Commentary

Right then, that brings an end to the series. Litton Das collects the trophy and joins his jubilant teammates for the customary photos. This wraps up Bangladesh's tour of the West Indies. The Test series ended in a hard-fought 1-1 draw, while the West Indies dominated the ODI series with a clean sweep, only for Bangladesh to return the favour by whitewashing the T20I series. With this, both teams conclude their cricketing commitments for the year. The West Indies will be back in action in January with a two-match Test series in Pakistan. We hope you enjoyed our coverage. Until next time, take care and goodbye!

The captain of Bangladesh, Litton Das says that the head coach Phil Simmons gives them the freedom to express themselves. Adds that they were not under any pressure despite being whitewashed in the ODI series. Feels that the batters did well in all games and 189 was an excellent total on this wicket. Shares that they are trying to improve with every game in all three departments.

The captain of West Indies, Rovman Powell says that they bowled well during the middle overs but could not execute well during the Powerplay and at the death. Feels that they need to avoid wickets losing wickets in clusters. Adds that losing wickets in the Powerplay has become a pattern in the last few series. Reckons that taking some time off as a T20 group will help them in assessing well. Lauds Bangladesh for the way they played and wishes them safe travels home. Ends by thanking the crowd for their support.

Mahedi Hasan is the PLAYER OF THE SERIES for taking 8 wickets in the series. Mentions he likes to bowl on such surfaces and his experience from the Global Super League has helped him a lot. Closes by saying that they as a side were upset about losing the ODI series but the hunger in the squad made them do well in the shorter format and they are now looking forward to the Champions Trophy.

Jaker Ali is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliance with the bat. He says that it was a wonderful tour for him. Shares that the wicket was very good as compared to the last two games. Mentions that he knew that if he gave himself time, he could make it up later. Tells that he was angry with himself for being involved in the two run outs but he is happy that he made up by scoring the runs.

Time for the presentation ceremony...

Earlier in the game, Bangladesh made a strong start after opting to bat, but West Indies fought back by tightening things up during the middle overs. Just when it looked like the hosts had gained control, Jaker Ali took charge. A dramatic run-out incident involving Shamim Hossain and Jaker saw the latter storm off the field before the third umpire intervened, correctly adjudging Shamim out. After his return, Jaker was unstoppable, blasting a brilliant 41-ball 72, which helped Bangladesh finish with 189. For West Indies, Roston Chase was the most economical, conceding just 15 runs from his 4 overs while also picking up a wicket. Their death bowling continued to be a concern, as they conceded 75 runs from the final 5 overs.

With 190 never having been chased before in T20Is at Arnos Vale Ground, West Indies were up against history. They were rocked early in the Powerplay, losing three of their top four batters. From that point, the hosts could never recover as Bangladesh kept chipping away at the wickets. Litton Das rotated his bowlers effectively, and the bowlers responded brilliantly. Romario Shepherd was left with too much to do with the tail, and his departure was the final nail in the coffin for the hosts. All 5 bowlers used had at least a wicket to their name but it was Rishad Hossain who stood out with figures of 3 for 21 from his 4 overs.

History created in Kingstown! Bangladesh have whitewashed West Indies for the first time in a bilateral T20I series. After being blanked 3-0 in the ODI series, the Tigers have roared back in style to exact sweet revenge on the hosts. West Indies have been thoroughly outplayed and outclassed by the visitors, and they will end the year on a disappointing note.

OUT! BANGLADESH COMPLETE THE CLEAN SWEEP! Good length delivery angled into the middle and leg from around the wicket, McCoy swings across the line and misses. The ball hits the timber and Bangladesh win by a massive margin of 80 runs to take the series 3-0.

Commentary

Welcome back. Bangladesh are in a huddle before they spread onto the field. Out come the West Indies openers - Brandon King and Johnson Charles in pursuit of a huge score. Taskin Ahmed will start with the ball for the visitors. Here we go!

…THE RUN CHASE…

Right then, the West Indies need to chase a record score of 190 to salvage some pride in the series. Can they do it or will Bangladesh make a clean sweep? Join us in a bit for the second essay.

Roston Chase is in for a chat. He says that the wicket is a lot better tonight. Feels that they have conceded a few runs too many but he backs the team to chase this down. Shares that Akeal Hosein is a vital player and not having him is a loss but cricket is a team sport and others must step up in his absence.

West Indies were below par with the ball and sloppy on the field. Romario Shepherd was the pick of the bowlers with 2/30 in his spell while Roston Chase and Motie also did a fair job. The home side leaked plenty of runs in the back half of the innings and this might come to bite them.

25 runs from the final over propel Bangladesh to their highest score of the series by a far margin as they finish with 189/7 in their 20 overs. Opting to bat first, Bangladesh got off to a powerful start with Parvez Hossain Emon and Litton Das who added 44 inside the first five overs. Emon was the aggressor of the duo with 39 off just 21. A couple of wickets fell in quick time before Mehidy Hasan and Jaker Ali added a handy 37-run stand. Mehidy departed on 29 but Jaker Ali carried on and smashed an unbeaten 72 off 41 to take his side toward the 190-run mark.

OUT! TAKEN! The ploy to go short finally pays off for Romario Shepherd! Slower bumper from Romario, outside off, Tanzim Hasan Sakib backs away and tries to flat bat this one over long on. Jayden Seales at long takes it over his head and takes one step too many towards the ropes. He manages to hold onto the catch but it is referred upstairs. The replays show that Seales did well to ensure that he did not touch the ropes with his feet.

