As we head into the final session, the game is poised on a knife's edge, with all four results still possible if the weather holds. South Africa will aim for early wickets to expose a vulnerable lower middle order that collapsed in the first innings, while the West Indies will hope Hodge and Athanaze can bat through most of the session, pushing aside the possibility of defeat before mounting a final assault for victory. However, Kavem Hodge seamlessly transitioned into a new partnership with Athanaze, with the pair weathering a challenging phase as the Proteas tightened their lines and piled on the pressure. They held firm, seeing the session through without further casualties with Alick notching up his half-century, and the pair stitching an unbeated 57-run stand.

Keacy Carty and Alick Athanaze then steadied the innings, with Carty holding firm and Athanaze finding the occasional boundary. Athanaze, in particular, used sweeps effectively on both sides of the square to counter Maharaj, boosting the West Indies' scoring rate. Lungi Ngidi had a tough first spell, taking some punishment around the ground, prompting Temba Bavuma to quickly turn to spin from both ends. Just as the partnership began to gain momentum, with Carty and Athanaze putting together a 46-run stand, Carty chipped one to the fielder, disrupting the flow a bit.

What an intriguing session we've had as we head to Tea on Day 5, with the game finely balanced. The West Indian chase began with 72 overs remaining and a target of 298 to chase down. South Africa quickly made their mark, claiming an early wicket when Kraigg Brathwaite fell to an uncharacteristic shot. Despite the loss of their captain, Mikyle Louis has displayed positive intent, suggesting an aggressive approach to the chase. If this is any indication of how the West Indies will tackle the target, we’re in for an exciting couple of sessions, weather permitting. With 68.3 overs remaining in the day, all four results are still possible with South Africa needing 9 more wickets and West Indies requiring 287 more runs. The day began with glorious sunshine, and South Africa faced the challenge of a tricky declaration. They had to strike a delicate balance - offering just enough of a target to give the West Indies hope, but not so much that it seemed unattainable. The two Proteas openers started steadily, but it was Tristan Stubbs who accelerated the innings, guiding South Africa to a total they were content with. Maharaj was particularly threatening, forcing Holder to take on Markram while carefully negotiating Maharaj's probing deliveries. However, Markram had the final say, delivering a stunning ball that uprooted Holder's off-stump, sparking a dramatic collapse. Maharaj quickly followed up, dismissing Joshua Da Silva, which further deepened the hosts' troubles.

After losing a couple of sessions to rain and enduring a gruelling six-hour wait for the much-anticipated resumption of play, we were finally rewarded with a riveting couple of hours of cricket. The West Indies were dismissed for 233 runs, and the South African openers, Aiden Markram and Tony de Zorzi, seized the opportunity, confidently punishing every loose delivery. Their solid defence and aggressive stroke play have propelled South Africa to a commanding lead of 154 runs. With the momentum firmly in their favour, South Africa will be buoyed by their performance, eagerly anticipating clear skies on Day 5 to capitalize on their advantage and push for victory.

Not the best of deliveries by Seales to finish the day as this is down leg, on a short of a length, left alone by Aiden Markram. That will be STUMPS on DAY 4!
