Right then. That is all that we have from this game. Namibia make their way to the Super 12s and Ireland will catch a flight back home as they miss out this time around. We have one final game before the Super 12s get underway and the final game of Group A between Sri Lanka and Netherlands will get underway at 6 pm local (2 pm GMT). Switch tabs and catch all the action from that game. Cheers!

The captain of Namibia, Gerhard Erasmus, says that they are a small cricketing nation and this win means a lot to them. Mentions that they are very proud of themselves tonight. Adds that Wiese is the senior player of the team and has stepped up in crucial situations. Tells that the win has not sunk in yet but maybe it will soon.

Andy Balbirnie, the skipper of Ireland, says the side is surely gutted but says they will come back stronger in future campaigns. Also praises the effort of Namibia and says they were the better side.

DAVID WIESE IS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH! Wiese says it is very overwhelming. Adds the captain deserves to pick up this trophy and it was a proper captain's innings. Mentions the team has worked really hard and this was a strong performance from them.

Earlier in the day, after a really fruitful Powerplay from the Irish openers, they lost the plot and keep losing wickets regularly and were not able to capitalize on the good start to end on just 126. In the end, the total was just not enough for the Irish bowlers to defend and they have crashed out of the tournament.

Not the best bowling display by Ireland. They did well in the first 10 overs as they kept the run flow in check but failed to keep picking wickets. With the total not being a massive one, regular wickets was what Ireland needed but they never got them. They only managed 2 wickets and had they taken more scalps throughout the innings, they could have made life difficult for Namibia. Curtis Campher was the pick of the lot as he took 2 wickets and Josh Little bowled well too, but, it was not meant to be.

The start by Namibia was slow like a sloth as there was no quickness in their innings early on. They struggled to get going and only managed to score 27 runs, losing one wicket, in the Powerplay. They needed to get through the middle overs well and the duo of Gerhard Erasmus and Zane Green did that with their 48-run stand, which was slow again, but they did what was needed from them. The running between these two was the highlight as they did well to run hard and grab a couple of runs whenever possible. Green fell and the hero of the last game, David Wiese walked out. The 15th over changed the momentum for Namibia as they gathered 16 off that over. After that, the duo of Erasmus and Wiese played smartly and kept the run rate in check, with the skipper getting his fifty, and they took their team over the line, with 9 balls to spare.

A nation rejoices now! Namibia have done it! What a big moment this is for Namibian cricket as they have booked their place in the Super 12s. They have fought hard and have deservedly made their way to the next stage of this tournament. All the players will be very glad that their tournament can continue and it does not end prematurely. Ireland, on the other hand, will be mighty disappointed that they have failed to cross this hurdle and it will take them a while to get over this.

Commentary

The chase is set to begin. Ireland players stride out to the middle. Followed by the opening pair of Namibia, Craig Williams and Zane Green. Josh Little to start with the ball.

... The Run Chase ...

Right then. Ireland bowlers have a steep task in front of them. They have to defend a target of 126 runs. Will the bowlers rise to the occasion to take their side into the Super 12s or will Namibian batters work out a plan to get over the line? It is all to fight for. Do join us for the second essay.

Jan Frylinck is in for a chat! He says that they were under pressure in the Powerplay but they stuck to their plans and it worked out for them. Adds that the deck slowed down slightly as the game went on. Tells that back of a length was the area to bowl. Shares that he is feeling good and they are working hard. Thinks that they need to show patience if they are to chase this down.

Namibia bowlers showed great character with the ball. They started off on the wrong foot, and leaked way too many runs inside the Powerplay. Ireland were 55-0 in 6 overs, but later were teetering at 104-5 in 17 overs, which shows how tight things were kept by the bowlers. Ireland could only smack 21 runs in the last three overs. Jan Frylinck was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets. David Wiese scalped a brace, while JJ Smit and Bernard Scholtz took a wicket each.

Ireland batting could not capitalize on their advantage. The opening pair of Kevin O’Brien and Paul Stirling got off to a flying start. They laid down a solid formation for the rest of the batters. The pair racked up 55 runs in the Powerplay. But soon after, both slipped out and there was a drop in the run flow from thereon. Andy Balbirnie and Gareth Delany started off slowly, whereas the latter was sent back after an 18-ball 9. Only the top-three batters got into double digits, while the middle and the lower order lacked fight.

