Right then! That is all we have from this game and unfortunately from this tour as well. The ODI series has forcibly been called off for now due to covid and will now take place in June 2022. Pakistan have swept away the T20I series. There is still a lot of cricket taking place around the world and you can catch our coverage of the Ashes live on 17 December, Friday. The action begins at 02:30 pm local time (04:00 am GMT). Till then, goodbye and take care!

Babar Azam, the Pakistan skipper, says that they wanted to play according to the situation and they wanted to play till the end by keeping run-scoring going. He adds that youngsters have done very well and bench strength has done well whenever given chance. He adds that they are preparing well for the T20 World Cup and they have momentum on their side. He applauds Mohammad Rizwan for his performance and how he has worked on his game.

The Windies skipper, Nicholas Pooran says that he felt they lost momentum in the last two overs when they were batting and applauds the Pakistani bowlers for their efforts and feels like they were 20 runs short. He mentions that they hardly got any sleep last night due to the covid situation and he is really proud of the boys and mentions that it takes a lot of mental strength to come out here and play. He adds that the guys did get better and better as the series progressed and they have a lot of young guys in the squad and it is a great platform for them to showcase their talent.

Mohammad Rizwan is the Player of the Match and Player of the Series. He says that 200 is a huge total and they wanted to capitalize on the Powerplay. He adds that he keeps everything to god and he goes match by match and does not think of stats. He mentions that he has worked on his go-to shot on the on the side and he is continuously trying to up the game.

... The Presentation Ceremony ...

Pakistan have just been on a roll in T20Is in 2021! They seem to have all bases covered and no matter if they bat first or second, they look likely to win. Having set a daunting task tonight, skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan yet again delivered for their team. The pair put on a 158-run stand for the first wicket and that set them on course to win the match with ease. After Babar fell, Rizwan still played his shots but maybe he a got a little tired in the end and gave his wicket away. Fakhar Zaman did hit some lusty blows as well and in the end, Asif Ali added the finishing touches with his quickfire cameo. The hosts put on yet another dominating batting performance tonight and they will be more than pleased to have won the series 3-0.

18.51

Dropped on Free Hit and Pakistan win! A full ball, on off. Asif Ali gets under it and looks to smash it over long on. Gets it high but fails to get enough distance and the ball goes straight to Rovman Powell at long on. He drops it and a single is taken. So Pakistan win by seven wickets!

After all that has been going on for the last couple of days, West Indies went out to bat with a positive mindset and when they went into the break with a score of 200+ on the board, they must have felt they had done enough. The bowling really let them down tonight and apart from a couple of bowlers, no one ever looked likely to pick up a wicket. Gudakesh Motie on debut did a fantastic job up front as he did not give away many runs. The pacers just couldn't control the middle overs and the two Pakistani openers were allowed to just maneuver the play. Finally, the breakthrough did come in the 16th over but by that time the required rate was under the opposition's control. Drakes and Shepherd did pick up a wicket each at the death but it all went in vain and the visitors will be truly disappointed with their bowling effort.

Pakistan have just breezed through what should have been a difficult chase and have clean swept the T20I series, 3-0! This is the hosts' highest ever successful run-chase and it was achieved with the minimum of fuss. West Indies will be disappointed tonight as this was their best chance of getting that elusive first win of the series.

Commentary

We are back for the chase! West Indies players are out there in the middle and Pakistan openers Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam are there in the middle too. The debutant Gudakesh Motie to start for West Indies.

... RUN CHASE …

Shahnawaz Dahani is up for a quick chat. Dahani says that they know West Indies are a very strong batting unit and the plan was to just not let them score freely which could not happen tonight. He mentions that he was ready to come on to bowl whenever the captain needed him and is a little disappointed that he conceded a boundary. He adds that the national team right now has a very good unit and mentions a few names who have been doing well and as far as his selection goes, he mentions that he can only work hard and play with a smile on his face whenever the opportunity comes. Adds that the international arena is definitely different from the domestic arena but they do play at a very high level in domestic cricket as well which always helps.

For a change, West Indies batted first today and made the most of it in the Powerplay as Brandon King, the birthday boy played a good breezy innings. But sadly perished in the last ball of the Powerplay. But Brooks continued the fireworks and then it was the time for the skipper, Nicholas Pooran to unleash his power. His quickfire fifty assured that West Indies cross that 200 mark and with the highest total of this series in their kitty now, it is upto their bowlers now to back it up. Can West Indies defend this huge total or will Pakistan chase this down and hand West Indies a whitewash here? Stay tuned.

