That concludes the proceedings of this lopsided match. On Wednesday, Rajasthan will be facing Delhi at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). You can join us in advance for the build-up. Until then, it's goodbye and cheers!

Shubman Gill collects the Player of the Match award for his knock of 63 on this tricky surface. The Gujarat opener says that playing such a knock is quite pleasing. Tells that he didn't expect the ball to seam so much at the start. Feels that Lucknow didn't pitch it up much otherwise it would have been tougher. He is delighted to qualify and says that not a lot of people gave them a chance at the start. Shares that he has had a few back issues and hopes that he stays fit.

Hardik Pandya, the winning captain of Gujarat, says that he is very proud of his boys. Tells that they believed in themselves and it's a great effort to qualify for the playoffs even before playing the 14 games. Adds that even in the last game they never thought the game was over till it was over. Hardik shares that he wanted to make sure that they stay ruthless even when Lucknow were 8 down. He rates Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore quite highly who gets some extra bounce from the surface due to his height. He praises Shubman Gill for his knock and tells that 144 is something he would have taken at the toss. He is delighted with the show of his bowlers and says that they ticked all the boxes. Mentions that it becomes important to believe that you win or lose as a team, and not as an individual. Credits his boys as they stood for each other and feels that it's important to stay close as a group.

Rashid Khan (3.5-0-24-4) comes up for a chat. The Afghan says that the couple of games which didn't go his way was due to his line and length. Shares that the wicket was helping in this match and he was bowling in the right areas. Mentions that the fast bowlers set the platform in the Powerplay, which helped the spinners to add more pressure. States that this is the crucial part of the competition, they have won, but it's all about the process and they have to still keep learning. Tells that he enjoyed the wicket of Jason Holder the most as the West Indian could have taken the game away, so he had planned to bowl that leggie.

KL Rahul, the captain of Lucknow, starts by saying that they knew it was a tricky wicket as that is how it has played here in the last couple of games. Praises his bowling group for restricting Gujarat to under 150 and feels that they should have batted a lot better. He opines that there were some poor shot selections. Hopes that they will learn from their mistakes. Feels that losses like these keep reminding you to turn up with your best performance and keep doing the best. Mentions that starting well in the Powerplay was the key as the pitch was offering good grip and scoring runs after the first six overs would have been tough. KL doesn't want to overanalyze a game like this. States that they want energy and intensity in the field and he is content with what they achieved in the field this evening.

Stay tuned for the interviews...

Earlier, it was a struggling batting show from Gujarat against a very disciplined bowling from Lucknow. Only Shubman Gill managed to come to terms with the nature of the surface as otherwise, it was a lacklustre performance from others. Rahul Tewatia's knock was the booster to take them over 140 and eventually, 144 turned out to be more than enough.

The chase never got going for Lucknow! It was a tricky wicket but the application was also lacking from their batters. Once the mainstay of Lucknow's batting, KL Rahul was dismissed, the rest of the batting line-up didn't show enough confidence. Gujarat bowled with great energy and the planning from Hardik Pandya was right on the money. The ploy to give one extra over to Mohammad Shami in his first spell led to the dismissal of KL Rahul and from thereon, Gujarat ruled the roost. Rashid Khan was too hot to handle, claiming a 4-wicket haul and Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore was very impressive as well.

Wow, the last six wickets went down in the blink of an eye and it's a thumping win for Gujarat! They now have the letter 'Q' next to their name as they become the first team to book its ticket to the playoffs. Great way to storm into the next half of the tournament.

13.5W

OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! That's it! Rashid Khan grabs his fourth wicket and finishes things off! What a spell this has been from the magician! A googly this time, fuller ball, around middle and leg. Avesh Khan looks to heave this away but he misses. There is a loud shout for caught behind but the umpire says no. Wriddhiman Saha thinks he has heard a noise there and he convinces Hardik Pandya to opt for a review. The UltraEdge confirms there is some spike. The on-field decision has to be reversed. Gujarat win by 62 runs with 37 balls to spare and seal their spot in the playoffs!

