Right then, that is all we have from this game. The action in the Indian T20 League continues and it will be El-Clasico on Thursday, 12th May as Chennai take on Mumbai at the Wankhede Stadium. That game starts at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Our coverage, though, will start in advance. Do join us for the same. Till then, goodbye and cheers!

Mitchell Marsh is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his all-round performance. He took two wickets with the ball in hand and then scored a brilliant knock of 89 from 62 balls. He says it was a tough game. Adds the wicket was difficult as the slower balls were sticking. He felt 160 was par but they needed one stand and they got it. Mentions the first few overs were very tough, it was swinging and there was extra bounce and once they got through that, it got easier. Informs he is very happy, they need to win all their games now, he is finding form and he is pleased with the win. Ends by saying he actually thought he had hit the ball so he wasn’t worried but you need luck in this game.

Rishabh Pant, the skipper of Delhi, says it was very close to a perfect game but there is always room for improvement. Mentions you can bowl and bat first on such wickets but bowling first suits them. Adds 140 to 160 would have been a good score for them and they kept them around that. Mentions they will look to give their 100 percent and look to win all the games. Mentions they need to be better in fielding. He is hopeful of Shaw returning but for now he is quite sick.

Time for the presentation.

David Warner is down for a chat. He says that it it feels great to get across the line. Credits Marsh for the way he played and they knew if he stayed there, they would win. Also credits the bowlers for the way they bowled. Informs it was a challenging wicket. Adds they hope to build from this game and win the next game. Says it was hard for Khaleel to miss out but the atmosphere in the camp is great.

Sanju Samson, the skipper of Rajasthan, says it was a disappointing night. Adds they were a few runs short. States the wicket was a little too paced in the first innings and they ended 15 to 20 runs short and in the second innings, luck just did not go their way. States he never thought that hit Mitchell’s pad and he thought it was bat. Mentions it is important to comeback stronger, they believe in themselves and hope to come back stronger.

Time for some interviews!

Rajasthan will think they were just one wicket away from getting on top in this game but that wicket came a little too late and the game was gone by the time Chahal got that wicket in the 18th over. They bowled brilliantly at the start though and were a bit unlucky too, but it was Delhi who were more clinical in their execution and got a crucial victory in the end.

Delhi came out with a plan with the ball and executed it quite well as though they did not take many wickets in the first half of their bowling innings, they managed to keep things tight. Marsh took two important wickets with the ball but overall it was their brilliant death bowling that helped them restrict Rajasthan to a par score. Ashwin was the top scorer for Rajasthan with a half ton. In reply the start for them though was not good with the bat as Srikar Bharat departed in the first over. However, the Aussie duo of Warner and Marsh stitched together a 144-run stand with Marsh being an aggressor. He departed for a score of 89 but by that time, Delhi needed just 17 and the formalities were completed by Pant and Warner.

A very comfortable victory for Delhi in the end and an important one too as this keeps their season alive. It was Mitchell Marsh who finally came to the party and dished out a brilliant all-round performance to hand a more fancied Rajasthan lineup a defeat here.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! Rajasthan players are in huddle and they now disperse to take their respective positions. David Warner and Srikar Bharat are the openers for Delhi. Trent Boult will start with the ball for Rajasthan. Here we go...

...THE RUN CHASE…

Now the total is not a big one and Delhi should fancy themselves to chase this down. Their batters though have not been in the best of touches. Rajasthan, on the other hand, have a good bowling unit. The wicket is offering something for the bowler and if they bowl well, they are going to make it tough for Delhi. Stay tuned for the reply.

Mitchell Marsh is down for a chat. He says that it was nice to get some wickets and they tried hitting the lengths hard keeping big boundaries in the mind. Tells that they bowled well to keep Rajasthan to 160. Mentions that they need to be positive and run hard between the wickets and of they keep wickets in the hand they will be in the chase. Signs off by saying that it will be a great chase.

