For Pakistan, it was all about Shaheen Afridi! He was simply superb in the opening spell as he was the only bowler to fall in the wickets column. He was unplayable and Pakistan would hope that he can continue that form. Mohammad Abbas was brilliant as well but could not find a wicket. Hasan Ali bowled a couple of wickets. Overall, they did a very good job but they need to keep putting the pressure on West Indies. The second session will begin at 12.40 pm local (5.40 pm GMT). Do join us then.

West Indies will be disappointed that they lost three wickets and they have a long way to go on this pitch. West Indies were off to a poor start as they lost Kieran Powell early and then Brathwaite and Bonner could not do much and they were on the back foot. West Indies will not be too displeased with how this day has panned out, but after taking 5 wickets, they would have wanted to take one or two more, probably the wicket of Babar Azam, which would have put them in the driving seat. Kemar Roach was on fire, as he kept things tight and also took 2 wickets. Seales, unlike Roach, went for some runs, but his over, in which he took 2 wickets, turned the tide for the hosts. Holder got the big wicket of Rizwan too, which was an important one.

Pakistan started off the day very nicely, as, in just 16 balls, they dismissed the hosts out, and ended the first innings of West Indies, behind by 36 runs. Their openers did not show any resistance as Imran Butt was sent packing early. Azhar Ali and Abid Ali showed some fight, but in no time, these two, along with Fawad Alam were back in the hut. It was then, that Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan came together and decided to take matters into their own hands. They raised a 56-run stand, but Holder got the better of Rizwan too, after the rain break. Azam got to his fifty and in the able company of Ashraf, they both got through Stumps on Day 3, without any more casualties.

Another great day of Test cricket is what these two sides have served us. Yes, there was a delay due to the rain, but apart from that, it has been a smooth ride on the moving day. At the end of Day 3, Pakistan will have a wider smile, as even though they lost 5 wickets, they still have Babar Azam out in the middle, and also have a lead of 124 to their name.

Update 4.25 pm local (9.25 pm GMT) - Well, we finally have some good news for you. The conditions have been gauged by the umpires and they have decided that play will resume at 4.40 pm local (9.40 pm GMT). Play can be extended until 6.30 pm local (11.30 pm GMT). Let's hope that the rain stays away now. Bad light has been an issue in the last couple of days and we will hope that it does not hamper play today.

Update 3.30 pm local (8.30 pm GMT) - We have some good news for you good folks! The rain has eased off and the covers are coming off now too. We are hearing that there will be an inspection held at 4.15 pm local (9.15 pm GMT). Let's hope that the inspection brings yields about a starting time.

Update 3.10 pm local (8.10 pm GMT) - Images from the ground show that there is a slight drizzle on at the moment. It does not look too heavy but the rain is coming down constantly as well. There are puddles formed out on the outfield too. Let's hope for some more positive news shortly. Stay tuned.

.... Day 3, Session 3 ....

A session, which you would say was shared between both sides. Pakistan would be the slightly happier side, as after being in a spot of bother, they have done well, courtesy Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. It was an over by Jayden Seales, which opened the floodgates as he removed Abid Ali and Fawad Alam in that one over, which pushed the Asians on the back foot. Then, the duo of Azam and Rizwan came together and did extremely well to steady the ship and take them to safer shores. They played sensibly early on, but when they settled in, they started playing their strokes. Pakistan are ahead by 81 runs and will look to come out and build on the same. The Men in Maroon know that they need to break this stand and will look to do that, and then, pick some more wickets quickly. Update 2.20 pm local (7.20 pm GMT) - It was drizzling for a while here and now, it has started to get really heavy and the umpires decide that the players should walk off now. The covers are coming on as well. The umpires decide that TEA WILL BE TAKEN EARLY!