What a comeback by Namibia! They would be the happier side going into the break. The appalling batting form is still haunting Ireland in this campaign.

Comedy of errors! So much drama at the end! Another slower ball, outside off. Simi Singh steps out and mistimes it past the bowler. The batters take off for a single. David Wiese collects the ball and underarms the throw at the striker's end. He misses and the ball goes well past the keeper as well. The batters take a run off overthrows. Craig Young hares back for the third run and Simi Singh responds. There was a clear run out chance but the throw from the keeper's end to the bowler's end is way off target. The batters get the third run comfortably at the end and with that, IRELAND FINISH WITH 125/8.

DRINKS! Namibia have started off slowly, but they do have a lot of wickets in hand which will let the batters shift gears and start the attack very soon. Ireland, on the other hand, have been brilliant with the ball. They have stemmed the run flow and would hope to chip wickets at regular intervals, to put the pressure on Namibia.

The game is set to begin. But first it is time for the national anthems, as both the teams lineup in the middle. It will be the Irish anthem first followed by the one of Namibia. Now, the Namibia players spreadout to their respective fielding positions. Followed by Paul Stirling and Kevin O'Brien who come out to open for Ireland. Ruben Trumpelmann to start with the ball.

PITCH REPORT - Simon Doull and Russel Arnold are inspecting the deck. Russel Arnold says that there are a lot of cracks but the pitch is rolled well and will hold. Simon Doull says that back of a length is they key for pacers. Mentions that it is all about getting your lengths right and the bowlers must target the stumps and the pads.

The skipper of Namibia, Gerhard Erasmus, says that they would have bowled first and it is a new wicket and they will look to put them under pressure early on. Says that they have great momentum from the previous game and they will look to carry on the same. Informs that they have one change as Pikky Ya France comes in place of Stephan Baard. Shares that this change is purely tactical and they want to play another spinner on this deck.

Andy Balbirnie, the Irish skipper, is up for a chat. He says that they will bat first. Mentions that they want to put runs on the board and put pressure on Namibia. Tells that if they can put on a good total, they are confident of defending it. Tells that they are not sure of how the pitch will play. Informs that there are no changes to the side.

Namibia (Playing XI) - Pikky Ya France (In for Stephan Baard), Zane Green (WK), Craig Williams, Gerhard Erasmus (C), David Wiese, JJ Smit, Jan Frylinck, Michael Van Lingen, Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Ruben Trumpelmann, Bernard Scholtz.

Ireland (Unchanged Playing XI) - Paul Stirling, Kevin O'Brien, Andy Balbirnie (C), Gareth Delany, Curtis Campher, Harry Tector, Neil Rock (WK), Simi Singh, Mark Adair, Josh Little, Craig Young.

TOSS – Both the skippers stride out to the middle for the toss. The coin goes up and lands in favour of Ireland. They have opted to BAT first.

Namibia had a poor start to their campaign as they were knocked out for 96 by Sri Lanka in their first match. However, the side roared back in an admirable fashion against Netherlands. The talk of the town, David Wiese was the hero for them who arrived and smashed 66 off just 40 balls and finished the game in grand fashion to hand a defeat and knock Netherlands out of the tournament. Their top order hasn't really clicked and will be eyeing telling contribution coming into this fixture. Both teams are well-matched on paper. Namibia cannot be ruled out but they also will be aware of Ireland's experience. Only time will tell who will progress further. Stay tuned for further updates.

Ireland in their last match had control over Sri Lanka in the initial phases of the game but then the opposition took the game away from them and eventually, they lost the match by a whopping 70 runs. Irish batters had no answers to Sri Lanka's varied bowling attack and now they need to step up. They will be vary of the threat Namibia possesses and this is the only opportunity for them to make it through the next round. Their batting hasn't really fired and with the likes of Kevin O'Brien, Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling, they would be keen to put all their experience into play in what is a virtual knockout fixture.

Ireland will take on Namibia in the penultimate game of the qualifiers of the T20 World Cup. Unlike Group B, the qualification scenario is much simpler in Group A. Sri Lanka are already through to the Super 12 and whoever wins here will advance further. Both teams would be keen to bring on their 'A' game as they are in a do-or-die situation. Both teams will be aiming for a win in pursuit of progressing to the next round of the stages. On that note, welcome to the coverage.
