A positive start from England and that's mainly due to the fresh and fluent approach from Alex Lees. He set the tone from the word go, bagging three boundaries from the first over itself and is currently batting with a strike rate of 85.71. New Zealand have not got much movement and have only one wicket to show for their efforts in the first 9 overs. 263 needed more from a minimum of 63 overs. OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! The resilience of Matt Henry is over. Stuart Broad digs it in short again, around middle and off. Henry spots that there is no fielder in the deep on the leg side and decides to take on the short delivery. Attempts to pull but only manages to edge it to Ben Foakes. England have got the breakthrough they were looking for and it has come with the second new ball not too far away. Lead for the Kiwis is 259.

Trent Bridge is buzzing in anticipation of a great finish to this Test match. After witnessing three days of batting extravaganza, Day 4 proved to be fairly eventful with New Zealand scoring briskly, and England pegging them back with wickets. We have now reached an interesting juncture where all three results look likely and it truly depends on which team puts the best foot forward in the morning session. Right then, that is all we have from the Day 4 of this Test match. It has been an absorbing day of Test cricket and we now head to Day 5 with all three results possible. Day 5 of a Test match more often than not provides some great drama and let’s hope we have a cracking finish to this game. What we saw in the final session was the culmination of what started in the first session. England showed a positive approach in their batting and Kiwi bowlers also got their act together to bowl out England quickly. The lead was 14 for New Zealand after the end of first innings for both the sides and the second session proved to be quite an attritional one with no team ready to give away their advantage. However, eventually, New Zealand batters started batting freely and England too chipped in with wickets to set up a thrilling final day of this Test match.

England bowlers found it hard to break the resilience of Kiwi batters in the second session but they were on target in the final session. It was always going to be a matter of showing patience and seizing the opportunity when it comes and once Potts got rid of Nicholls, England started building more pressure with Ben Stokes impressing with his bold captaincy. Young was batting quite well but he got out to a terrible mix-up and even though Blundell and Bracewell played handy knocks, they lost their wickets at a crucial juncture. Southee was a victim of another run-out and it will be interesting to see how many more New Zealand can get and what would be England’s approach on the final day. For England, Broad and Potts bowled with great intensity and wickets at regular intervals meant that England are a happier side going into the final day.

Both teams have played some entertaining and absorbing cricket with passion quite evident in their approach but have to say that this session has belonged to England who have taken five wickets and with Kyle Jamieson not sure of coming out to bat, England just need two wickets to wrap up this innings. However, we all know, how difficult it is to chase down a total on the Day 5 of the Test match and with a lead of 238 already, New Zealand will feel that with a few more runs in their kitty, they are also in with a great chance of winning this one.

OUT! RUN OUT! A mix up in the middle and New Zealand are in a spot of bother now as they lose Will Young now. It is a length ball, on midde. Young tucks it to mid-wicket. Will Young is a tad late into his charge, which allows Ollie Pope to set himself up and throw it to Ben Stokes at the non-striker's end, who collects the ball and is quick to take the bails off. Even a desperate dive could not save Young here.

… DAY 4, SESSION 3 …

Conway and Young blunted the attack really well and extended the lead to 118 runs, with the former racking up his half-century before slipping up. England bowlers though did not have the most satisfying second-bite with the new cherry. Broad and Potts started the afternoon session but could not find much purchase off the deck. Stokes even got himself on but could not find any inspiration with the ball. Later, it was Leach who forced an error from Conway to find the breakthrough. He would've gotten two in two but the review did not go England's way. The hosts know they have an oppotunity to open the floodgates. They will surely come with an aggressive intent and look for early wickets. Right then, its all to play for in the final session of Day 4, as this should bring us a clear picture of where the match is heading. Do join us at 2030 IST (1500 GMT).

All the players make their way off the field and Trent Bridge is on its feet to soak the players in applause. As compared to the morning session, this one was relatively quiet, nonetheless it did spice up once Conway perished out of nowhere. The wicket of Conway would hurt the Kiwis but nonetheless it was a good session for them, as they scored 87 runs in 28 overs with the loss of a single wicket. They head back into the Tea break with a lead of 128 runs.
