Right then, that brings an end to the T20I series. The two captains Tim Southee and Moeen Ali pose for pictures with the shared trophy. Not much of a rest for both teams as they now face off in a four-match ODI series, the more relevant format with the ODI World Cup around the corner. The first ODI will be played on September 8 at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. The first ball will be bowled at 5.00 pm IST (11.30 am GMT) but our build-up will begin much sooner. See you then, cheers!

England's stand-in skipper Moeen Ali says that they were a few runs short and couldn't capitalise after the first 10. He appreciates the surface and says it was a good batting pitch. He mentions that the players are really good and it was an unfortunate loss. He backs his players and appreciates their contributions.

Tim Southee, the skipper of New Zealand, says that he is happy to bounce back and feels that they are back in good rhythm. He adds that the team played like themselves which helped them take those two wins. He credits the spinners for restricting the batters. He adds that he will travel and rest for the ODI series and mentions that a couple of new faces will be seen in the squad.

Jonny Bairstow is the Player of the Series. He says that he'll be fine and his shoulder feels a little stiff. He adds that he felt good getting back in touch and as it goes on he is expected to improve his timing and says that he is delighted to contribute in his way. He mentions that the powerplay is very crucial and they need to maintain the run rate and their strike rate in order to utilize it properly. He mentions that his ankle is fine and hopes it stays that way.

Mitchell Santner is the Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling performance. He credits his team for the win. He adds that they were happy when Jonny Bairstow got out. He mentions that they tried to utilise the powerplay and says that they are confident about the ODI series.

Time for the presentations...

Earlier in the game, stand-in skipper Moeen Ali won the toss and opted to put runs on the board. Jonny Bairstow got off the blocks quickly and got the hosts off to a flying start. He departed after scoring 73, which is when Dawid Malan began to take the innings forward. Just when he was starting to shift gears, he holed out in the deep, and it all went downhill for England from there. No English batter was able to score at the rate at which Bairstow did. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and, in the end, had to settle for 175. For New Zealand, their spinners did the most damage, with Mitchell Santner being the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets.

As far as England are concerned, they were outplayed in both departments by a resilient New Zealand side. On what was a flat wicket, they needed early wickets to have any chance of defending the total. Luke Wood did give them an early breakthrough, but the rest of the bowling unit were unable to capitalise on that early scalp. The pacers as well as spinners leaked a lot of runs in the Powerplay. They did sense an opening when Tim Seifert and Daryl Mitchell were dismissed in the space of two overs but they just were not able to squeeze in quiet overs.

There it is, New Zealand do it in a canter! An efficient run chase by the Kiwi batters helps them complete a comeback from a 2-0 deficit to end the four-match series on level terms. Having finished strongly with the ball, New Zealand certainly took that momentum into their batting effort. Finn Allen picked up where he left off in the last game and gave the chase an early impetus before departing. After his departure, Tim Seifert took matters into his own hands, and with his onslaught, he ensured that New Zealand had the required run rate in check. He fell two runs short of his fifty but had already laid a solid foundation for the innings. Then arrived Glenn Phillips who took the game by the scruff of the neck with his clean ball striking and had Mark Chapman for company. The duo took on the spinners with ease and by doing so, never allowed England a sniff. Towards the end, Rachin Ravindra provided the finishing touches to take his side over the line with more than 2 overs to spare.

FOUR! A misfield brings an end to the match. Moeen Ali bowls this full and on off. Rachin Ravindra hacks at it hard and towards cover. The fielder there fails to stop it and the batters take that single. The fielders don't chase after the ball and it runs away to the fence for a boundary. That is a win from New Zealand as they level the series after a dominating performance.

Commentary

We are back for the chase. The umpires are on the ground. The fielding team has taken their respective positions. Finn Allen and Tim Seifert will open the innings for New Zealand while Sam Curran has the new ball in hand and is raring to go. Let's go...

... THE RUN CHASE ...

For the first half of the innings, New Zealand was just getting smashed all around the ground for boundaries. Tim Southee did a good job of bringing back Mitchell Santner into the attack as he dismissed the dangerous-looking Jonny Bairstow which gave them a sigh of relief. Dawid Malan and Harry Brook were struggling and Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi cleaned them up quite easily. The bowlers bowled well in the death as Santner and Rachin Ravindra dismissed Moeen Ali and Sam Curran, putting the batters under pressure. Their death bowling was on point and managed to dominate the second half of the innings. The target for them is 176. As promised, this will be an interesting chase. Will New Zealand be able to chase the target down or will the hosts come out on top? Join us in a while to see how the run chase pans out.

