Right then. That’s it from the coverage of this game. Mumbai have won the game convincingly here. They have kept their playoffs hopes alive, going into their last game. Rajasthan, on the other hand, will now find it really difficult to make it to the playoffs. They will need a miracle to make it into the top four. The Indian T20 League action continues on 6th October 2021. This game will see a clash between Bangalore and Hyderabad which will kick off at 6 pm local (2 pm GMT). But as you all know the build-up begins quite early. Till then goodbye and take care!

Nathan Coulter-Nile is the Man of the Match. He says that he tried to keep it simple, it was a hard wicket to bat and they bowled really well. Shares that they just wanted to stick to good lines and make it tough for the batters. Tells that they have Boult and Bumrah upfront and they are world-class bowlers and they make his job easier.

Rohit Sharma, the skipper of Mumbai, says that they had to come here and play a good game as they wanted those 2 points. Adds that it was important for them to come out and bat freely at least at the start of the innings and they did so. Tells that they wanted Ishan Kishan to take his time and he did not tell anything to him when they were in the middle. Adds that they have been on and off in this season but credits his team for coming back strongly in this match. Signs off by saying that Kolkata's game is before Mumbai's last game so things would be pretty clear for them.

... PRESENTATION TIME ...

Ishan Kishan is there for a chat. He says that it is good to get runs for his team. States that he is feeling really good. Goes on to say that he thinks that it was good to field first as they got an idea about how to play on this wicket. Says that they planned to play straight and they executed really well. Tells that he feels ups and downs are a big part of life for any sportsman and they have a great supporting staff. Says that he had a chat with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya and they have been really supportive. Adds that they have been talking about Kolkata losing their next game but they (Mumbai) need to play with the same energy in their last game.

Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan skipper, says that it was a challenging wicket to bat on, especially in the first innings and it was very different from Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Adds that Abu Dhabi was one of the best batting wickets but at Sharjah, it was tough. Goes on to say that, they would like to take some time off and they will try to play better in their last game. States that Mumbai came out strong and they batted really well.

Earlier on in the innings, after being put to bat, Rajasthan could not find any inspiration with the blade. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and Mumbai restricted them to a below-par score of 90 runs. Later, Mumbai came out to bat and chased down the target with ease.

Rajasthan had a difficult task ahead of them! They did not have enough runs to defend on the board and their bowlers were attacked from the word go. Mustafizur Rahman and Chetan Sakariya were the only bowlers who snared a wicket each. In the end, it was not a good day for Rajasthan.

Ishan Kishan rises from the ashes for Mumbai! They had 91 runs to chase down, to keep their hopes to get into the playoffs alive and they did that with ease. Rohit Sharma was on the attack from the word go. He smacked 14 runs in the very first over, to build a solid foundation for the chase. While Kishan started off slowly, he grew well into the innings. Once Sharma got out, Kishan took the charge along with Suryakumar Yadav and they grabbed a few quick boundaries. After the departure of SKY, it was all about Ishan Kishan. He went on to make his half-ton which came along with the winning runs. After a rough patch in this season, Kishan certainly needed an innings like this to boost his confidence.

A convincing victory for Mumbai. 91 was not a huge ask for their batters and they chased it down with ease. This is an important win for them, as the net run rate comes into play. The Rajasthan bowlers could not keep the run-flow in control and could not make it difficult for the opposition.

Commentary

We are set for Mumbai's reply! The players of Rajasthan are in a huddle before striding out to the middle. Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma are the opening batters of Mumbai who are at the crease! Mustafizur Rahman to start with the ball.

....THE RUN CHASE....

Right then! 91 to win from 20 overs. It should be a straightforward chase for Mumbai but their main aim would be to get these runs quickly and improve their net run rate which would be helpful. Rajasthan, on the other hand, need to pick up wickets at regular intervals and make life difficult for Mumbai. Will we see Rajasthan defend this score or will Mumbai chase this down with ease? We will find out as the chase begins in a while.

James Neesham is up for a quick chat. He says that the pitch is a bit challenging and the bowlers did a great job. Tells that they are happy that they executed their plans under pressure. Adds that every batter has their own plan and they are hoping that they get off to a great start in the Powerplay. Credits Trent Boult by saying that he is a fantastic bowler and has great wrists but he also works hard in the nets.

