Stay tuned for the presentation...

Earlier in the night, Pakistan were off to a shaky start having been reduced to 43-4. Fifties by Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed helped Pakistan swing momentum in their way and post a challenging total on the board. South Africa were sharp with the new ball, but leaked apleanty in the death overs.

A complete performance by Pakistan! It was Shaheen Afridi who set the tone for Pakistan with two wickets in his first two overs. Just when a partnership was blossoming, Shadab Khan removed both set batters in the eighth over just before the rain intervened. With 73 needed off the final five overs, Pakistan held their nerves and successfully defended the total.

South Africa too lost one of their openers early when Quinton de Kock was dismissed in the first over. Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram then steadied the ship and kept the scoreboard ticking. With the threat of rain looming large, South Africa lost both batters in one over to put them in more misery. The revised target of 142 proved to be a lot and as a result, South Africa fell short by 33 runs.

Pakistan continue their domination over South Africa in the T20 World Cup. What a dominatng performance by Pakistan. First with the blade and then with the ball in hand. Although, with some luck on their side as the rain gods played a major part which forced the DLS method to intervene. So, Pakistan keep their hopes alive to make it to the Semis.

Commentary

We are back for the chase. The opening stand of South Africa, Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma stride out to the middle. Soon, the Pakistan players also take the field. It will be Shaheen Afridi to start with the new ball.

... The Run Chase ...

South Africa will be hopeful of chasing this down and booking their berth in the semi-finals while Pakistan need to defend this total to stay alive in the tournament. Chase coming up in a bit…

Anrich Nortje is in for a quick chat. He says they are obviously happy with the start but in the end, giving away too many boundaries in the end. Adds that it was a good test for the team to see where they are and hope they can get over the line here.

South African new bowlers were exceptional in the Powerplay picking three wickets. Having been in a commanding position halfway through the innings, South Africa let it slip courtesy of some average bowling that allowed Pakistan to make a comeback into the game. South Africa were sloppy in the field too and Temba Bavuma will hope that it does not come back to haunt them.

So, after 20 overs, Pakistan ends up with 185 on the board. They scored 117 in the last ten overs and certainly have the momentum at the halfway mark. Opting to bat first, Pakistan were dealt an early blow when they lost Mohammad Rizwan on the fourth ball of the innings. Playing in his first T20 World Cup, Mohammad Haris came out with the intent of taking on the South African bowlers. Once he was dismissed, Pakistan were reduced to 43-4. However, with contributions from Nawaz, Iftikhar, and Shadab, Pakistan have made a solid recovery.

An incredible end to this enthralling innings.

UPDATE 5.01 pm IST (11.31 am GMT) - Good news folks, we have a restart time! The covers are finally off. The game will restart at 5.10 pm IST (11.40 am GMT). The game has been reduced to 14 overs. The revised target is142 so South Africa now need 73 from 30 deliveries.

UPDATE 4.34 pm IST (11.04 am GMT) - The drizzle is still on and the umpires are seen having a chat on the ground with umbrellas. The players are waiting near the ropes and the covers are still on. Let's hope for some cricket soon. Fingers crossed.

UPDATE 4.41 pm IST (11.11 am GMT) - Some positive signs! It looks like the covers are coming off now, but the pitch cover still remains intact. The crowd cheers as they are anticipating some action soon. Although, the rain gods continue to be a part of it. The umpires are checking the landing area of the bowler. Fingers crossed!

UPDATE 4.12 pm IST (10.42 am GMT)- The rain is coming down a bit heavier now. The umpires converge, but it looks like the play will go on. Keeping in the mind, the DLS method, South Africa are 16 runs behind at the moment after losing wickets in quick succession. OH WAIT! The inevitable has happened and the covers are on now. So, Pakistan have an advantage as they head out of the field. We hope it is just a passing shower and we back with some action soon.