For Delhi, the Powerplay was good but in the middle overs, their bowlers leaked more runs than they would have liked. Especially, Axar Patel who was not at his best. Kuldeep too bowled well in bits and pieces. Nortje was also on the expensive side. Marsh though did a decent job with the ball. Thakur could also be happy with his figures but Sakariya was the pick of the bowlers by a long way.

Delhi began brilliantly, especially, Chetan Sakariya who got the wicket of Buttler. Their bowlers then managed to keep it tight and they were also rewarded with the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, Ashwin and Devdutt Padikkal did brilliantly. The former counter-attacked and got up a fine half ton. He fell but Padikkal continued. However, they did not get the finish they would have wanted as they kept losing wickets towards the end. Still though, they have a competitive total on the board.

Delhi have done brilliantly in the last few overs to keep Rajasthan at the 160-run mark and they will be very pleased with how things stand at the moment.

Rajasthan on the other hand, need to break this stand if they are to have a chance in this game. The wicket is getting slower and a wicket might just turn things for them but they need it quickly. Important phase awaits.

We are all set to begin! Delhi players are out there in the middle. Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal are the openers for Rajasthan. Chetan Sakariya to start with the ball for Delhi. Here we go...

David Warner is down for a chat. He says that it is a do-or-die game for them and there were a few hiccups here and there and adds that they are ready to go. Tells that it is all about sticking to the basics and keeping it as simple as they can. Mentions that against Chennai they were batting at just one tempo and failed to rotate the strike which they can learn from that game. Tells that for him it is all about batting well for the first 6 overs and taking the game as deep as he can and that helps other batters to take on. Signs off by saying that he is absolutely loving his time in the Indian T20 League.

Rajasthan (Playing XI) - Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (C) (WK), Devdutt Padikkal, Rassie van der Dussen (In place of Shimron Hetmyer), Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Sen.

Delhi (Playing XI) - Srikar Bharat, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (C) (WK), Rovman Powell, Lalit Yadav (In place of Ripal Patel), Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Chetan Sakariya (In place of Khaleel Ahmed), Anrich Nortje.

Sanju Samson, the skipper of Rajasthan, says they do not mind setting a total as they have been doing it well. Informs Rassie van der Dussen comes in for Shimron Hetmyer. Adds they would like to continue to play some good cricket. Reckons the wicket might be a little sticky to begin with but he is looking forward to bat on it.

Rishabh Pant, the skipper of Delhi, says the wicket seems on the drier side and there might be dew and hence, they want to bowl first. States they only want to think about positives at the moment. Adds they want to take more wickets in the middle overs. Reckons 140 to 160 will be good to chase. Informs they have two changes as Khaleel Ahmed and Ripal go out.

TOSS - The coin goes up and lands in favour of Delhi. They have elected to BOWL first.

PITCH REPORT - Graeme Swann is down for the pitch report. He says that boundaries are big on one side and small on the other. Tells that it looks like a fairly good pitch and there is even covering of grass. Adds that some part of the pitch is hard but very dry and it will be tricky to bat second. Mentions that the skipper that wins the toss will look to bat first and overall it is a fairly good pitch first up and will help spinners later on.

Delhi have struggled to win two games in a row. They have been pretty inconsistent but can’t afford anymore slip ups now. They face a big challenge against Rajasthan who after a couple of slip ups have got back to winning ways and will be eager to continue that. They will be without the services of Shimron Hetmyer and that surely is a big blow for them. However, a win here will see them have one foot in the playoffs. They also won the earlier encounter between the two sides. Can they do the double? Or will Delhi manage to keep their hopes alive? We shall find out. Toss and team sheets in a while.

The race for the top 4 spots is heating up and two teams looking to finish in one of those positions will be battling it out today. It is Delhi against Rajasthan. One sits 5th in the table and the other at the 3rd spot. A win for Rajasthan could see them go to second. Whereas, a win for Delhi will see them lessen the margin with the teams above. A lot at stake. Welcome to the coverage.