13.40

Swing and a miss! A fuller ball, outside off, spinning away. Avesh Khan swings his bat once again but he misses.

13.36

SIX! Was that a double bat? Oh yes! That's very rare, Hardik Pandya has spotted that and is smiling. Short and on middle, Avesh Khan goes back to pull. It takes the shoulder of the bat first before he smashes it over deep square leg.

13.26

SIX! BANG! Avesh Khan walks out and smashes the hat-trick ball! A loopy ball, around middle, fuller in length. Avesh Khan tonks this one over long on for a biggie.

Avesh Khan is the last man in.

13.1W

OUT! CAUGHT! Rashid Khan strikes for the third time and this time it is Mohammad Shami with a sharp running catch. It is looped up, full, on middle and leg. Deepak Hooda goes on one knee and tries to sweep it away. It takes the top edge and flies behind the keeper's head. Mohammad Shami runs in from short fine leg, to his right, to gather the catch.

Strategic break! Gujarat are all over Lucknow at the moment. Deepak Hooda is stuck at one end watching wickets tumble at the other end. The spinners are doing the magic for Gujarat. Lucknow still need 75 runs, but they just have 2 wickets in hand. Dushmantha Chameera walks out to bat now.

It balloons towards point, Rashid reacts to his left from short third man and completes a great running catch, albeit in the second attempt.

The Aussie keeps on running with one eye on the fielder and doesn't realise that Hooda has stopped after taking off. Marcus has reached a point of no return. David Miller's throw from the deep is accurate and Wriddhiman Saha once again does the rest.

11.21wd

Wide! Turning down the leg side, Hooda tries to sweep but misses.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! The players are out in the middle. Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul will open the batting for Lucknow. Mohammad Shami will begin proceedings with the ball. Let's go!

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Right then! The target is just 145, but Gujarat have a vigorous bowling attack and it is capable of defending this total. Early wickets for Gujarat and the pressure will be on Lucknow. Stay tuned for the second essay!

Avesh Khan (4-0-26-2) is in for a chat. He says that they tried to concede lesser runs and bowls in the line of the stumps. Shares that the ball is gripping and stopping a bit off the surface. Feels that if a set batsman continues, he can score runs easily. Tells that he coordinates with the other bowlers on how the wicket is behaving and adds that he bowls according to the advice of KL Rahul who thinks like a batter. His advice to his batters is to stay at the crease and put away the bad balls.

Lucknow did not have the best of starts. They were a bit sloppy in the field at the beginning but they pulled things back immediately. They dominated the Powerplay by grabbing two wickets and giving away just 35 runs. They continued their magnificent bowling show during the middle phase well. Lucknow might not have picked up many wickets after the Powerplay, but they made sure not to leak runs. KL Rahul will be mighty pleased with this effort. Avesh Khan was excellent, he grabbed 2 wickets, while Mohsin Khan picked a wicket and gave away just 18 runs in his spell.

The decision of batting first did not really go in the favour of Hardik Pandya and his team. They lost early wickets, runs were hard to come by in the middle phase and they failed to power in the slog overs as well. Yes, it was a difficult pitch to bat on, but Gujarat could have done way better than this! Gill was the lone warrior in the innings, if it was not for his 63, Gujarat would not have been able to reach this target. The cameo of Rahul Tewatia was helpful as well. They do have a respectable total on the board now. We have seen low targets being defended here. Can Gujarat defend this one?

Lucknow continue to shine with the ball! It's been yet another awe-inspiring performance with the ball from KL Rahul's boys. Gujarat have posted one of the lowest totals on the board, joint-lowest at this venue this season to be precise (informs the on-air commentator). However, 16 runs in the last over have helped them put a par total.