Mumbai, on the other hand, were simply brilliant! All the bowlers were terrific in their spell and they now have a very good chance of improving their net run rate. Nathan Coulter-Nile was the pick of the bowlers, picking up 4 wickets. Bumrah was superb as well while James Neesham, playing his first game of the second leg, was terrific as well. They have done very well and have restricted Rajasthan to just 90 which is the lowest score at Sharjah this season.

Rajasthan though had a decent start with Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal looking good in the middle. They played some lovely shots but once Jaiswal was dismissed, things went haywire as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. No one got going and they just could not adjust to the slowness of the wicket and they crumbled. The highest score of the innings was by Lewis and there was nothing much else from the others. Overall, a very poor effort with the bat.

What an excellent bowling performance from Mumbai! They have done very well and should be able to chase this down without breaking any sweat. They will look to get the runs quickly and improve their net run rate. Rajasthan, on the other hand, will be very disappointed and now they need a monumental effort to defend this score.

But then, Nathan Coulter-Nile came into the attack to get rid of Jaiswal who was looking dangerous in the middle. Soon after, Lewis and Samson were sent back, leaving Rajasthan in a spot of bother. Mumbai are clearly ahead in the game. They have already taken three wickets and would look to keep picking up wickets at regular intervals. The game is set to begin. Mumbai players are in a huddle. Rohit Sharma is passing some words by his team. The players then spread out and take their respective fielding positions. Followed by Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal who come out to open for Rajasthan. Trent Boult to start with the ball.

Rajasthan (Playing XI) - Evin Lewis, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (C & WK), Shivam Dube, Glenn Phillips, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Kuldip Yadav (In for Akash Singh), Shreyas Gopal (In for Mayank Markande), Chetan Sakariya, Mustafizur Rahman.

Mumbai (Playing XI) - Rohit Sharma (C), Ishan Kishan (In for Quinton de Kock), Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, James Neesham (In for Krunal Pandya), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Jayant Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Trent Boult.

Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan skipper, says that in this tournament, they face different challenges and they have a combination that can win on this wicket. Adds that they have to keep on trusting their players and their routines. States that they have made two changes as Shreyas Gopal replaces Mayank Markande and Kuldip Yadav comes in for Akash Singh.

Rohit Sharma, the skipper of Mumbai, is up for a chat. He says, they will bowl first. Mentions they have tried everything in this UAE leg, they have tried bowling first or batting first. In this game, they feel it is better to chase the target. Adds they have done the hard work and will hope they display it on the pitch. Adds, by saying they need to focus on their game, and everything will fall into place. Also says, they have two changes coming into this game. Ishan Kishan comes in for Quinton de Kock and James Neesham comes in for Krunal Pandya.

Toss - Up goes the coin and it lands in favour of Mumbai. They have elected to bowl.

PITCH REPORT - Murali Karthik is down for the pitch report. He says that this pitch has been used twice and both the times the team that has chased, has won the match. Tells that run scoring would be a bit tough and the pitch looks pretty dark. Signs off by saying that the team winning the toss should bowl first.

Rajasthan too, haven't had the best of tournaments so far but they would be high on confidence having beaten a strong Chennai side in their previous game. But they are going to be playing at Sharjah for the first time this season and the pitches here have been very different to the other two venues. It will be interesting to see the approach of Rajasthan's batters, especially after their last game where they chased 190 with utmost ease.  Will we witness another spectacular batting display from the men in pink and blue or will Mumbai's bowlers give a tough time to them? We will find that soon as it promises to be a mouth-watering clash. Stay tuned for toss and further updates.

Mumbai, the defending champions, have not played anywhere close to their potential so far and they are placed 7th in the points table due to poor net run rate. They haven't clicked as a unit in the second leg and that could cost them a spot in the playoffs. Their batting unit hasn't found the right rhythm on the slowish surfaces in UAE and they are in desperate need of some vital contributions from their top as well as middle order. The experienced bowlers in Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult have also been a tad inconsistent and they would be eager to put their best foot forward while they take the field against Rajasthan. Rohit Sharma and his boys are known to overcome tough situations and they will be looking to bounce back harder.

Hello folks! Welcome to game number 51 of the Indian T20 League where Rajasthan will go up against Mumbai. We are already in the business end of the tournament and the race to grab the fourth spot and enter into the playoffs is heating up. Both these teams have all to play for as this is a must-win encounter for them.

....Match Day....
