Right then. Time to start the action on Day 4. It is an absolute beauty of a setting for a Test match. A sunny morning, finally. All the Indian fans will be happy to see the ground baked in sunshine and light. Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara make their way out firstly and will look to continue their good work from Day 3. The English players follow them out and spread out to their respective positions. As expected, England have opted to take the second new ball and it is James Anderson who will be making use of it, first-up. Here he is, running in...

PITCH - Dominic Cork starts by sharing that it's 18 degrees at the moment. Tells that this pitch has been good, there was some swing and seam on the first day, but it is a very good pitch for batting. Mentions that the groundsmen have made sure that the pitch stays together. Talks about the rough patches visible on the surface but overall, Cork believes it's a belter for batting.

WEATHER - It is not every day that you see this sort of weather in England. It is BRIGHT and SUNNY at the moment and the ground is baked in sunshine. Anderson might not be loving looking at the sky right now, because he does not have his favoured cloudy conditions, which would have helped his cause. The Indians would be hoping for this weather to hang around till the end of the day.

The assignments for both teams are pretty clear heading into the penultimate day of this Test. It looked like the game was done and dusted when England had a humongous lead to their name, but India, to their credit, have batted way better than they did on Day 1 and the onus now lies on Pujara and skipper, Kohli. They have cut the lead down to just 139 runs and will want to quickly cut into the deficit. But, they have a problem on their hands - the second new ball. If Anderson and Robinson use the new cherry and wreak havoc on the Indians, then this game could be wrapped up today itself. But, if India can navigate the first hour of play, then they can score runs freely. The first session will really be an important one, as it shall give us an idea as to which team is on top.

After having the first 2 days belong to England, the visitors finally made their presence felt on Day 3 as they batted well and hard. They took a while to see off the opening spell from Anderson and Robinson, but after that Pujara and Kohli batted splendidly and ensured that they cut down the deficit to as much as possible and will be looking to continue their good work. It should be another interesting day of cricket.

Right then. India have done well on Day 3 and would look to continue the same heading into the penultimate day of the Test. England, meanwhile, will look to use the second new ball well and make some inroads, before India cut into their lead. If England does well with the second new ball, then the game can end on Day 4 itself. But if India can see off the new ball, then runs would flow as they flowed on Day 2 when England batted. Not the sort of day England would have wanted after having 2 days filled with goodness and success. They would have envisioned that they bowl as they did on Day 1 and run through the Indian batters but that never happened. In the first spell, India were slightly lucky as they played and missed quite a few of balls and the English pacers really made life tough for India, but after that, they could not continue with the same momentum. Ollie Robinson and Craig Overton got a wicket each and were good too. James Anderson did not have a wicket to his name, but he probed well with his line and length. Sam Curran again was slightly wayward and did not find his rhythm. Overall, not the best outing for the Brits.

India's middle order has been pretty fragile and the form of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli has been on everyone's mind, but these two showed everyone why they are the stalwarts in the Indian team, as they raised an unbeaten stand of 99 runs, before the light did not allow them to continue. Pujara, especially, has been under the scanner but he is into the 90s and will be looking to come out on Day 4 and reach his ton. In his company, Kohli is on 45 and will be looking to march on and cut the deficit down quickly enough.

India started Day 3 perfectly, not taking long to remove the last 2 wickets early on Day 3 and then seeing off the ferocious new-ball spells from Anderson and Robinson. Rahul lost his wicket and India looked to be slipping, but the duo of Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara batted through the entire post-Lunch session and also raised an 82-run stand, before Sharma's knock was ended by Ollie Robinson.

Another great day of cricket between these two. After 2 days where the hosts have enjoyed most of the success, it is India who have finally had their say in this game and they will be pleased with their work on Day 3. The last two sessions on Day 3 have seen India bat well and also stack up the runs at a good pace, as they end the day, behind by 139 runs.

England were quite good with the ball. Anderson, Overton and Robinson bowled in the right channels and went past the outside edge on numerous occasions. Curran struggled to find his rhythm and would want to change that. The key for England is to stay patient as a couple of quick wickets will help them push further for a victory. The session was all about Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara. Both the batters have put their heads down and have indulged in some good old-fashioned Test-match batting. They have blocked the balls which deserved to be blocked, punished the balls that deserved the treatment and left the ones which were too wide. Rohit Sharma has looked very solid so far and Pujara has surprisingly scored runs at a brisk pace. India would hope that these two can cut down the deficit even further.

A wonderful, wonderful session for India. Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara have batted and batted to take them to 112. The deficit is now 242 and they would be quite happy going in the hut. England were pretty good with the ball too, but could not take a single wicket.

