Right then! That is all we have from this match and the Aussies have raced into a 4-0 lead in the 5-match series. The fifth and final match of the series will be played on Sunday, the 20th of February. That match begins at 11.40 am IST (6.10 am GMT). The build-up though will begin much sooner. Do join us then. Take care and goodbye!

Glenn Maxwell has been adjudged as the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his all-round show with the bat and the ball.

Presentation time...

Sri Lanka are showing time and again that they do have prowess with the ball but just can't get over the line when they do not have enough runs to play with. Maheesh Theekshana gave them a brilliant start as he got the dangerman Ben McDermott out for the second match in a row. Then the fiery pace of Lahiru Kumara caused the opposition a few problems. Kumara was rewarded with a couple of quick wickets as well and the visitors looked on course for a win. This wasn't the case though, as the lack of Wanindu Hasaranga in the middle overs proved to be significant and Jeffrey Vandersay was taken on by Maxwell and Inglis. The runs were running out and the hosts had plenty of wickets in hand. In the end, Sri Lanka were handed yet another thumping defeat and they will be disappointed because they made good starts with the bat and with the ball as well, only to lose their way later on.

Another day and another win for the reigning T20 World Champions, Australia. After a really slow start to the innings, they have managed to win this contest comfortably. Ben McDermott had another failure with the bat as he got out really early on to Maheesh Theekshana yet again. The skipper, Aaron Finch too couldn't get going and Ashton Agar provided some sluggish but useful runs at the top. It was the partnership between Josh Inglis and Glenn Maxwell that really won them the match. It was a 71-run stand in which Maxwell played the second fiddle and Inglis was hitting the ball cleanly. Once Inglis got out, Maxwell and Stoinis notched up the remaining runs without a fuss to make it 4-0!

18.14

FOUR! That's it, it's all over! Banged in short and around off. Glenn Maxwell hangs back and pulls it into the vacant deep mid-wicket fence to seal the win with a boundary. Australia win by 6 wickets!

Commentary

We are back for the chase! The Sri Lankan players make their way out to the middle, followed by the Aussie opening duo of Ben McDermott and Ashton Agar. Spin to start off things as Maheesh Theekshana has been handed the new ball. Can he give them the perfect start like last time?

... The Run Chase ...

Right then, Australia need 140 to take 4-0 lead in this series and Sri Lanka need a spirited bowling performance here to defend this total. Can their bowlers help them register their first victory of the series? Stay tuned for an interesting second-half of this game.

Aussies took some time to get into their stride today but the introduction of Ashton Agar provided the breakthrough straightaway. Finch rotated his bowlers quite well and despite wickets not coming in the first half of the innings, Aussies kept the pressure on. A brilliant piece of fielding by Maxwell that gave them their second wicket lifted their spirit and then wickets kept coming at regular intervals for them. Ashton Agar was the pick of the bowlers as he gave nothing away and pacers at other end took full advantage of it as Australia have put together another convincing bowling performance.

Sri Lanka have failed to get good starts in this series and they needed their openers to set the tone here. They did that to a certain degree but Danushka Gunathilaka perished after promising much more. However, Nissanka and Mendis kept the scoreboard ticking with singles and doubles at regular intervals but the same thing led to their downfall as Mendis was run out while stealing ths second run. Things went downhill from there as after a brief partnership between Nissanka and Asalanka, wickets started to fall quite quickly and in the end, Sri Lanka have ended with yet another disappointing batting performance.

This has been a brilliant fightback by Australia! Sri Lanka were well on their way to get a score around 160 here at the halfway mark but some poor batting and some superb bowling in the second half have ensured that Sri Lanka have been restricted to a below-par score here. However, a good final over took them near 140 but Aussies will still go into the break as a happier unit.

Jeffrey Vandersay is the next man in.

18.5W

OUT! RUN OUT! This is catastrophic for Sri Lanka! Right in the slot, on off and Chamika Karunaratne has thumped it on the bounce to Aaron Finch at mid off. There is a huge mix up in the middle as Karunaratne wants the single but Maheesh Theekshana is hesitant. Finch waits and waits and then throws it towards the keeper's end. Theekshana runs for his life and puts in the desperate dive but Matthew Wade with an exceptional keeping, runs in and throws the ball onto the stumps while diving. The decision is taken upstairs and the replays show that even with the dive, Theekshana is nowhwre in the frame.

