Right then! Not what we hoped for but that concludes the ODI series. We now look forward to welcoming you to the T20I series. The three-match T20I series will start on Wednesday, 27th July at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT). Do join us for the build up, well in advance. Till then, goodbye and cheers!

This has been a disappointing game and the finale has been left incomplete. The series will be shared by the two teams as the rain gods have won here at Headingly. South Africa decided to bat first after winning the toss and got off to a decent start thanks to Quinton de Kock. He lost his opening partner Janneman Malan pretty early but constructed a lovely partnership with Rassie van der Dussen to take South Africa to a comfortable position. The partnership was broken just before drinks after which Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock played through an interruption to keep the scoreboard ticking. Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten on 92 off just 76 deliveries to keep South Africa in the hunt for a series win but no further action was taken thanks to the pouring.

We have bad news for you. The match has officially been called off! South Africa and England share the series as it ends on 1-1. We were all set for a Super Sunday thriller with the series on line but the rain gods had other plans and the biggest enemy of cricket had the last say. We were nearing the cut off time but the forecast does not look good. The officials have taken the call in advance and decided to abandon the game. Not the end to the series we were hoping for!

Update - 8.16 pm IST (2.46 pm GMT) - With the way things seem to be going, it looks like Quinton de Kock will miss out on his century. That said, he will be pleased that he got some runs under his belt after missing out in the first two games. Just to add some positive news amidst this glum setting, the audience will be refunded half the price of the tickets if the game does not happen hereafter.

Update - 7.42 pm IST (2.12 pm GMT) - It is still raining in Headingly and the delay seems to be substantial. If South Africa do not get to bat and England get to play their 20 overs the target will be 175. Now, the whole ground is covered as the groundsmen are expecting the rain to stay for a long duration. You can enjoy the action between India and West Indies but also keep an eye here for further updates.

South Africa scored 40 runs in the 41 deliveries that were bowled in the short session between the two breaks. Jos Buttler decided to operate with spin from both ends, to try and bowl as many overs as possible before another interruption. Quinton de Kock has moved into the 90s and will be hoping he gets to come out and complete a much-deserved century. Aiden Markram has played second fiddle but has looked solid at the other end.

Update - 7.15 pm IST (1.45 pm GMT) West Indies are off to a watchful start in Port of Spain. Switch tabs and check out the action but do join us once again for additional updates as we wait for the game to resume.

Update - 7.04 pm IST (1.34 pm GMT) - The rain is pouring down AGAIN. The players are walking off the field and the covers are on. It looks like a stop-start day here at Leeds and more overs will be deducted after this break. Stay tuned for further updates.

Update - 6.35 pm IST (1.05 pm GMT) - Both sides will play 45 overs each. Elsewhere in the world of cricket, West Indies have won the toss and elected to bat against India. Do switch tabs to check the playing XIs and then join us for the resumption of this game.

Update - 6.20 pm IST (12.50 pm GMT) - Good news! The game is set to resume at 6.45 pm IST (1.15 pm GMT). If there is no more rain. Stay tuned.

Update - 6.10 pm IST (12.40 pm GMT) - There will be an inspection in 5 mins at 6.15 pm IST (12.45 pm GMT). The news from the middle is that the rain has stopped for now and the ground staff are working hard to clear things up. But, the forecast suggests there will be another couple of showers soon. Fingers crossed. Stay tuned.

Update - 5.49 pm IST (12.19 pm GMT) - The umpires were out in the middle without any umbrellas. They are assessing the conditions but there is no sign of covers coming off. If this delay continues and South Africa's innings were to end here, England would need 170 runs in 20 overs as per DLS. The forecast for later seems to be much better though and we are still some time away from overs being deducted. Stay tuned for more updates.

Update - 5.37 pm IST (12.07 pm GMT) - Meanwhile in Galle, Sri Lanka have put on a good batting display to end Day 1 on 315 for the loss of 6 wickets. They got off to a good start scoring 92 runs for the opening partnership. However, they will be disappointed that despite all batters getting off to good starts, none of them could go on to make a big score. Dinesh Chandimal continued his good form and was dismissed for a well-made 80. Pakistan will be happy that they kept breaking crucial partnerships at regular intervals. They will be disappointed though, that they conceded an excess of 300 runs. What a wonderful contest we have on the cards!

Update - 5.20 pm IST (11.50 am GMT) - The game was going perfectly for South Africa before the break. After opting to bat, they were off to a watchful start but lost Janneman Malan early. The duo of Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen added 75-runs to get the team back on track. Quinton de Kock is looking in a good rhythm now and will hope to score a ton here. The pitch is good to bat on and South Africa will look to cross the 300-run mark. Regarding the weather, the whole ground is covered now as the rain has gotten much heavier. Stay tuned as we bring you more updates.

Update - 4.54 pm IST (11.24 am GMT) - It is raining heavily now. The crowd covers themselves. The umpire asks the players to walk off the field and the rain has interrupted play. The good news is that only the pitch is covered and not the whole ground. There is some sunlight on the horizon and that is a good sign. Stay tuned for further updates.

DRINKS! The players take drinks as the umpire seemed to be changing his microphone batteries. South Africa have gotten off to a decent start courtesy of Quinton de Kock's half-century.
