DRINKS BREAK - Ireland took the slow and steady approach to the chase and were successful up to an extent. Paul Stirling settled in and started playing his shots, but just when it all looked good, Stirling got out and Ireland have to re-build. PITCH REPORT - Due to Covid restrictions, the pitch cannot be inspected from close on but the conditions are overcast and suited for bowling. The weather, however, has been brilliant in the past two weeks and the surface will still be good for batting and history supports this claim as the team batting first has won all of the last 12 matches here.

Craig Ervine, the captain of Zimbabwe, says he would have bowled first as well and the batting at the top has been a bit disappointing and hopefully, they can make adjustments to it. He adds that the outfield is wet and Brendan Taylor and Sikandar Raza do come in along with a couple of others.

Andy Balbirnie, the skipper of Ireland, says that they will bowl first due to the overcast conditions and the wicket might be tacky. He adds that it will be tough and hopefully conditions will be in their favour and there are changes to the squad.

Hello and welcome to the first ODI between Ireland and Zimbabwe, live from Belfast. The T20I series provided tons of entertainment and Ireland, after being 1-0 down, won three in a row to clinch the series. Zimbabwe impressed with the ball in the final T20I but that proved to be just a consolation win and made it 3-2.