18.42

NO BALL! On a good length, on middle, Jaker Ali walks across to scoop it over short fine leg but fails to get any bat on it. The ball rolls off his left pad and it rolls away on the off side for a leg bye. Nicholas Pooran looks convinced and wants Rovman Powell to take the review for LBW. However, Romario has overstepped. And guess what? Had it been a fair delivery and if a review was taken, Jaker was gone. The Ball Tracking shows three reds.

All set for the action to start. The two umpires and players head out to the centre. It will be Litton Das and the debutant Parvez Hossain Emon to open the innings for Bangladesh. One of two debutants for West Indies, Jayden Seales will start with the new ball. A slip in place. Let's play...

PITCH REPORT - Nikhil Uttamchandani and Carlos Brathwaite are near the deck. Nikhil informs that a nice breeze is blowing from the east and if it continues to do so, we may not see any dew formation. Feels that the batters will have to take wind into account while going for the big shots. Carlos mentions that this is the same surface which was used in the first game. Adds that there's very little grass and it will mean that the pitch will be on the drier side, making run-scoring a challenge.

Nicholas Pooran is up for a chat. He says that it's all about taking responsibility but they have rushed a bit. Shares that he tries to bat deep after getting into his innings. Adds that he wants to get a good score and keep improving as a batter. Ends by sharing that he is trying to prioritize and play as long as possible and is looking forward to finishing the year with a win.

Rovman Powell, the West Indies skipper says that they haven't played good cricket. Adds that they have lost the series but want to end it on a high and put up a better show for the fans. Shares that they have two debutants - Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales in place of Andre Fletcher and Akeal Hosein.

Litton Das, the Bangladesh skipper opts to bat first. He says that the wicket looks good for batting and they want to defend as they did in the first two matches. Adds that he is happy to lead this side. Shares that they have won the series but they want to win the final game and complete a whitewash. Ends by sharing that Parvez Hossain Emon is playing in place of Soumya Sarkar as their only change and they aren’t risking Nahid Rana because of his workload.

West Indies (Playing XI) - Brandon King, Johnson Charles, Nicholas Pooran (WK), Roston Chase, Rovman Powell (C), Justin Greaves (in place of Andre Fletcher) (On T20I debut), Romario Shepherd, Gudakesh Motie, Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy, Jayden Seales (in place of Akeal Hosein) (On T20I debut).

Bangladesh (Playing XI) - Litton Das (C/WK), Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon (in place of Soumya Sarkar) (On T20I debut), Mehidy Hasan, Jaker Ali, Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Shamim Hossain, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud.

Toss Update - Bangladesh have won the toss and opted to BAT first.

Team News - Akeal Hosein will miss the final T20I for the West Indies with franchise commitments while Soumya Sarkar has been ruled out of this fixture for Bangladesh with a broken finger.

On the flip side, Bangladesh have been extremely good in the first two games. They batted first again in the second match of the series and posted a fighting score of 129 with runs from Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Jaker Ali, and an important cameo from Shamim Hossain. All the bowlers collectively stepped up with Taskin Ahmed leading the way in defence of a low score and they successfully did it, winning by 27 runs. Bangladesh will be raring to make the scoreline 3-0 and end their tour on a high. So, can the West Indies bounce back, or will Bangladesh make a clean sweep? We shall find out soon. Toss and team news in a bit. Stay tuned!

West Indies were favorites to win the series but have had a couple of poor batting efforts that have disappointed them. They bowled first and had better conditions while batting but have thrown their wickets away to poor shots. Their bowlers did an excellent job in game two to keep the visitors under 130 with both the left-arm spinners doing an outstanding job. Chasing the score, the Men in Maroon were reduced to 42/6. Roston Chase and Akeal Hosein made handy 30s but they were eventually dismissed for just 102 runs. Standing on the brink of a whitewash, the home side will need to step up and end the series with a win.

Hello and welcome to our coverage of the third and final T20I of the series between the West Indies and Bangladesh from the Arnos Vale Stadium in St Vincent. After two impressive wins, the visitors have already sealed the series and will look to make a clean sweep while the West Indies will hope to salvage some pride with a consolation win.

...MATCH DAY...

After a rollercoaster series, the West Indies’ hopes of remaining unbeaten across all formats have been dashed. The Test series ended 1-1, and while the Windies dominated Bangladesh with a 3-0 whitewash in the ODIs, the tables have turned in the T20Is. The visitors have already clinched the series 2-0 with one game to spare, handing the hosts a bitter lesson in resilience and consistency. Chasing modest totals has exposed the cracks in the Windies’ batting lineup. Despite having explosive hitters like Johnson Charles, Andre Fletcher, and Nicholas Pooran - who leads the charts for most sixes in T20s this year - it was Roston Chase and Akeal Hosein who top-scored in the second match. That’s a worrying sign for the home side. On the brighter side, the bowling attack has been a revelation. Alzarri Joseph, Obed McCoy, and Romario Shepherd have been exceptional with pace, while Gudakesh Motie’s left-arm spin has kept the opposition on their toes. For Bangladesh, this series has been all about grit and determination. Winning the first two matches from tough situations shows how far they’ve come. Shamim Hossain has stepped up as a dynamic finisher, delivering crucial runs down the order. Mehidy Hasan and Jaker Ali have been consistent rocks in the middle order, while skipper Litton Das is due for a big contribution. However, they will miss the services of Soumya Sarkar in this game which could give an opportunity to Tanzid Hasan or Parvez Hossain Emon to shine at the top. The bowling attack has been sharp, with Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Hasan Mahmud forming a potent pace trio, complemented by Mahedi Hasan’s six wickets with his clever spin. As we head into the final showdown, the stakes are high. Will Bangladesh seal an emphatic 3-0 sweep and roar with pride? Or will the Windies rally to salvage some honor in front of their home fans? We will find out soon.
