Strategic Time-Out! Since the last time-out, things have gone from bad to worse for the defending champions but they have their most experienced players at the moment. Skipper Ravindra Jadeja and ex-skipper MS Dhoni hold the key here and they will look to take the innings as deep as possible to launch a few big ones at the death. Kolkata will look to stay aggressive and try to get one more wicket here that will all but ensure that they restrict their opponents for a low total. NOT OUT! Chennai sure look nervous out there and this is not good cricket from them. Ravindra Jadeja certainly feeling the pressure of captaincy which is understandable but he needs to keep a cool head out there. Fuller delivery, on off. Beaten! Shorter length again from Narine and around off. This is the flicker out of the front of the hand and goes away from the right-hander. Ambati Rayudu is comprehensively beaten.

A bit wider again and this time Uthappa can't get it past the point fielder.

Now, was that a dropped catch? The ball certainly carried but a very difficult chance. Short and wide, cut away off the back foot uppishly to the right of the point fielder for a couple of runs.

Short again, down leg. Rayudu pulls it behind square this time for one more.

Narine drags it down first ball, around leg stump. Robin Uthappa rocks back and pulls it down to deep square leg for a single.

FOUR! Did that flick the leg stump? Chakaravarthy brings out the variation and bowls it a tad fuller on off stump. Replays show that the ball did hit the leg stump and there was a slight wobble but the bails don't come off.

Ruturaj Gaikwad tries to chase this wayward delivery but gets an outside edge to first slip where Nitish Rana takes a sharp catch. Umesh Yadav does it with the swing and he gets the early breakthrough as Gaikwad departs for a duck.

Shreyas Iyer, the skipper of Kolkata, says they will have a bowl first without any hesitation. Adds that he is honored to become a part of the Kolkata franchise and there will be dew on the ground that's why they will bowl first. Informs that they have gone with three overseas players tonight, Sam Billings, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. Also adds that he, Billings and Rahane got their caps tonight playing for the first time for the franchise.

Haydos joins him and says that the average score in the last 10 matches is around 200 and there is an even covering of grass. Teams like to chase on this ground as the dew factor comes into the picture as well.

He has done an enormous job as a captain and a few days ago we didn't have a clue that this season, the team in Yellow will be not led by the man himself. The decision was always coming but MS Dhoni doesn't make a huge event about it. He takes his social media or a press release for the news to trend on top. Just seeing the 'number 7' walking out to take the field will bring smiles to millions of fans.

Even Kolkata have added some key players as well and they too will look to take the next big step after being runners-up in the previous edition. It is just the aura of this league that attracts you with big names and the brand it has been since its inception and it has never failed to surprise us with a thrilling contest.