SAFE! Very full in length, around leg, Rahul Tewatia tries to whip it across the line but misses. The ball goes off his pads to short third man and the bowler is appealing. The batters cross. KL Rahul opts for the review. Nothing on the UltraEdge and the Ball Tracking shows that it's the umpire's call on hitting the stumps. Tewatia remains unbeaten. GUJARAT FINISH ON 144/4!

Review! Lucknow have taken a review for LBW, against Rahul Tewatia! No bat involved confirms the UltraEdge. Ball Tracking shows it was the umpire's call on hitting the wickets. The on-field decision stands.

19.54

FOUR! Inventive from Rahul Tewatia. He is quite a finisher. Holder delivers it short, outside off, Rahul shuffles across the stumps and paddles it behind short fine leg for a boundary.

19.51wd

Wide! This one is outside the tramline, well outside off, Rahul Tewatia leaves.

19.40

In the region outside off, on the shorter side, Rahul Tewatia leaves it thinking it to be a wide. No signal from the umpire. The replays show that it's inside the tramline.

19.34

FOUR! Boom! Back of a length, around off, Rahul Tewatia waits on the back foot and slaps it down to long off for a cracking boundary.

19.31wd

Wide for height! Slower bouncer, around off and angling away, Rahul Tewatia jumps and tries to ramp it but misses.

19.24

FOUR! Edgy! Short in length and outside of, slower in pace again at 121 kph, Rahul Tewatia throws his bat at it and slices it towards third man for a boundary.

19.11

Pace off, short and wide outside off, Gill mistimes his punch to covers. Only a run.

Jason Holder comes to bowl the final over of the innings.

In the air... DROPPED! A length ball, on off. Rahul Tewatia stays back and throws the kitchen sink at it. The ball flies off the outer half towards backward point. Deepak Hooda calls for the catch but gets undone by the lights and fails to judge the ball, till the last moment. He puts in a forward dive but only to see the ball bounce in front of him. Nevertheless, the batters did not cross for a single.

Rahul Tewatia has been struck on his helmet. The physio is out there to conduct the mandatory concussion test. But he seems fine and we are good to resume!

18.50

Ouch, that's hit him on the helmet! A length ball, outside off. Rahul Tewatia goes across, gets on one knee and tries to slog it away but misses. He gets hit on the helmet in the process. Avesh Khan instantly has a check on the batter. That's a nice gesture.

18.40

A length ball, angled across around off. Tewatia walks across and tries to pull it away. It goes to the keeper off the thigh pad though.

18.34

Misfield and FOUR! A short ball, on off. Rahul Tewatia swivels and pulls it to deep square leg. The ball bounces in front of Ayush Badoni in the deep and spins away from the fielder. Badoni is down on the ground with his dive, as the ball crosses the ropes. A bit strange, usually the ball would have spun towards the left of the fielder but this one turned the other way. Googly for Ayush Badoni, poor chap.

18.21

Avesh Khan now fires a yorker, right on the money, on middle and leg. Shubman Gill digs it out off the inner edge, as it goes to the off side off the pads. They take one.

18.11

Short ball, on off. Rahul Tewatia pulls it to deep mid-wicket but does not hit it cleanly. The ball lands safely in the deep and they get just a single.

Avesh Khan (3-0-20-2) comes on to bowl the penultimate over of the innings.

A slower bumper, on off. Tewatia pulls it gently to deep mid-wicket for a single. Just 5 runs off the over. Another great evening for Mohsin Khan, 4-0-18-1!

17.50

Play and a miss! This one cuts Tewatia in half. Mohsin Khan bowling with fire now. A full-length ball, around off. It nips in a shade off the deck. Tewatia tries to defend it but gets beaten on the inside edge. He gets saved by the extra bounce as it misses the off stump by a whisker.

17.41

Good-length ball, outside off. Shubman Gill slaps it to mid off but just for a single.

17.31

A slower bouncer, outside off. Tewatia punches it to covers for just a single. This is brilliant bowling by Khan so far.

17.21

Short around off, Gill pulls it firmly across the line but only gets a single as the ball travels straight to deep mid-wicket.

