that they did not  miss often and they were always in the game.

Ireland skipper, Andy Balbirnie says that it was a tricky wicket. Tells that they could not get anyone to score barring Stirling. Balbirnie says Little bowled well and tells all the bowlers did well tpo restrict them to a score they felt they should have chased. Tells they need to back Stirling and says that he is their star player. Hopes they can put it right in the next game. Balbirnie feels it is going to be like an old school ODI series.

Timm van der Gugten is the Player of the Match! Timm says it was a very tight game and they were happy at the break. tells it was a hard wicket to start on and tells that they lost their way in the middle. Tells getting a partnership was crucial and glad he could do that with van Beek. Timm van der Gugten  says that they always believed and felt they always had a shout to win.

Earlier in the day, after being asked to field, Ireland had Netherlands reeling at 5 down for below 100. However, the lower-order contributed and took them up to just below 200 which in the end proved to be enough.

Chasing a small total, Ireland just needed a couple of partnerships but their batters struggled. Only Stirling from the top order looked comfortable but the rest struggled. They were down and out when they were five down but Simi Singh and the opener added a fifty plus stand to take them back on top. Stirling then fell but Singh continued. He was there till the last over but could not take his side over the line.

Overall it was a brilliant bowling effort. The new ball bowlers did well. Guten and Glover were also decent in the middle overs. Seelaar also impressed whenever needed. It did seem like the overs from Zulfiqur might cost them but the others made up for it and have edged the game.

The pacers took on from there and did brilliantly, hit the pitch hard and gave nothing away. The pressure kept on building. Klaassen bowled a brilliantly last over, saving 12 from the last and van Beek defended it exceptionally.

Have to say, it was that one over from their skipper, the 47th over is what won them the game. They needed below 20 in 4 and they had two batters who had got their eye in but two wickets and just the 2 runs changed the game completely.

WHAT A WIN! WHAT A GAME! This swung like a pendulum from one side to the another and in the end, it is the home side which has come out on top.

Commentary

So 196 is what Ireland need to win this game and take a 1-0 lead in this series. They are still in pole position in this game and would look to achieve this target. Netherlands have given themselves something to bowl at. The pitch has not looked easy to bat and the hosts will feel they are in with a decent shout. Can the bowlers exploit the conditions or will Ireland scale this mountain? Join us for the chase to find out.

A decent bowling effort from Ireland but they will be disappointed to have let away runs towards the end and will also be unhappy not to have bowled out Netherlands earlier. Josh Little and Craig Young were the stars with the ball. Little's pace wrecked havoc as the left arm  seamer finished with 3/32. Craig Young was also impressive as he too finished with a 3-fer. Spinners Simi Singh and Andy McBrine were impressive as well as they gave away just 59 runs in their 19 overs with both getting one wicket apiece. George Dockrell and Barry McCarthy were the only bowlers to go wicketless and be expensive.

Winning the toss and opting to bat, Netherlands started off solidly as they found themselves at 51/1 but the wicket of Max O'Dowd turned the tide as they found themselves reeling at 53/5. Bas de Leede and Saqib Zulfiqar steadied the ship with a 49-run stand. The duo departed in quick succession and it looked like the innings would be wrapped up quickly. Timm van der Gugten though had other ideas. He took the attack to the Irish bowlers. When 150 looked farfetched his 49 along with a supportive 29 from Logan van Beek has taken them close to 200!

A decent bowling effort from Ireladn but they will rue the fact they could not finish things off with the ball as they would have liked and let Netherlands get past 150. Netherlands will be the side entering the break with momentum and bigger smiles on their face. Thanks to Timm van der Gugten they have a very respectable target to bowl at.

NOT OUT! That is not off the bat and only of the pad. Shorter again and on middle, Stephan looks to pull again. There are a couple of noises as the ball passes the batter. It goes to the keeper and Ireland appeal. The umpire shakes his head again. The visitors review but replays show nothing. They lose one pretty early.

Some swing for Young too but the line is on the pads. Myburgh looks to flick but misses to get hit on it.

A huge appeal but turned down! Off the pad. Shorter and on middle, Myburgh looks to pull but it hits the top of the bat and goes to the keeper.

Who will bowl from the other end with the other new ball? It will be Craig Young!

A decent start then for Netherlands. 4 from the first! Good length and on middle, this is pushed to mid on.

Sligjt misfield and another single. Length again and on off, SM guides it to point. The fielder does not stop it cleanly and it is an easy run.

Max is up and running! Nice, confident push! Length and around off, slightly fuller, this is pushed through covers for one.

0.31

Myburgh is off the mark! On the pads, this is nudged around the corner for one.

0.20

Lovely! Got the last one to come back in and gets this one to shape away. The length is also nice and full, enticing the batter to drive. Stephan does so loosely and he is beaten.

0.10

Some shape into the batter! The length is a touch shorter. The line is a little too straight. Myburgh looks to flick but misses to get hit on the pads. High on the pads.

WIDE! Netherlands are underway courtesy an extra! Down the leg side by Barry. It is left alone. Wided.

We are all set for the action to begin! The Ireland players make their way out on the field as they scatter to take their respective positions. Max O'Dowd and Stephan Myburgh stride out to open the innings for the Netherlands. Barry McCarthy is all set to operate with the new ball.

Ireland skipper, Andy Balbirnie  says that they would have batted too and feels the pitch will break up later. Tells they are targetting 30 points in every series. Admits they were not at their best against Afghanistan in UAE. Tells he is feeling good and tells the boys are in a good place. Andy tells Stirling has been in great touch. Adds Little has been good with the ball.

Pieter Seelaar says the wicket looks pretty nice and he feels the wicket will get lower and slower as the day goes on. States it has been rainy but the sun is out, they played a couple of ODIs and they are in good shape. Adds they are very excited and are looking forward for this game. Ends by saying, they are raring to go and are all fired up.

PITCH REPORT - Peter Borren and Niall O'Brien are the pitch masters for the day. Borren says that the pitch looks dry and the weather has not been great. Tells the pitch has decent grass coverage and tells that the pitch looks hard. O'Brien says that it should be a cracking game.

Hello and welcome to the first of the three match ODI series between Ireland and Netherlands. Despite it being familiar conditions for the latter, it is the visitors who are the favourites heading into it. They have most of their big names and are a stronger side on paper. The home side have a few big players missing but this gives the others a chance to prove their mettle. Also, the Netherlands will be starting their campaign in the Super League so they will want to start off with a win. Can they do so? We will find out.
