So, that’s it from this game! The third T20I is a must-win for the Aussies if they are to stay alive in the series. Whereas a win for the Windies will see them win the series. All to play for. That game is on the 13th of July and it begins at 1930 local (2330 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!

Nicholas Pooran, Windies skipper, starts by thanking his coach and his team for giving him the opportunity to captain the side. Mentions they were going to bat first even if they batted first, they promoted Dwayne Bravo to keep the left-hand right-hand combination and it worked. Informs it was Dwayne’s idea and then they took the advice of Kieron Pollard and went ahead with it. Adds Fabian Allen is very good and they are just sticking to the team plan which is very pleasing.

Aaron Finch, Australian skipper, says the wicket did not change a lot but they needed to get off to a good start but they could not and that put a lot of pressure on an inexperienced middle order. States the first half was good but the last 10 is where the game slipped away, it was not easy with a left and right-hand combination and they will reflect on this. Ends by saying they will work hard and try to comeback stronger.

Shimron Hetmyer, Man of the Match, says this was one of his best T20 innings, he paced his innings well, he enjoyed the role of taking it deep and he thanks the team for giving him that role. States he wasn’t doing anything different in this game, he just wanted to be there and accelerate towards the end. Adds he is trying to learn how to bat deep and also finish the innings well. Mentions he enjoyed batting with Dwayne Bravo who he batted with for the first time and he kept talking to him.

Earlier in the day, after being inserted, Windies were in a spot of bother at the end of the 10th over. Shimron Hetmyer and Dwayne Bravo though added 100-plus with Hetmyer scoring a half ton laid the foundation and Andre Russell with some meaty blows took the Windie to just under 200 which they easily defended.

For the Windies, everybody except for Fabian Allen and Lendl Simmons who bowled just the one ball had a wicket to his name. Allen though was brilliant as he only went for 22 in his four. It was him who built the pressure and the rest reaped the rewards. Over, it was quite a professional bowling performance from them.

A clinical win for Windies and they have taken a 2-0 lead in this series. 197 was always going to be a tough chase and it got even tougher when Aaron Finch and Matthew Wade were dismissed in the Powerplay. Mitchell Marsh along with Moises Henriques and Josh Philippe did steady things. Marsh scored yet another half ton but departed when it was time for him to step on the gas. Once he fell, it all fell apart for the visitors as they kept losing wickets and eventually fell way short of the total.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! Wade and Finch are the openers. Sheldon Cottrell has the new ball in hand. Here we go...

The target is a big one but the wicket seems to be a good one to bat on! The Windies bowling also has McCoy missing so Australia can fancy their chances but they will have to bat brilliantly. If they do so, this is going to be a brilliant second half. Stay tuned for it.

The Australian bowling was excellent for the first 10 overs. Hazlewood, Marsh, Agar and Zampa bowled really well. However, it was after that when things started to slip away. There were quite a few poor deliveries, the fielding was not at its best and they ended up conceding a lot more than they would have liked. Almost every bowler except for Agar went for runs and most of their figures were ruined in the second half of the innings.

End of a power-packed batting performance from the Windies and they will be pretty pleased as to where they stand in the game at the moment! They did not get to the best of starts though as they lost two in the Powerplay. Gayle also followed soon but Hetmyer and Bravo played brilliantly. The two added over 100 with the former scoring a fifty-plus score. They started slowly but then took the bowlers to the cleaners towards the end. Hetmyer did fall but Russell added the finishing touches with a brilliant cameo.

19.32

Two more! On middle, this is hit wide of long on for a couple more.

19.24

FOUR! In the gap! Powered away! This is full and on middle, Russell smashes it through mid-wicket and it races away to the fence.

19.11

Does not get to it! Not easy to take those when the ball is swirling like that! This is shot and on middle, Bravo looks to pull, his one hand comes off the handle. It goes off the top edge towards deep square leg. Zampa never seems comfortable under it and in the end, he does not get a hand on it.

19.11wd

WIDE! Well wide down the leg side. Left alone. Wided.

16.51

Hetmyer now makes room, this is bowled short and outside off. Hetmyer slaps it to covers for one.

Who will come out now? It is Shimron Hetmyer.

OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Simmons is now a goner! Hazlewood gets his revenge and it is an important wicket as he was looking really good. Played the wrong shot there. It is shorter and on off, Simmons makes room and tries to cut but he does not make enough room. It goes off the outside edge and Wade does the rest. Really good bowling, stuck to his line and length despite being hit for a biggie.

5.26

SIX! THUMPED OVER! What a shot that is! Simmons comes down the track and Hazlewood bangs it short, he smashes it over the long off fence for a biggie.

5.11

Ashton Agar1-0-1-1

2.60

Another one on middle, Gayle pushes it to the left of the bowler. Really good from Agar. So after an expensive first over, Australia have come back strongly.

2.50

Flatter and on off, it is pushed to covers.

Chris Gayle walks out to bat now!

2.4W

OUT! TIMBER! Andre Fletcher departs cheaply. A short ball, angling on middle and leg. Andre Fletcher makes room and looks to cut it but fails to get any bat on it. The ball sneaks through and hits the middle stump. The incoming angle with the dart made it a bit difficult for Fletcher to execute the shot. Perhaps a pull would have been a better option? Beaten by pace.

A dot to end! A good start again by Josh! On off, blocked.

Who will bowl from the other end now? Josh Hazlewood it is. He was brilliant in the first game. Australia would love something similar.

SIX! Fine shot. Back of a length, around middle and leg, Andre Fletcher whips it over deep mid-wicket! It was turning out to be a good over from Starc, till that last ball. 10 from it in the end.

A length ball, outside off. Andre Fletcher swings and misses.

0.40

NOT OUT! Andre Fletcher survives as it is going over! A good length ball, angling on middle and leg. Fletcher looks to leave it but gets surprised by the inswinger. Australia appeals for lbw and the umpire raises his finger. Andre Fletcher reviews it. Ultra edge shows no bat involved. Ball Tracker shows the ball missing the stumps.

A huge shout for an LBW and the finger is raised! Fletcher is given! He reviews. Maybe the height can save him.

We are all set for the action to begin! Simmons and Fletcher are the openers! The former will take strike and he will be facing Starc.

PITCH REPORT - Samuel Badree is doing the pitch report along with Sir Curtly Ambrose. The latter says it is the same pitch which was used for the first game, it is a good one to bat on and not a lot of balls misbehave and it should be a cracking contest.

West Indies (Playing XI) - Lendl Simmons, Andre Fletcher (IN FOR EVIN LEWIS), Chris Gayle, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran (C AND WK), Andre Russell, Fabian Allen, Dwayne Bravo, Hayden Walsh, Sheldon Cottrell (IN FOR OBED McCOY) and Fidel Edwards.

Australia (UNCHANGED Playing XI) - Matthew Wade (WK), Aaron Finch (C), Mitchell Marsh, Josh Philippe, Moises Henriques, Ben McDermott, Dan Christian, Ashton Agar, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood.

TOSS - Australia have won the toss and ELECTED TO BOWL FIRST! Pretty interesting then. In spite of the loss while chasing yesterday, in spite of the slow decks, Finch is not changing his formula and he believes in his and the side's principle.

For their hosts, the last win will just evoke that belief that they could win from any position. They will be rearing to go for this game and very hungry to make 2-0. Can they do so? We will find out. Stay tuned for the toss in a bit...

Less than 24 hours is what the Aussies have had to get over their loss in the first game. Not sure if that much time is enough when you lose from the position they did. However, they’ll have to put that behind and give their best here as a loss again would make it very difficult for them to get back into the series.