The clash is set to begin. The Lucknow players stride out to the middle, followed by Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha who walk out to open for Gujarat. Mohsin Khan to start with the new ball for Lucknow. Here we go...

Shubman Gill is in for a chat. He says that he started off well, but he had some unfortunate dismissals, but he has found his form in the last few games and he wants to carry his momentum. Adds that the next few games are important for them if they have to stay in the top two in the points table. Talking about his inspiration, Gill replies that while growing up, it was Sachin sir but once he retired and once he started to understand the game a bit more, he was always a fan of Virat Kohli.

KL Rahul, the skipper of Lucknow, says they wanted to bowl first anyway. Adds that he was not aware of the stats here that the team batting first has won 8 out of the 11 times. Mentions that batting first could be tricky and it gives their bowlers the opportunity to see what the pitch has to offer. States that they are not chasing the perfect game and they have been finding ways to win. Further says that the challenges will be different this evening and it's important to hold their composure. Feels that it's important to assess the conditions quickly and get their tactics and strategies right. Informs that they have one change - Karan Sharma comes in for Ravid Bishnoi.

Hardik Pandya, the captain of Gujarat says that they are batting as they want to put runs on the board and the pitch looks fine, won't change much. Tells that the pitches have played a role here but it's more important for them to see how many runs they can put and how they defend it. Says that they have won 5 games which they could have lost so the odds have caught up and it is important as a team for them to be positive. Adds that it's important for them to forget the defeats, learn from them and move on. States that as a team they need to be positive. Informs that they have made three changes - Matthew Wade, Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore and Yash Dayal come in for Lockie Ferguson, Sai Sudharsan and Pradeep Sangwan. Mentions that all the changes are tactical.

Lucknow (Playing XI) - Quinton de Kock (WK), KL Rahul (C), Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis, Krunal Pandya, Ayush Badoni, Jason Holder, Dushmantha Chameera, Mohsin Khan, Karan Sharma (In for Ravi Bishnoi), Avesh Khan.

Gujarat (Playing XI) - Wriddhiman Saha (WK), Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade (In for Lockie Ferguson), Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore (In for Sai Sudharsan), Hardik Pandya (C), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Yash Dayal (In for Pradeep Sangwan), Alzarri Joseph, Mohammad Shami.

TOSS - The coin goes up and lands in favour of Hardik Pandya. GUJARAT ELECT TO BAT!

Pitch report - It's a breezy evening here in Pune. The surface to be used is number 8, right at the centre and it has been used twice before. Most of the wickets here have been picked by the fast bowlers, i.e. 21 out of 25. The pitch doesn't have much grass and it wears a dry look. The seamers will get a lot of help from it and the breeze will also help.

The last time these two sides met was at the start of the tournament and it was Gujarat who came out on top. Lucknow will like to settle a score here and become the first team to get into the playoffs. Whatever be the result, we are in for an intriguing contest. Stay tuned for the toss and other updates.

Lucknow, on the flip side, are coming into this game after winning four games on the trot. They have the winning momentum by their side and will be coming into this contest high on confidence. They have been clinical in all the departments of the game and Hooda batting at number 3 has done wonders for them. A solid and in-form batting line-up backed by an exemplary bowling attack, Lucknow look like the favourite to take this match.

Gujarat have had a great tournament so far, but they seem to have lost their rhythm. They are coming into this game after suffering consecutive losses. Their batting which has helped them win matches in crunch situations has not clicked in the last few games. That remains to be a slight issue. But, they are filled with match-winners and will have to step up in this important clash.

Hello and a warm welcome folks to match number 57 between the newbies of the tournament, Lucknow and Gujarat. The way they have been performing they do not really seem like the newbies. Both these sides are sitting pretty in the top half of the table with only being separated by the net run rate. The winner of this contest will get stationed at the top of the table and will also cement its spot in the playoffs. Plenty riding on this top-of-the-table clash. Stay tuned for more updates...