18.41

Ooh, another spicy bouncer! This is banged in short, around middle. Maheesh Theekshana hops and gets an inside edge as he looks to pull. The ball rolls towards backward square leg and they get a run.

18.32

A length ball, on off. Theekshana squeezes the cover drive through the infield and picks up a couple of runs.

18.20

Full and straight, this is driven straight to mid off.

Maheesh Theekshana is the next man in.

18.1W

OUT! Cleaned up! Another one bites the dust and Jhye Richardson picks up his second wicket of the night. Dushmantha Chameera gives the charge and Richardson is smart enough to change the pace of the ball and bowl it a lot slower. Richardson also manages to find the blockhole with perfection. Chameera misses the heave leg side and ends up playing all around it. The ball crashes into the base of middle stump and Australia on top of proceedings here.

Jhye Richardson is back to complete his spell.

Kane Richardson angles this one on the pads and Shanaka with a whip across towards the square leg fence. The ball is hit with real venom but Ashton Agar is a tall man and he runs to his right and reaches out to take a good catch. Sri Lanka certainly losing their way now and Richardson has two wickets in the over.

17.21

Full, around off. This is pushed to mid off for a single.

Chamika Karunaratne is the new man in.

17.1W

OUT! CAUGHT! Sri Lanka tumbling like a house of cards now! A juicy half-volley outside off from Kane Richardson. Dinesh Chandimal looks to hit it a bit too hard and doesn't get any sort of elevation on it. Chandimal ends up thumping it straight to the eksipper, Aaron Finch at extra cover and he takes a really sharp catch. Richardson has his man and Sri Lanka in a spot of bother.

We are all set to begin! Australian players are out there in the middle. Pathum Nissanka and Danushka Gunathilaka are the openers for Sri Lanka. Can they set the tone tonight? Daniel Sams will start with the ball for Australia. Here we go...

Australia (Playing XI) - Ashton Agar, Ben McDermott, Aaron Finch(C), Josh Inglis, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade(WK), Daniel Sams, Jhye Richardson (In for Josh Hazlewood), Kane Richardson and Adam Zampa (In for Mitchell Starc).

Sri Lanka (Playing XI) - Danushka Gunathilaka, Pathum Nissanka, Charith Asalanka, Kusal Mendis, Dinesh Chandimal(WK), Dasun Shanaka(C), Chamika Karunaratne, Jeffrey Vandersay, Dushmantha Chameera, Maheesh Theekshana and Lahiru Kumara (In for Nuwan Thushara).

TOSS - Up goes the flip of the coin and it lands in favour of Australia. They have elected to BOWL first.

Sri Lanka have played some good cricket in patches but have been unable to put consistent pressure on the Aussies to produce positive results. Pathum Nissanka has shown his class at the top of the order but apart from him, the batting unit has struggled. The bowling unit has done decently but with Wanindu Hasaranga not available it will be a tough task for them to overpower Australia on their home turf. However, they do have quality in their ranks and if their batter can step up, we might see a different result today. Can they register their first win of the series? Or will mighty Aussies continue to dominate? We shall find out. Toss and team sheets in a while.

Australia were always expected to win this series on their home turf and the Kangaroos have lived up to the expectations quite well. Though they would have loved some more runs from their batting unit, the bowlers have down their job quite well. On the batting front, Ben McDermott and Josh Inglis have scored some runs but they would want to get some more runs under their belt before some of the senior players return back to the fold. We might see some experimentation from the Aussies in this game and it will be interesting to see how they go about their business with series already sealed.

Hello and a warm welcome to the fourth T20I of this five-match T20I series between Australia and Sri Lanka. The series is already sealed by the Aussies with an unassailable lead of 3-0 but given the T20 World Cup later this year Down Under, it is another opportunity for both these teams to fine-tune their preparation.

... MATCH DAY …
