Alrighty then. Things will get much spicier from here on. South Africa level the series 1-1. There are still 3 matches to go. Do join us on 29th June at 2000 Local (6000 GMT) for the third T20I. Till then, goodbye and cheers!

Tabraiz Shamsi is up for a chat - He says that the pitch was more like the Caribbean pitches he is used to. Adds that yesterday the conditions came off well for them but today was their day.Says that Pollard is very very smart and he wouldn't have got the wicket if it wasn't for Hendricks who took an excellent catch. Jokes that he is a bit older to do the celebration nowadays. Goes onto say that it would be nice to play with the crowd and the celebrations will come soon. Finally says that they know what West Indies are capable of and it was just their day.

Temba Bavuma is up for a chat- He says that yesterday they had to have the conversation to prove their discipline. Adds that the guys came in having an open mind and the result shows that. Adds that they were able to carry the intensity but didn't capitalize towards the end. Mentions that the spin duo was amazing and as a captain, it makes a lot of things easier. States that he expects the same from them. Adds that they want to keep things simple and enjoy out there. Goes on to say that the conditions here kind of expect bowlers to mix it up and bowl well.

Kieron Pollard is up for a chat- He says that the bowlers did well to restrict South Africa to a decent total. Adds that he knew they will come hard against us. Mentions that they lost the game in between the 7th to 11th overs. Goes onto say that Pooran and Russell were not able to stick there. Further says that they will not hide away from the loss and will come back stronger. States that they need to rotate the strike more. Ends with saying that McCoy is taking the responsibility to bowl in death overs and he is executing his plans well. Finally says that they have one day to rest and will come back stronger.

George Linde, PLAYER OF THE MATCH, is up for a chat - He says that he went back to the basics again and bowled accordingly. He adds that he was happy that the ball came on nicely and mentions that Shamsi is more deserving to get this award. Further states that they got up, looked in the mirror, and said that they could perform better after yesterday's game and says that luckily it worked out well for them.

South Africa did what they just needed as the red-hot duo of Nortje and Rabada removed the in-form Ewin Lewis and the Universe Boss early into the innings. The Spinners then joined the party and ran through their middle order with George Linde and Tabraiz Shamsi sharing 3 wickets between them conceding only 35 runs in 8 overs. The bowlers did exceedingly well to keep West Indies quiet and never gave them a chance to settle. The Proteas pacers did lose momentum towards the end but they still managed to put on a show and level the series.

West Indies never looked into the game. None of the batters managed to settle in and get on a big score. Ewin Lewis started well for West Indies but couldn't repeat his heroics. The wickets kept tumbling for them as Chris Gayle got departed early followed by Pooran and the skipper Pollard. Fletcher stayed long at the crease but never looked settle and ultimately got out forcing himself to go big seeing the run-rate creeping up. Bravo and Allen did play cameos towards the end and tried to build a partnership but it was just not enough. A tough day at the office for the Windies.

Commentary

The South African players make their way out in the field. Followed by the dangerous Ewin Lewis and Andre Fletcher. George Linde to start with the first over.

Right Then. A pretty much chasable target for the West Indies batters considering the batting order they possess. Meanwhile, South Africa will need early wickets if they want to level the series. An interesting chase coming up.

West Indies pacers started off poorly and didn't bowl into the right line and lengths. This led them to concede 69 in the first six overs. Kevin Sinclair bowled well and removed both the openers before they could add more fuel to the fire. After getting punished heavily in the powerplay, the bowlers did well to pull things back as they bowled really well in the middle overs. The wickets too kept coming at regular intervals. The bowlers didn't allow other batters to settle in after removing the openers except for Bavuma. But it won't hurt them as the bowlers have given the batters a chance to chase this modest target of 167.

Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock took South Africa to a flying start with Hendricks playing the attacking role. De Kock too supported him knocking a few boundaries. The Proteas scored 69 inside the powerplay. Kevin Sinclair sent both the openers back into the hut soon after that but Bavuma and Miller kept the scoreboard ticking before Miller departed. Bavuma continued to take on the Windies bowlers and got out for 46. The openers set the tone for South Africa and the skipper's innings helped them to put on a fighting total of 166.

19.50

SWING AND A MISS! A full ball, outside off. Anrich Nortje looks to push but misses. Can he milk some runs off the last ball?

19.41

On the pads. This is flicked to square leg for a single.

19.3W

OUT! CAUGHT! Back of a length delivery on off, Heinrich Klaasen connects it this time but doesn't get the elevation he needed. His pull shot went straight into the hands of Evin Lewis at deep mid-wicket. Good grab by Lewis as the ball was in the air for a long time. Obed McCoy gets a reward after bowling excellent slower deliveries.

19.20

Fuller ball outside off, Klaasen reverse scoops but misses.

Halt in play as Heinrich Klaasen has some issues with his pads.

19.12

Slower and shorter on middle, Klaasen pulls it towards deep square leg. He calls for two and gets it comfortably in the end. The keeper fails to collect the throw from the deep. Otherwise, even the dive might not have saved him there.

Less than 24 hours is what the visitors have had to get over their battering from the first game. Is that much time enough to actually get over that beating? Is that much time enough to reflect on what went wrong and what probably could have been done right? Well, it has to be as a loss for South Africa here will mean, they will be facing an uphill task to let alone win the series but just to stay alive. However, knowing the proteas, you can surely expect them to comeback stronger. For the Windies, a repeat of yesterday is what they would love. Will we see another one-sided affair or will there by an equal competition between bat and ball this time? Welcome to the coverage of the second T20I. Stay tuned for further updates.