The pitch was good to bat on and Pakistan bowlers failed to keep the run rate in control. The two young bowlers for Pakistan Shahnawaz Dahani and Mohammad Wasim eventually got the wicket of two West Indies openers but runs continued to flow. They did not get any wickets after the halfway mark till the 18th over and that allowed Windies batters to bat with freedom. Shahnawaz Dahani was the pick of the bowlers bowling with good pace and control while the other bowlers were smashed all around the park.

So a huge total on the board for West Indies. Pakistan have pulled things back a little in the last few overs but still a very good total on the board. They have got 207 and its upto their bowlers now to defend this out. But Pakistan can still chase this down if they get off to a good start as the pitch is quite flat and looks very good for batting. It will be Pakistan's highest ever chase if they chase this down and we have an interesting second-half of this game coming up.

He is though on the ground, holding his hamstring. Hope he is fine.

We are ready for play! The umpires are out in the middle and so are the Pakistan players. Shamarh Brooks and Brandon King to open the batting for West Indies. Mohammad Nawaz to start proceedings with the ball. The Windies players take the knee and the hosts have their hands on their hearts to show a united stand against racism.

PITCH REPORT - Bazid Khan is pitchside and he says that the surface is the same one used in the 1st T20I match and looks good for batting. The pace bowlers will have to vary their line and lengths in order to get something out of the wicket.

West Indies (Playing XI) - Nicholas Pooran (C) (WK), Brandon King, Darren Bravo (In for Shai Hope), Shamarh Brooks, Rovman Powell, Odean Smith, Romario Shepherd, Dominic Drakes, Oshane Thomas, Hayden Walsh, Gudakesh Motie (On debut) (In for Akeal Hosein).

Pakistan (Playing XI) - Babar Azam (C), Mohammad Rizwan (WK), Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim, Mohammad Hasnain (In for Shaheen Afridi), Shahnawaz Dahani (In for Haris Rauf).

TOSS - Up goes the flip of the coin and it lands in the favour of West Indies. They have elected to BAT first.

Let's talk about the West Indies now. Depleted even before they played a game on this tour. They could have easily cancelled this tour due to the lack of availability of first-choice players, but full credit to them, they are here to fight hard and try and win. They are a young unit and they showed commendable improvement in their performance in the second game. The bowlers came out with a plan and executed it fairly well. The batting too showed better application. Can they take a step further and register a win in the final T20I of this series? Or will Pakistan march ahead and hand West Indies a whitewash here? We shall find out. Stay tuned.

It will be interesting to see whether Pakistan get to chase tonight. There has been dew but not so much as to affect the bowlers. Maybe, that has allowed the fielding side to do better in the second innings.

The Pakistan players are already on the ground and training. They seem to be pumped up. Hard not to be, when you are 2-0 up in a 3-match series. But still, good to see.

Pakistan have been in red-hot form in T20Is this year and they have continued their dominance by registering another series victory and this time, in front of their home crowd. They will be particularly happy with their batting and bowling in the death overs and they look like a well-polished team with every player performing his role to perfection. With the series already in the bag, Babar Azam has already hinted that they will like to test their bench strength. Haider Ali and Mohammad Wasim have already delivered notable contributions in this series and we can expect a few other youngsters from Pakistan to grab their opportunities tonight.

Right then! With the 3rd T20I scheduled to go on as planned, let's talk about cricket. The hosts, Pakistan have already sealed the series with a clinical performance in the first two games of the series and will be hoping to continue their winning run. West Indies, on the other hand, delivered a much-improved performance in the second game and will be eyeing a victory in this final match of the series.

--- MATCH DAY ---

5 pm local (1200 GMT) - This is confirmed. The third T20I is on. Pakistan Cricket Board have tweeted a message on their official account, which has a small video of the players travelling to the ground. Great news!

4.30 pm local (1130 GMT) - Ahem! Some sort of a good news, but still awaiting confirmation. We are hearing that the match is all set to go ahead with players reportedly having left the hotel for the ground. Hurrah for that. But let's also hope that everyone is safe and tested negative.

BREAKING NEWS - Well, not quite the stuff anyone wants to hear. After the early setback due to Covid amongst the West Indian players, forcing to leave out Sheldon Cottrell, Roston Chase and Kyle Mayers, the list now has been populated further. Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein and Justin Greaves have now tested positive ahead of the third T20I, along with the assistant coach and team physician. The last three players have been ruled out effectively of the ODI series as well. What this also does is - put the tour in serious jeopardy. The other members will be tested now, as they would have been in close contact with the latest 5 members. Let's hope for positive news.