England got off to a flying start, all thanks to Jonny Bairstow who unleashed an arsenal of shots, taking apart the bowlers. He seemed to be finding the fence from all his shots scoring 73 off just 41 balls. Safe to say England was in control of the game for the first 10 overs. After Jonny’s dismissal, the run rate slowed down and so did the boundaries. Just as Dawid Malan was looking confident, he was dismissed which slowed England’s innings down further. After that, all the shots that the batters played seemed to be finding fielders around the ground as Moeen Ali and Sam Curran were dismissed in quick succession. All in all, the hosts failed to pick up from where Jonny Bairstow left off and were put under pressure by their opponents. They have managed to put 175 on the board and it is now up to the bowlers to win the game for them.

What a comeback from New Zealand in the second half of the innings. After the dismissal of Jonny Bairstow, they managed to transfer the pressure on the batters and managed to pull them back from putting a big total on the board. Mitchell Santner weaved his spin magic taking 3 wickets along with Ish Sodhi who got 2. A good bowling display out here in Nottingham.

Drinks break! England have clawed their way back in the game here. Just when New Zealand were starting to wrestle the initiative, England responded with wickets of the two set batters. It all depends on how Kiwi batters tackle the English spinners. As far as England are concerned, the wickets of Daryl Mitchell and Tim Seifert have kept them in the hunt, and they will now look to put a squeeze on things with their spinners.

We are all set for the action to start. Sun is shining in its full glory at Trent Bridge as the two umpires and players make their way out to the middle. Jonny Bairstow and Will Jacks will open the innings for England. Tim Southee will start the proceedings with the new ball for New Zealand. Off we go...

New Zealand (Playing XI) - Finn Allen, Tim Seifert (WK), Daryl Mitchell, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Rachin Ravindra (In for Devon Conway), Mitchell Santner, Kyle Jamieson, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee (C), Matt Henry.

England (Playing XI) - Jonny Bairstow (WK), Will Jacks, Dawid Malan, Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali (C), Sam Curran (In for Jos Buttler), Rehan Ahmed (In for Chris Jordan), Brydon Carse (In for Gus Atkinson), Adil Rashid, Luke Wood.

TOSS - England have won the coin toss and they have opted to BAT first.

New Zealand, on the other hand, is on the road to making a comeback here. After losing the first two matches by a long margin they dominated the third one and won it by 74 runs. After an early dismissal of Devon Conway, Finn Allen handled the innings really well and scored 83 runs. Glenn Phillips was the next to perform well as he batted aggressively and took apart the bowlers with his 69 run innings. Their bowlers were also in good rhythm and took timely wickets, not allowing the opposition batters to build partnerships. All in all it was an all round performance by the team to get their first victory of this series. This is going to be a high-octane clash as the hosts will try to win this series by winning this match while the visitors will try to level the series with their victory. Who will come out on top? We will know soon. Stay with us as we bring you the toss and team news shortly.

England had a great start to the series winning the first two matches very comfortably. They looked to dominate the series but a loss in the third match pulled their momentum down. Their spinners did not perform well in the last match and leaked many runs. In the batting department their skipper, Jos Buttler was the only batter to perform well in the chase after a languid start. They were bowled out for 128 runs. They should look to build strong partnerships in the middle phases. The form of Will Jacks and Dawid Malan will concern the batting lineup so let’s hope they can regain their form in this match.

Hello and a very warm welcome folks! We are awaiting the final match of the 4-match T20I series between England and New Zealand. England are currently leading the series by 2-1. This is expected to be an exciting clash at Nottingham as both teams will want to end the series with a win.

... MATCH DAY ...

Another bilateral series is coming to an end as we shift our focus to the fourth and deciding T20I between England and New Zealand at Trent Bridge. The hosts took a 2-0 lead with a couple of dominating performances but they suffered a very disappointing loss in the last game as the Kiwis made it 2-1 to force a decider. However, they can chalk it out as a bad day at the office and focus on this one now. Jonny Bairstow has been in good form at the top of the order along with Will Jacks, but Dawid Malan and Liam Livingstone haven't made much of an impact. Harry Brook has also proved his worth to some extent and will look to continue that while Moeen Ali and skipper Jos Buttler provide much more balance to the middle order. Their bowling wasn't great in the last match after bringing back Chris Jordan and Luke Wood, but Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse did well in the previous two games with Adil Rashid handling the spin department. It is expected that Sam Curran will be back for this one as he can contribute in both departments and be the difference between the two sides. New Zealand, on the other hand, finally played like a top-quality side and won in a convincing manner and they would hope for more of the same here too. Their bowling was on point with Kyle Jamieson and Ish Sodhi stepping up big time for them while captain Tim Southee also supported them well. Matt Henry and Mitchell Santner make their attack even stronger. Finn Allen came back to form with a brilliant knock in the last game but Glenn Phillips has been their best batter in this series with 132 runs and will be key in their middle order. They also have quality players like Devon Conway, Tim Seifert, and Daryl Mitchell who will all need to contribute more if they want to finish the series on level terms. Will they be able to make it 2-2? Or will England take it home? We will find out soon.
