Right then, that is all we have from this one-sided affair as England take a 2-0 lead in the series. New Zealand will have want to save the series in the next encounter now that they have lost the opportunity to win it. The third T20 will take place on Sunday 3rd September as we move to Edgbaston in Birmingham. The first ball will be bowled at 7 pm IST (1.30 pm GMT) but you can join us for the build-up well in advance. Until then, goodbye and cheers!

Jos Buttler, the captain of England says that he is very happy with how his team played. He credits Gus Atkinson who on his debut performed exceptionally well and adds that some experience will be useful for him for future tournaments. He feels that having many bowling options is a big plus point. He credits Harry Brook for playing a brilliant knock and appreciates his talent.

Tim Southee, the skipper of New Zealand says that margins can be important in this format. He feels that they started well with the ball but failed to capitalize in the middle stages and says they have got to improve in all three areas. Speaking about Jonny and Harry's partnership, he says that they batted brilliantly. He mentions that the batting unit needs some improvement and they will learn from this game

Jonny Bairstow is the Player of the Match for his unbeaten knock of 86 in 60 deliveries. He says that it was a great team performance. He adds that it is good to be back in form and the swing wasn't easy at the start but this ground suited his batting. He credits Harry Brook for the way he batted and built a partnership with him. He hopes that they will bat more together. He mentions that he gave the strike to the batters who were striking the ball well. He claims that Gus Atkinson's bowling is scary for any opposition due to his pace and this performance will be a great confidence booster for him.

Time for the presentations...

England dominated with the bat as well and a 131-run partnership for the third wicket in just 65 deliveries between Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook took England close to the 200-run mark. Bairstow remained unbeaten on 86 of 60 deliveries and Harry Brook scored a quickfire 67 in just 3 balls. All the bowlers barring Adam Milne were expensive for New Zealand with Ish Sodhi taking two wickets while Tim Southee and Mitchell Santner chipped in with one wicket each. In this end, their bowling effort was well under par but the batters were unable to make up for the deficiencies of the bowler as the succumbed under the scoreboard pressure.

New Zealand got off to a disastrous start losing their two openers Devon Conway and Finn Allen in consecutive overs off the bowling of Gus Atkinson and Sam Curran. The former claimed his first wicket in international cricket on just his fourth delivery and England were right on top of their opponents. Tim Seifert and Glenn Phillips started the rebuild as the Kiwis ended the Powerplay on 42 for the loss of two wickets. Adil Rashid broke the partnership that was building as he dismissed Phillips after which wickets fell at regular intervals. Mark Chapman played a few lusty blows off the bowling of Liam Livingstone but the spinner had the last laugh. A wicket each from Brydon Carse, Will Jacks and Adil Rashid had New Zealand right on the back foot and Gus Atkinson wrapped up the innings with three wickets in one over to end with the best figures by a debutant for England in T20Is.

Gus Atkinson has made an instant impact in international cricket! A clinical performance by England and they have now taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in this four-match series! They have dominated in all three departments to seal a massive 95-run win and New Zealand will have to go back to the drawing-room if they are to get back into this series and have a chance of sharing the honours. The hosts had the upper hand in this game right from the word go and never took their foot off the pedal as they showed why they are the champions of the shortest formats of cricket.

... THE RUN CHASE ...

Will England bowlers defend a 199 or will the New Zealand batters manage to accomplish their target and level the series? Join us in a while to find out what happens in the chase.

Not much to say about the New Zealand bowlers. Tim Southee and Mitchell Santner took some quick wickets at the start of the innings but after that, they failed to put pressure on the batters in the middle stages. Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook took them apart quite easily and smashed them around the ground for boundaries. Ish Sodhi came in and took two quick wickets dismissing Harry Brook and Moeen Ali who came in and smashed a maximum off his first ball. Adam Milne was the most economical of the bowlers though he went wicket-less, he gave away only 23 runs off his 4 overs. Some good death bowling under pressure helped them restrict England to under 200. The target for the batters to chase is 199.

England started off well but were pulled back by a few quick wickets of Will Jacks and Dawid Malan. Jonny Bairstow and Harry Brook handled the reigns and dealt some great damage to the opposition’s bowling unit. Both of them completed their half-centuries as they built up a strong partnership of 131 runs. Brook departed after scoring 67. Moeen Ali came in but was also sent back to the pavilion after hitting a six off his first ball. Jonny carried on and scored an unbeaten 86 runs off 60 balls. The skipper, Jos Buttler contributed in the end giving a good finish to the innings. They could not go par the 200 mark but just enough managed to get to 198. Now it is up to their bowling unit to defend this total.

We are all set for the game to begin as the umpires make their way out to the middle. The Kiwi players stride onto the ground and take their respective fielding positions. Jonny Bairstow and Will Jacks will open the inning for England and will want to get a good partnership going here. Adam Milne has the new ball in his hand and is ready to begin proceedings. Let's play...

New Zealand (Unchanged Playing XI) - Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Tim Seifert (WK), Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee (C), Lockie Ferguson.

England (Playing XI) - Jonny Bairstow, Will Jacks, Dawid Malan, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler (C/WK), Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid, Brydon Carse, Gus Atkinson (on debut in place of Luke Wood).

TOSS - The captains are out in the middle. The coin is flipped into the air and lands in favour of England. They have elected to BAT first.

New Zealand on the other hand, has a lot to work on for this match. Their batting unit failed to put runs on the board in the last match and the bowlers just did not have much to defend. Glenn Phillips was the only positive for the last match as he scored the highest among the batters. Finn Allen and Devon Conway should give the team good strong starts. Their bowling unit will be led by their skipper, Tim Southee along with Adam Milne and Lockie Ferguson supporting him in the pace department. Mitchell Santner and Ish Sodhi will take care of the spin department. New Zealand will hope to gain momentum by winning this match and leveling the series. Sit tight as live action will begin shortly. Toss and team news to follow.

England leads the series 1-0 after winning the last match comfortably with 7 wickets to spare. It was an all-round performance by the team and they dominated the entire match in all the departments. Their bowling department looks strong, especially with Luke Wood and Brydon Carse in form. The spinners, Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone also had a good last match. Sam Curran will try to be amongst the wickets in this match along with scoring some runs. In their batting department, Harry Brook and Dawid Malan scored most of the runs in their last outing while Jonny Bairstow was dismissed for a low score. They have their skipper, Jos Buttler down the order along with Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone to end the innings with some explosive batting. This looks like a very strong white ball team and they will hope to win this match and increase their lead.

Hello and a very warm welcome folks. We arrive at Old Trafford, Manchester for the 2nd T20I out of the four matches to be played between England and New Zealand. England is leading the series 1-0 and this match will be an important match for both the teams as one will try to extend their lead while the other will try to level the series. The weather looks perfect for an exciting day of cricket being played.