India started quite well on Day 3 and picked up two wickets early. But what followed was a wonderful display of fast bowling by England. James Anderson, Ollie Robinson, Craig Overton and Sam Curran bowled the right channels and got plenty of help from the overcast conditions and the pitch. The English pacers troubled both Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul and went past the edge on many occasions. It looked like India would go back for Lunch without losing a wicket but the wicket of KL Rahul on the last ball of the session will make them a bit more nervous in the break.

What a session of Test cricket! The wicket of Rahul just before Lunch has provided England with a really good start in this innings. Rohit Sharma has looked quite solid and would need to continue if India are to get back in the game.

OUT! EDGED AND CAUGHT! What a catch this is by Bairstow. Wonderful delivery too from Overton and just at the stroke of Lunch, KL Rahul's innings has been cut short. Outstanding piece of cricket from England and they will head back as the happier side. Overton serves this on a length, around the off pole, KL Rahul is forced to play at this due to the angle, but the ball nips away enough to catch the outside edge. Update 10:45 am Local (9:45 am GMT) - According to the recent tweet by BCCI, there is a slight drizzle at the moment at Leeds and the pitch is under covers. We hope that we start on time though. But the live visuals now show that the Indian players are dressed up and heading out to the middle. We should probably start on time now.

Dominic Cork is down for the pitch report, he says that the full-length region outside the off stump for the right-handed batters has a bit of rough so that could assist the spinners like Moeen Ali. Adds that there is a bit of mizzle in the air so the pacers might be able to get some help too.

Nasser Hussain (on air) says that he likes how England have changed their batting line-up. Adds that conditions have improved and Day 2 was a great day to bat. Says that for England it was a good toss to lose as the pitch gets better to bat on with time. Hussain says that India has a lot of seam bowlers but England got the ball to swing and that helped them a lot. Further adds that India were smart with their aggression in the second Test and England have tried to do just that in this game. Mentions that it is quite cold here and the English supporters are loving this atmosphere.

It is almost certain that India will get to bat here on Day 3. They had a disastrous outing on Day 1, but their form so far in the series has been quite good. Plus, the pitch has gotten much easier to bat on and that should help them. But England have put on a massive total already and the Indian batters will be under great pressure in the second innings. How players like Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara bat in the next innings could very well decide which way this game goes.

Hello and a very warm welcome to Day 3 of the third Test between England and India. We have witnessed two days of Test cricket so far and both of them were dominated by England. They now lead by 345 runs and with two wickets in hand, the hosts would look to get as many runs as possible this morning. India, on the other hand, would be desperate to take the last two wickets and put on a big score in their second innings. Stay tuned as we find out what exactly happens.

... Day 3, Session 1 ...

India will now hope they can take the remaining two wickets as quickly as possible. Pretty sure their top order batters will already be thinking about batting. They will be eager to bat here and hope they can make use of the conditions as the wicket here just gets better. England on the other hand, will hope they can add as many as possible, time is not an issue, so they would be happy to bat for as long as possible, 500 will probably be their first aim and they would hope to bat India out of the game. Will Day 3 also be dominated by the hosts or is there going to be comeback from the visitors? Something tells me it is going to be the latter. Do join us for all the action at 1100 local (1000 GMT). Have to feel sorry for the Indian bowlers, most of them were not that bad, they actually were quite decent but there was not a lot of assistance for them from this wicket. Yes, they were a tad inconsistent with their lengths but overall, they were quite decent with the ball. Except for Ishant, everyone picked a wicket at least, Ishant was quite flat, he was way too straight and leaked runs. Except for him, the rest did a commendable job. They will be quite pleased with the last session or there was a possibility of England heading into Day 3 being just 4 or 5 down.

The day was all about the England's top three and Root because the middle order and the lower order did not do a lot! The damage the top four did is the reason why England are in the position they are in. All the top three scored fifties but none of them went onto make it into a ton but Root did do so as he went on to score yet another century. Also, the English skipper managed to score those runs at a brisk rate. They made the Indian bowlers toil hard in the first two sessions. They went about things slowly in the first, the second they managed to score quicker, they came out in the third session with even more positive intent, they did manage to score at a decent click but lost quite a few wickets. Still, though, they will be pretty pleased with where they are in the game, yes, their position could have been a lot better but they are well and truly in the driver's seat.

End of another day which has belonged to the hosts! They are way, way ahead in the game at the moment despite losing 5 wickets in this session. Yes, they did lose 5 wickets but they have ended up scoring more than 120 runs which has seen that lead grow to over 340.
